Making of website

As i have told before that i will make my website on WIX.COM as it allows you to create free websites, and offers features like embedding video, sharing URLs, and uploading heavy files. It is very easy to use. Though there are so many already existing website templates on Wix, but I will start constructing my website from a blank canvas, so that I can design the website the way I want to , and have more control over its designing.

Home page

I gave the margine lines on all the pages and gave the social websites icones on the left tp corner of the page. On the left top corner i add a sticker with our team name Cats. I add the artist name and its picture along side.  

Artist page

I insert a layout add our artist picture on the right side and information about her on the left side of the page. Then i insert a text box to write and also add 2 stikers of flowers to decorate. 

Gallery page

I add the images in the gallery page by clicking on the image icon. I clicked the upload the images flie through the computer. 

I add the slide on the page for uploading the images for our Digipak.

Contact page 

I add the whole layout and makes changes according to me. In which i add 

Music Page 

I add the gutar stickers on the both side of the text music and underline the text. Then i import our album cover image on the page and gave some text along the name of the album on the right side of the page. I imported the track from the music list and change the thigs according to our music through the setting.

Tour page

There was not alot to add as I tried to keep it simple. I add the text in 4 different font and chage it’s color and size. 

Behind the scene

I upload our bts video on the page and below that i add our images. 

Store page 

I add the sales lay out and placed it on the top of the page and below taht i add a text in yellow color. Then i add the images of items with the album cover on them. After that i add the icone of trolly under the pictures which indicates the shopping.

I and Neha we were responsible for designing the entire website. We showed our idea by sketching the rought out lay of making of the website on the piece of paper.

Inspirational Website

Before starting our website we look into its codes and conventions of pre exsisting websites in order to make our own, and twe did that by  looking into renowned artists or bands websites and making some of them our inspiration. I tried to keep our website simple in design and even in use.

Platform of website

After a long discussion and research, we decided to select Wix as our platform to build the website for our band.

The reason why we chose Wix was due to the fact that it is user-friendly and the editor is extremely simple to use as anyone with a computer can build their own website. Not only does it include many up-to-date templates available, it also provides users the option to start with a blank canvas to construct a website of our own liking. Furthermore, it includes drag and drop tools, a wide range of fonts and other different features. Therefore after careful consideration we opted for Wix.

Key features of website

While I understand that there are no particular restrictions/rules when it comes to building a website, however there are some common features that can be found in a majority of the websites that web designers incorporate in their own unique way through the use of their skills and creativity. 

Here are the common features that I observed:

Name/Logo: of the band. It is bold, prominent and eye-catching. Usually, it is attached to the header.

Navigation Bar: Links in the header to the pages which contain various elements of the promotion of the band.

Sliders/Slideshows: Images and videos arranged into a slideshow.

Social Media Links: Links to official Facebook, Twitter, Instagram accounts.

News and Updates: New Releases, Meet & Greets, Promotional Offers.

Concert & Tour Dates: Upcoming album promotion tours and world tours.

Media Library (Discography): Featuring track lists, lyrics, albums.

Album Promotion: New Album release is usually highlighted to boost sales.

House style: A common style which is common in all the work of the artist. This is made using fonts, colour palettes, typography and certain imagery.

Awards: Nominations or wins at various music festivals.

Contact Details: Production company and PR management details.

Store: Links to buy albums and merchandise such as through Amazon or iTunes.

What is website?

A website is a collection of multimedia content which is typically known or identified with a common domain name and published on at least one web server, for e.g. Google, Wikipedia

Purpose of website:

Websites have a variety of purpose depending on who the target market is but, the main purpose of a website is to deliver specific, helpful information to current and potential clients as well as to constantly update it in order to keep the audience coming back for more information.

For a musician/band, a website not only plays a vital role for their star image but also their branding as well, increasing their popularity and sales. Additionally it provides current fans with content like biographical, tour, discography, media, merchandise details while attracting new fans through content, such as videos, slider, podcasts, slideshows, etc.

Making of back cover

After finishing CD, inlay she my team member Romaisa worked on the Front cover. The back cover is also made on the photoshop. 

As such there was not more work to do she just add the picture on the page as she did for front cover. 

She addded the picture of barcode in the bottom left corner of the page. Then she add 3 tax box on on the left side in horizontal way and 1 on the top of the page with the name of production writen. Then she added the list of song. 

As it was not looking good so she shifted the song list to the left side of the page. 

After making alot of changes on the page. Finally she changed the font and style of the text which looked very satisfining.

Making of CD

She draw a circle with shape tool and filled black color in it and later i draw a small white color circle. 

Then later she added a picture add it back. 

She final it by adding 2 line in white color and a tax box in between it with the album and artist name. Then at the bottom of the page she added more text in with different fornt.
