I'm putting off dwarf fortress because my mayor wants a glass cabinet and I cannot find any sand Anywhere.... but I'm very happy with our food and drink stability and my dwarves happiness 😌(which is. Why I'm afraid to have a mad mayor)

I was really hopeful about the long dark, seeing loads of people rate it as their top survival game etc but im very much...bored out of my mind. And I like boring usually! I'm trying to give it a chance but...I dunno. it feels overhyped.
#ppl were like omg its so detailed etc#have you played vintage story#and red dead redemption has too much of a lead on hunting mechanics and variety and like... varied purposes...for things...

looking at this again like...waugh... come back
I do kind of dislike how one interest Fully takes over though I won't lie, its like a year/few years long high and its intense. I want to still like things I was into before but it kind of replaces it.

I had the Silliest™ dream last night that involved me trying to comfort an excommunicated priest by taking him out to a bar and while drunk I made him a new clerical collar out of a bar napkin. It made me think of your boys so I wanted to share. You were probably the dream's influence tbh.
lmao he would totally do that thank u for sharing

I did something fun for this comic, it was the first time trying riso style brushes in a comic, and I love how it looks tho it was hard to get my brain around haha. I'm using true grit rizzcraft brushes, and each colour is on a different layer set to multiply. The brushes for each colour are slightly different in pixel placement so the pure colours show through eachother in places!

How to give Father Eugene an aneurysm, now in one convenient twunky package!
I have been wanting to show Cliffs concerning attitude to...his life. He's often doing things like this, without any thought or care for consequences. Part of it is undiagnosed ADHD, part of it is attention seeking (prob related to the adhd tho), part of it is a response to trauma. Tbh he doesn't expect to live long and doesn't know what he's doing with his life (thinking about it seriously scares the shit out of him). Doing shit like this makes him feel alive and in control of his own fate for a moment. I think him pursuing a priest was initially along this same risk taking behaviour, it'll be fun, it's exciting, something to make life interesting when he can't drink or fuck strangers. Anyway that backfired. I think Eugene is a good anchor for him! Eugene is...the opposite of a risk taker, the poor man lives in fear most of the time.

Ohhhhh this is so fucking cute…their dynamic is so good…the cuddle pile and cliff sniffing around I'm absolutely dead. And their personalities really show thru even tho they're animals, it makes me wanna practice more. I love the collar on eugene, and his sweet soft eyes oh my god. I am truly not a dog nerd, I kind of didn’t care for dogs most of my life. (now I do kind of want one lol. Lots of good dogs in the countryside)
I think a cocker spaniel is sooooo cute for eugene, I love how much your drawings still look like him hahahahaha, those curly ears are adorable.
Being not much of a dog person...I don't like jack russels much, and I think I like Cliff being a bigger dog -tho saying this I think keeping the small husband big wife dynamic was so cute…and it totally does fit him personality wise like, you are entirely right with it lol.
(for people that aren’t on patreon I was drawing them as a dog and bunny on there)
At first when I was doing those patreon drawings I was like I want an intimidating dog so I kinda styled him on a German shepherd, but I think he's more like a border collie that…does not have its energy needs met lmao.
I think Cliff is happiest when he's Doing something but he's also so lost and doesn’t want to be an adult with a dull adult job. I think the collie herding behaviour kind of fits too, he's looked up to by his mates, and they model their behaviour on him a lot and he kind of lives for that. Also in the future I've been thinking he'd probably work with kids on like, those kind of residential adventure trips where you go kayaking and climbing and stuff. Something social where he can get his energy out and where his immaturity just makes him popular, he loves to be admired haha. I don’t know though, I guess trying to fit a dog breed to a human personality is kind of impossible, humans have too much nuance, so I’m connecting certain elements while obviously overlooking other things!
Anyway thank you so so much, I’ll treasure this :’) thank you for the thoughts, and the inspiration!
@malacandrax I figured out what kinds of dogs Eugene and Cliff would be.
Eugene would most likely be a spaniel of some kind, I put him as an English Cocker spaniel due to his shape and temperament. The elegant English Cocker spaniel is known for their merry and affectionate nature. They are excellent with everyone, eager to please, but can fall into anxiousness if not handled with care.
Realistically, since it is staged in the uk, he would have a full tail instead of a docked, but I wanted to keep it for the 'bunny' like appearance. Get it? Cause spaniels have little tails and long ears lol. I guess it's fine anyways because sometimes they are born with a naturally shorter tail.
Meanwhile Cliff is definitely a terrier of some sort. An independent, stubborn, little pot stirrer who, if left without simulation, will create their own fun. Yes sir, there is never a dull moment around a Jack Russell Terrier, a dog that will chase away boredom even at their own or your expense. That being said, they are wickedly smart, creative and an absolute hoot to be around. So long as you can handle an 'all gas, no breaks' mentality.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed my analyses and the art. I would love to know your thoughts if you think I read one of your guys wrong or you had a different breed in mind. I am a dog nerd and know too much and I would love to share.
Both characters belong to @malacandrax, please do yourself a favor and check them out on patreon, everything they do is outstanding, but everything involving this priest and rent boy (not usually as dogs) is gold.

is cliff short for clifford? clifton? does eugene ever Full Name cliff?
Clifford yeah! And yes lol I think when he's trying to be stern, maybe in a silly way more than seriously. The nuns and some of the older stricter parishioners definitely 'Clifford Marsden' him though, he does not like them.
