still absolutely furious that during the luxury liner arc when sebastian is attacked by the bizarre dolls in the water, ciel extending his hand for sebastian to get in the boat and him rejecting it wasn't animated for book of atlantic. he really wanted him to take his hand. as if he's strong enough to pull him up ☹️

previously i talked about my frustration about the way the book of atlantic adaption skimped out on one of my favourite scenes where ciel extends a hand to help sebastian up into the boat (after a bizarre doll bites sebs' leg) which is obviously annoying enough that it was scrapped from the animation but there's more

ciel was about to fall asleep (hypothermia) right before seb is bitten. also look at sebs' face:

anyway cuteness of the framing aside

ciel is immediately woken by sebs being attacked and becomes completely alert. sebastian trying to wake him wasn't what prevented him from falling asleep, but rather sebastian getting hurt. and i think it's a shame anime-onlys and those w/o full time access to the manga (and multiple rereads of it) haven't seen/noticed/remembered this scene in its entirety.

This is the first painting I did after many years of burnt out and depression. It is my favourite BL game/anime/drama. I still have no interest in other medias due to anhedonia, I feel so left out. But I am glad to be able to paint something, even if no one likes it

okay so tentacle play, secret confession, caressing of the face is all cool... but the most sickening part of green witch arc was the sexually charged scene in the bathroom of dietrich's manor

Bkdks never needed a canon romance confirmed or a kiss, we never needed any of that, we just wanted the last interaction between them to be THIS,

Optimistic, working together, tearing it up in the ranks, smiling, flying through the city in their hero costume(and armor suit) HAPPY AF

431s interaction between them was half consumed by this awkwardness and rejection hanging over their head and No, izuku doesn't need to join Bakugous agency for them to work together meaningfully, that's not the point....

The point was always the framing of that whole interaction, and it feeling like a rejection(and kirishima teasing bakugou that it was such) and those lines at the end as Katsuki waves goodbye (as if izuku is moving on without him) that "no one is actually special".... and that it was, for a while, the LAST thread we got of them!

I've said it before and I will say it whenever it comes up, the bakudeku thread kn 431 was strange, and was like setting up a new (emotional) conflict up, with no resolution, which is just unsatisfying writing.

(Again, yes they will be friends and work together regardless of being in an agency or partnership, BUT it is the FRAMING and the overall context and placement of this conflict that didn't work....and I think it left a bad taste in all our mouths.)

But just the one panel from horikoshi was enough to lift a weight off me, just bc of how satisfying it is to actually see them happy, and working together, even climbing the ranks on each other's heels.

Is a satisfying ending and answer to "the rest of our lives."

Question: Which character’s story did you enjoy telling the most?

Horikoshi: If we're talking about enjoying hardship and struggle, then probably Deku and Katsuki.

The two of them felt like they were always walking a tightrope. If they made even the slightest mistake, everything would fall apart.

Because of that tension, they were very rewarding to draw, and I'm glad I was able to do so.

Has anyone talked about how the fandom made up the head canon on how Katsuki would often visit Izuku at UA and how Katsuki and Izuku would talk about Izuku’s students

And Horikoshi ended up making it canon that they do in fact talk about Izuku’s work and his students

i wanna talk about this contrast really fast:

how seb is vs how ciel thinks of him in this moment is insane!!!!!!

ciel picturing seb as his light at the end of the tunnel, in his more conventionally attractive human form, surrounded by light. while seb is in a humanoid monster form standing over him like a predator, almost suffocating him. like. ciel can you be anymore obvious. i think there’s also something in there about seb being the man of ciel’s dreams; but that’s a bit of a stretch, i think.

ive seen a lot of discussion about how this episode is so undeniably sebaciel and i honestly agree. as a former anti, this episode really slaps you with sebaciel and i kinda love it. it literally won me over, to be honest. they make me ill, i love them sm
