Dallows looked at him for a moment, letting the sudden contrast between echo of his amplified voice ringing of the walls of bridge and the silence that followed play out like a staccato in the mind. She took a soundless breath in through her nose.
"I understand perfectly, Sir. And I object - in the strongest possible terms to the suggestion of carelessness in my conduct." Her voice was even, as if challenging a hypothesis with a esteemed colleague at a symposium. She neither flinched beneath the weight of Fordo's rebuke nor rose to meet it with defiance. "Is it in my nature to be careless, Sir?"
She let the question sit between them for a moment. A faint vibration hummed through the Ardent Resolve’s durasteel underfoot, a hyperspace transition settling into a steady vector.
"If I may," she said calmly, her stance only slightly informal, "respectfully, your concern seems less with my words, and more with the meaning they might carry to someone with access to privileged information that you and I both know that an mere antiques dealer simply does not possess." She paused, offering him with the same gaze that had once been reserved for overly smug professors at the Academy.
"The Malpazi Experimental Fusion and Ignition Facility is a matter of public record, Commander. Its purpose, its theoretical models — even the early research into Celestial Power under Krennic’s administration — all remain officially sanctioned knowledge. As much as I openly dislike Director Krennic, Sir, it is perhaps the finest scientific facility ever constructed. An auspicious architectural achievement which may provide energy to the impoverished throughout the galaxy for centuries to come. I did not name the 'monument' to which you are referring. Nor did I allude to it." Her gaze sharpened subtly.
"And if someone were to conflate the two — that would be a matter of classified entanglement. Not my own."
She let the implication hang just long enough, not quite a threat, more a reminder. She was an agent of science. But she was also trained in the semantics of secrecy. And her superior was not the only one capable of wielding language like a weapon.
"I remain in your service, Commander. If you wish for me refrain from voicing my opinions of Director Krennic in future, am I happy to oblige you. But I advise caution in assuming intent. You recruited me for my mind. I suggest you do not insult your own judgment."

|| @arc-77 || "Oh yes, nothing says strategic vision quite like Director Krennic gifting ancient baubles to curry favour with whichever sycophant-of-the-week has a fetish for pre-Republic masonry. Perhaps next time we can fetch him a Huttese virility totem? It’ll pair nicely with his personality and that monument he’s building to himself in the Outer Rim.”

"Fordo, if you walk into every fight like you're invincible, one day you're going to prove yourself wrong. And when that day comes, I’m the one who’s going to have to clean up the mess. So maybe, just maybe, consider letting your armour take slightly fewer direct hits, hm? Call it an experiment."

@arc-77 “I thought it fitting to commemorate, if only briefly, your nine years of command service. Congratulations, Sir! And please excuse the holo-fetti, I wasn't permitted to bring the real thing on board."

Do I really make cheesy and arguably gratuitous droid-gen music about Fordo ( @arc-77 ) and Dallows? OH YES. OH YES. Yes, I do.
[Verse] Seventy Seven's on patrol E-11 ready cold Phrik armor moves Unstoppable Impetuous An iron soul
[Verse 2] Dallows calls A voice of grace Her touch Warm in this dark place Wet lips A fleeting trace In the shadows We find our place
[Chorus] Imperial We stand firm For the Emperor We confirm Beskar melts in our stride Dark Trooper Never hide
[Verse 3] Seventy Seven sees the dawn Battle hymn We carry on Impetuous Through the storm Dark Trooper Keep us warm
[Bridge] Palpatine's dread commands Metal fists Clutching sands Guard her life Through his demands On these grounds We make our stands
[Verse 4] E-11 steady hand Phrik gleams Dark as land The Emperor's whispers Serpentine In our hearts A deadly spine
[Chorus] Imperial We stand firm For the Emperor We confirm Beskar melts in our stride Dark Trooper Never hide
[Chorus] Imperial We stand firm For the Emperor We confirm Beskar melts in our stride Dark Trooper Never hide
[Chorus] Imperial... We stand firm... For the Emperor... We confirm... Beskar melts in our stride! The Dark Trooper, Never hide.
[Close] Dark Trooper!

