im a fucking sucker for the “character gets so badly injured that they can’t think clearly and start calling for help in a distressingly vulnerable way.” characters who start using nicknames for their friends they haven’t used since they were kids. characters who start begging for their brother they haven’t seen in years to be there. characters who would usually use their parents’ names or call them mother/father/etc crying out mama when they go down. u understand.

Once a boy looked very sadly at me after a little bit of conversation. ‘you’re so smart’ he said, ‘I feel like I couldn’t keep up’. And then he did that sad boy face where you’re supposed to agree to tone yourself down. So I said ‘probably’ and fucked his mate.

I often think about how loneliness is a more powerful emotion in theatre because you’re in a room full of people who all powerless to do anything but watch and I saw Eva Noblezada as Eurydice in Hadestown the other day and I cannot get her guttural “is anybody listening” out of my mind, she was screaming for someone to listen and you’re sat there mere metres away unable to let her know that you are, that her story is being told and she matters, so many people are listening but she doesn’t know that

Nothing slapped my shit back into place like someone pointing out that the "genius gifted child with so much potential who got burnout and mental illness" is just the nerd equivalent to the jock "could have been a pro at sportsball if it wasn't for the injury".

I feel like everyone says Kpop Demon Hunters needs a sequel but like. guys. midquel mini series. have we not been saying that we want the movie itself to have shown more of the Saja Boys and Huntr/x going up against each other in what ended up as just a montage? a q u a r i u m d a t e. there's questions enough for both a prequel and a sequel, sure, but MIDQUEL. MINI. SERIES.

still can't believe that Jesper, who frequently forgets things he did and said, was able to remember every freckle, every eyelash, every slight curve of Wylan's face, and the exact color of his eyes, so vividly enough that he could recount it to another person even though he had only known that face for a few days, and been apart from it for about two weeks. One of the most beautifully romantic things in the entire Grishaverse and to be frank we have yet to give it its flowers

Old, tired, and boring: We have the same damage
New, fresh, and exciting: We don't have the same damage but the damage we do have is similar enough that we could understand each other and different enough to give each other new perspectives.

Wait hold up let me cook
So, we all know Jinu's backstory of him leaving his family behind. It's interesting to me that the main focus of this scene is Jinu pulling his hand away from his sister.
And when Jinu thinks back to this moment, he always looks at his hands, where the patterns that signify his shame always creep up.
And whenever Gwi-Ma controls Jinu, like literally dragging him back to the demon realm physically, we see the patterns emerge on his hands, signifying how Gwi-Ma takes advantage of Jinu's deepest shame to do so.
But when he's with Rumi, she reaches out to him and holds his hand, showing how she accepts his patterns. She accepts his shame, accepts him unconditionally, despite his mistakes.
And not only that, but she also shows him her own patterns, and puts her hands in his. She sees the hands that left his family behind, and chooses to put her entire trust in them, to trust him with her deepest secrets, her own shame. Because she sees Jinu and understands him, and she accepts him completely.
Peak symbolism. 11/10 movie
