Feedback Received
Positive comments on the Farmer's Market photographs I displayed; can be seen in flickr, in Farmer's Market Album.
Other comments included the difficulty in leaving messages on tumblr, you needed to join tumblr to comment, 'you needed to set up a yahoo account to join tumblr . . . so out of date . . . drop tumblr and join instagram, so that I can leave comments' . . .

I'm enjoying this blog far better than I thought I would, by doing a little every day, its not so bad.
I have learned a lot by doing this blog, how to set up a blog, how to input text, photos, set up a flickr account, set up ablums.
With the feedback I'm getting, I still need to learn, how to archive information.  How to create better tags.  Follow more people and check out other peoples blogs.
I am going to redo this blog once the Digital Media Technology class is over and set up a home page and have lots and lots of photographs and less and less text.
My favourite blogs were those with the text in a drop down menu and photographs only on the main screen e.g. putdownthepotatoe.
Tumblr here I come . . . .

Listowel Food Festival.
Great display area and a big thank you to Listowel Food Festival Committee for giving Féasta this opportunity to display in Listowel.  Long may it continue.

Dingle Food Festival
Walking around Dingle on Friday 3rd October, to see the work of my fellow photographers, they were outstanding.  The photographs suited the windows.   The Kerry Cow on display in Murphy’s Ice Cream;  Lobster in Ashe’s Fish Restaurant; Apple picking in McKenna’s big window and a bowl of soup in O’Connor’s Vegetable Shop, to name just a few.
Public reaction was good and feedback from the shop owners was very positive.  I enjoyed the weekend and continued to walk around the town during the weekend to catch a glimpse of the photographs.  Breakfast in Foxy’s, Cakes in Dick Mack’s and jelly at the corner near the cheese shop.

Féile Bia & Fhionn an Daingean
As a result of the Farmer's Market display the group was asked by the Co-ordinator of Féile Bia to dress shop windows with photographs for the up-coming Food Festival in October 2014.  The group were delighted and rose to the challenge.  We began taking photographs and met in early September to decide the name and theme of the exhibition.
Tasks were divided between the group members e.
 Secure shop windows
Cost of printing photographs and posters
Size, display, board, laminate, how to hang the photographs
 Decide on text for brochure
Select final photographs, dropbox to printer, collect printer.
 Hang photographs
 Take down and store.

Dingle Farmer's Market
Dingle Farmer's Market start trading at Easter and continues until Christmas. The Community Stand is used to give emerging food producers or local groups a platform to trial their products.  The Photographic groups Féasta were delighted to show here during the summer 2014.
The stand and table were provided by the market, the photographers provided table covering, boxes to hold the photographs, balloons to brighten up the stand.  Also a display unit at the back of the stand showed two photographs from each photographer.
The photographers worked together to set up, man and take down the stand, we showed five times during the season.  Each photographer sold some photographs.  Best sellers were scenery, sheep and farm animals.
Lessons learned, we need a theme and all photographers need to stick to the theme.  If as a group we want to sell photographs, the Farmers Market is a specific market – a tourist market.  Is this what we want as a group?

This film, left a lasting impression on me.  Every time I hear the name Richard Mosse, I see this film flashing before my eyes with its loud music.  If you get a chance to go to see it, please do.  This small man (baby) above is like my grandson - hope he never sees war like this.  Thank you.

Ormston House
We then moved on to Ormston House to see Richard Mosse's film installation.  large screens hung from the ceiling in a dark gallery.  Where we watched vivid film of the war in the Congo.
What comes to mind were the Youth Soldiers, captured in the stills, the brutiality of war, the noise and the fast moving film. . . . and the pink . . .

Dramatic display of large photographs, mind-blowing pink.  The detail in these photographs is unbelieveable, every, cow, person, hut, tree can be seen so clearly.  I love this work.  Mosse represented Ireland in 2013 @ 55th Venice Biennale in Venice, a great ambassador for Ireland.