"As sharp and unyielding as the alloy itself, Cold As Phrik will leave you questioning what it truly means to follow orders—and at what cost." – Imperial Holonet Reviews
In the Empire, brilliance is a weapon, and Doctor Jaina Dallows is dangerously gifted...
Jaina Dallows, a prodigiously gifted scientist, nearly failed out of the Royal Imperial Academy, but the Tarkin Initiative had different plans for her. Handpicked for the Empire's most secretive projects, she helped develop unimaginable technological terrors—including the superweapon capable of destroying entire worlds. Her brilliance was her shield, and the ethics of her work never gave her pause. Until now. When she’s assigned to Commodore Fordo ( @arc-77 )—a former ARC Trooper, now one of the Empire’s elite Dark Troopers—Jaina’s task is simple: make him deadlier. Fordo is the ultimate soldier, capable of razing entire Rebel strongholds single-handedly, a walking weapon with a flawless record. A perfect clone, known for his discipline and unyielding loyalty to the Empire. But Fordo isn’t what the regime thinks he is. Beneath the impregnable armor and his rigid adherence to command, he’s a man with limits. He speaks out against the Empire’s cruellest tactics—the indiscriminate use of baradium warheads, the brutal aftermath of bioweapons projects like I17A, and the state-sanctioned slaughters that define the Imperial war machine. Fordo deplores what the Empire has become, even as he’s used to enforce it. He is a weapon, but not one without a soul. As the demands for new horrors grow—blasters that burn through beskar, toxins that render whole populations sterile—Jaina finds herself torn between the Empire’s vision of endless domination and the flickers of humanity she sees in Fordo. She’s built weapons capable of unthinkable destruction without a second thought, but now, standing at the edge of a moral abyss, Jaina faces a reckoning. The Empire wants Fordo to be a monster. Jaina sees something more. But in an Empire that rewards obedience and crushes dissent, protecting him—and herself might just prove deadlier than the weapons she's entrusted to develop.

When I first introduced Jaina Dallows, she was a dedicated scientist working within the IDMR on Scarif, where her focus was on the theoretical and experimental side of weapons development. Her early work was detached from the grim realities of war, more about pushing the boundaries of technology than understanding its applications on the battlefront. She was part of a generation of young Imperials who viewed their work as something separate from the rebel conflict emerging across the galaxy.
However, as the narrative progressed, it was important to show how the demands of the Empire and the harsh realities of war would impact someone like Jaina. Her journey has seen her transition from the sterile, controlled environment of the lab to beyond enemy lines, where her scientific knowledge is directly applied to the Empire’s war machine. This shift has been particularly evident in her work with the Dark Trooper program and her close collaboration with Fordo, who himself has transformed from an elite ARC Trooper into a devastatingly powerful weapons platform.
Jaina’s appearance five years after her initial assignment to Fordo has evolved to reflect this transition. Her hair, once kept at regulation length, is now longer and more unkempt—a visual cue that she’s moved away from the rigid protocols of the Tarkin Initiative and into a more hands-on, practical role. The fatigue on her face speaks to the long hours and the gruelling nature of her work, often conducted in less-than-ideal conditions during missions that push the boundaries of both science and ethics. These missions, often alongside Fordo, have forced her to confront the direct consequences of her weapons development—how her innovations are used in the field, often with devastating efficiency.
There’s also a noticeable shift in her demeanor. A subtle darkness has begun to take hold, visible just beneath the surface. Her love for science has become increasingly intertwined with the Empire’s goals, particularly in perfecting the Dark Trooper weapons platform. Dallows isn’t just developing technology anymore; she’s actively contributing to the Imperial war effort, and that influence has shaped her in profound ways. Her gaze now carries a quiet intensity, a reflection of how deeply she’s been affected by her work and the Empire’s demands.
This updated version of Jaina isn’t just about visual changes; it’s about illustrating her evolution from a detached and somewhat naive scientist to a key player in the Empire’s machinery. It’s a reflection of the broader themes within the Star Wars galaxy—how the Empire’s influence can seep into every aspect of life, altering individuals in ways they might never have anticipated.

Major Dallows looked out over the vast expanse of the ocean, the overcast sky casting a moody grey hue over the churning waters below. The rhythmic sound of waves crashing against the metal supports of the Imperial Shipyard balcony reverberated softly. The high-altitude gave her a panoramic view of the gargantuan structure, below the Impetuous was dwarfed by the colossal docking bays which could hold a dozen Star Destroyers.
Behind her, the metallic clink of boots heralded the arrival of someone. She didn't need to turn to recognize the imposing figure of Commodore Fordo, his Dark Trooper armor making his footsteps distinct.
"Major," he began, his voice deep and resonant from beneath the helmet. "Hiding amongst the clouds, are we?"
She smiled slightly, her eyes still fixed on the horizon. "Just taking a moment, Commodore, thought I could use a breath of fresh air."
His helmet tilted slightly in acknowledgment of her remark.
With a graceful turn, Dallows faced him, her bangs lined with droplets of drizzle. "Perspective," she said simply. "From here, our problems seem so distant."
Fordo took a step closer, joining her in silent observation the oceanic horizon.
"But as we are speaking of problems," Dallows began, "I still have unfinished business on Oridian. As you may recall, our suppliers there have been... less than cooperative."
