JJ sat down on the edge of the bed, wrapping his arms around your waist, and pulled you closer to him. You laced your fingers behind his neck slightly tugging at his hair. He crashed his lips into yours, he was urgent. He pulled you over him, so you were straddling his lap. You leaned your head back a bit, giving him access to your neck. He trailed sloppy, open-mouthed kisses along your jaw and down your neck. You were brought back to the moment when you heard the TV from the living room. You caught JJ's face in your hands and leaned back signaling him to stop, "J, stop." His eyes scanned your face, "What? Why?" You took a deep breath, "If we have sex right now, we will never talk about the last four days. Plus, Sarah and John B. are in the living room." He smirked and started to nip at your neck again, "Oh, come on. Nothing they haven't heard before." You relaxed back, sitting on J's thighs, "I'm serious." He sighed and his shoulders dropped, "I know."
You pushed his unkempt locks out his face and he winced a bit. Your brow furrowed as your finger guided his chin back, illuminating his eye in the moonlight, "Jayj..." He took your hands in his, "It looked worse four days ago." "Is that why you didn't come home? I can handle a black eye, babe." He ran his hands up and down your thighs, "I didn't want to scare you." "You not coming home for four days scared me, JJ. How did it happen?" He bit his bottom lip like he was scared to tell you the answer, "I punched my dad." You took a deep breath, "Oh, JJ. I'm gonna tell Sarah and John B. they can leave, then I'll draw you a bath." You got up and started to walk toward the bedroom door until he grabbed your wrist. He put on his best tough guy act, "I don't need you to give me a bath." You playfully rolled your eyes, "I'll meet you in the bathroom in a few."
You thanked Sarah and John B. for their support and assured Sarah you would call her later in the day once you and JJ had a chance to catch up and talk about the last few days. The bathroom door was cracked and the light was peeking out. You lightly knocked on the door and pushed it open. JJ was examining his black eye in the mirror. You came up behind him, wrapping your arms around his torso, hands sneaking just under his shirt so they rested on the warm skin of his abdomen. His breath hitched slightly and you knew it was because the tips of your fingers are always cold. He turned around to wrap his arms around you and kissed the top of your head, "Hey, baby." You wiggled out of his arms and took the first aid kit out from under the sink, "Lemme clean your cut." He began to rifle through the kit, "I can do it." You took his hands in your eyes and met his gaze, "I know but I want to." He didn't argue. You set up your peroxide, Neosporin, and a small butterfly-style bandaid on the counter. You wedged yourself between the blonde in front of you and the counter, "Help me up?" JJ lifted you up onto the edge of the counter. You placed two fingers under his chin, slightly lifting his head up to move his eye more into the light. He leaned into you a bit, between your legs, with his arms on either side of you. He sucked in a quick breath and winced a bit when you dabbed some peroxide and his very clearly not well-cleaned cut above his eyebrow, "Are we gonna talk about what happened?"
He swallowed hard and kept his eyes on his reflection in the mirror, avoiding eye contact, "I punched my dad." You brushed his hair slightly to the side with your fingers and lightly cupped the side of his face, he melted into your touch, eyes meeting yours, "J, what happened?" He took a deep breath and bit his bottom lip to keep it from quivering, "After I went to see John B., I went and saw my dad. He's staying at that broken-down motel." You never took your eyes off his. "He really thought I was gonna be happy to see him. He hugged me and I just stood there." Your eyes scanned his, searching for what he was feeling, "Did you guys talk about anything?" He shook his head no, "He asked for money." You weren't surprised, "Did you give him any?" JJ placed his hands on your thighs, slowly moving his hands up and down, a self-soothing motion he's been doing since you meet him, "I gave him what I had in my wallet."  You asked the question you were dreading and one you already knew the answer to, "Did he hit you?" His calloused thumb traced your jawline and the outline of your lips, lingering for a moment, "You know, word still travels fast on this island." You were confused, "What does that mean?" "He asked about you and said some things he shouldn't have." Your stomach dropped and your heart sank, "You hit him first, didn't you, Jayj?" He just shook his head yes, "I'm sorry I didn't come home." Your hands found their home on his abdomen once again, you pressed a long, soft kiss to his lips, "I know."
