Powder blush girl
To kick off my first post I'll be writing about powder blush
First off there are many different types of blushes. They come in powers, creams, liquids and probably many more. Today I'll be writing about powder blushes since they're the most common type to find and anyone with dry or oily skin can use and it's great for beginners.
The importance of blush is to give your cheeks a natural rosy look to your skin where it would naturally be. Since your foundation takes off most of the natural color hues our of your skin it's important to incorporate natural colors like a blush or even a tan like what a bronzer would do back into the skin. It makes you look more naturally flushed. As far as color goes, there are no rules. Makeup is fun and creative so get creative and pick out a color you like it can be flat matte or even shimmer. Make up is also about confidence so there is no right or wrong. If youre new start with a blush that has an almost plum hue to it, it looks great on everyone and work your way up from there. You can coordinate your blush to match your lips and eyes by staying in the same warmth or cool hue or you don't have to, it's all about how you want to look. However I suggest using a little with a fluffy brush (the fluffier the brush the less product it picks up) and apply it to the apples of your cheeks. You'll find the apples when you smile, and brush it back to your ears and see how one application looks and apply more as needed and blend it out back and in circles. Remember the less you apply you can always apply more later but if you apply a lot it's hard to take away. If you're doing stage makeup you can make it look as dramatic as you'd like.
Some of my personally favorite blushes are the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hr blushes, Nyx HD blushes, Lancome blush subtil, Benefit blush boxes