He pulled you into a hug, the both of you trying to hide your tears. You missed the way he smelled—oranges, the cinnamon toothpaste he insists is better than mint, and just a bit like sweat. You inhaled, savoring the scent as it overtook your senses, "God, I missed the way you smell." He let out a small laugh and pulled back to give you a contorted look, "I've been on a boat for four days. I probably don't smell that great." "You'd be surprised." He just shook his head at you, sauntering over to the shower. You expected something sinister to come out of his mouth next, "Will you wash my hair?" You raised your eyebrow at him and hopped off the counter. Your tone was teasing, "I thought you didn't need me to give you a bath?" He reached out to pinch your thigh, "I don't. I just like when you wash my hair." You rolled your eyes, "Of course, I'll wash your hair." You went over to turn on the bath and he pulled on your wrist. He pouted a bit, "No, in the shower. I want you in there with me." "Okay, fine. But no shower sex. You know I hate it, it is nothing like the movies." JJ laughed at you, "Yes, I know. Don't worry. No funny business." You let the shower heat up while steam filled the bathroom and condensation formed on the glass doors.
You pulled JJ closer to you by the hem of his shirt. You slowly lifted his shirt up and he discarded it in a heap next to the bathroom door. His fingertips ghosted over the hem of the shirt you were wearing. It hit you mid-thigh. He slowly pulled it over your head and added it to the pile with his, your eyes staying connected the entire time. He dropped his head down, crashing his lips onto yours. You pulled at his belt loops, undoing the button and zipper and pushing his cargo shorts and boxers down his thighs. He kicked them to the side, pulling your underwear down. Your bodies were pressed together. One of his hands was gripping your hip while the other just barely traced the outline of your breast as he moved his hand up and down your side. You wrapped your arms around his neck and tugged his head back by the hair on the nape of his neck, "Hey, you said no funny business." He smirked at you, "I remember."
He took your hand in his, leading you into the steamy shower. You both stood in the cascading water—lips and tongues fervently wrapping around each other. You raked your nails down his exposed back as he sucked on the taut skin of your neck, leaving a trail of fire as his tongue licked a swipe on your jawline, his lips finding yours again. His rough hands explored every inch of your body, the water making it easy for him to glide over his favorite parts. There was something achingly delicious about just making out with JJ. It was so needy yet slow at the same time. You needed a second to catch your breath. You could barely get the words, "JJ, babe." His lips were swollen. He moved back just slightly, enough for his eyes to meet yours, "Stop distracting me, woman. I said no funny business." You playfully shook your head, taking his body soap off the shower shelf. He tutted and shook his finger, "No, no. Use yours." Oh, he knew exactly what he was doing. He knew you loved the way your body wash smelled, like vanilla and brown sugar, on his warm skin just after a hot shower.
You pumped some of your body wash between your hands and rubbed them together making the soap a bit foamy. You pushed up on your toes, pressing a soft kiss to the skin underneath his ear lobe and then his collarbone. You began to trail your hands down his shoulder and arms then over his chest as you continued to press kisses wherever you could manage to get your lips. His head dropped back. You noted the effect you had on him as you pressed another kiss right to the middle of his tan torso. The last four days he spent on the boat reflected in his sunkissed skin. He took your shoulders and turned you around, pulling you back into his chest for a moment, "Your turn." He kissed your shoulder before lathering your back, reaching around your front, covering you in body wash, and giving your chest a light, playful squeeze. You yelped when he took one of your nipples between his thumb and index finger, rolling it between the fingertips. You quickly snapped around, pretending to be upset, "No funny business." He put his hands up in surrender, pretending to be sorry, "I couldn't help myself."
You squeezed some shampoo into your wet hands. JJ leaned down so you could tangle your fingers into his blonde locks. He let out a relaxed sigh as your fingertips worked through his hair, massaging his scalp, "You're so good at that." You smiled at him and moved his head slightly to rinse the shampoo away. You wrapped your arms around his neck, pushing up on your toes to meet his lips. You spoke against his lips, "Go get ready for bed, I'm gonna wash my hair. I'll be out in a few." He knew better than to come between you and your shampoo routine, "Oh, come on. I'll watch." He looked you up and down and winked. You playfully swatted at his chest, "Get out of here." He scrunched his nose in defeat, "Fine."
It was very early in the morning, but still dark outside. The moon was big tonight and the light was coming through the blinds. You walked into the bedroom to see JJ scrolling through his phone. His hair was still damp and sticking out in every which way. He was on top of the covers, basketball shorts hung low on his hips, and his tan torso was only slightly visible from the moonlight and light coming from his phone screen. You stood in front of the dresser and dropped your towel, feeling his eyes on you. You rifled through your drawer for a minute and dug out a pair of underwear and pulled on one of JJ's shirts. You knew he was watching you get dressed, probably smirking to himself about how your shirt wasn't going to be on long, so why even bother...
You climbed up on the bed crawling on top of him. You straddled his waist, taking his phone out of his hands and placing it on the side table. With his features soft in the moonlight and his hair still messy from the shower, you swore he was the prettiest boy you'd ever seen. Your fingers danced along his chest as you leaned down to kiss him. It was soft at first. He deepened the kiss, his tongue slowly licking your bottom lip to gain entrance. Your hips rolled into his and he squeezed your waist. He slowly traced your waistband, "Can I?" You nodded and smiled into the kiss, "Yeah." His hand slipped past your waistband and his thumb began to work itself in circles. You moaned into his mouth. You were putty in his hands and he knew it.
He sat up and wrapped your legs further around his waist. His thumb continued to work against you as he peppered sloppy, open-mouthed kisses to your neck. JJ removed his hand and you huffed in annoyance. His voice was low, "Open." You opened your mouth and two of his fingers met your tongue, "Suck." You did as you were told. Once his fingers were wet and slick with your saliva, which he really didn't need, his hand dipped back beneath your waistband and he sunk two fingers inside you. You clenched around his fingers as he pumped them in and out of you. He moaned into your mouth, "God, you're wet." You broke the kiss and looked at him, his bright blue eyes had darkened and his pupils were blown out, "I wonder why." He had a devilish grin on his face as his fingers began to move faster. You wanted to savor the moment. You fought every instinct to ride his fingers into oblivion, "S-slow down." He was cocky, "You want me to stop?" You rolled your eyes as his fingers made a dead stop inside of you, "Please, no. Just slow down."
You were a mess in his lap as he started moving his fingers again, slower. As he pumped his fingers in and out of you, you rolled your hips into him, desperate for some sort of friction. You were close. You could feel the knot in your stomach getting tighter. Your head fell back as you continued to work against each other. He practically growled at you, "Look at me." Your eyes met his, "J, I-I-I'm..." You were stuttering and could barely get a word out. He kissed you hard, his fingers began to move faster, "You gonna come for me?" You fervently shook your head "yes," reconnecting your lips. Sweat began to form on your forehead as you began to reach your high. You clenched around JJ's fingers, hard as you came crashing down, right in his lap. He kissed your jaw, "Good girl." His fingers stayed inside you as you caught your breath. Your chest was heavy as it moved up and down. JJ's fingers slipped out of you and you whimpered at the loss of contact.
You sat there, your legs still wrapped around his waist, and foreheads pressed together. You laughed a little, "Thank you." You were giddy and it felt like the first time he had ever touched you. A slightly puzzled look spread across his face, "You're welcome?" His voice raised a bit like it was a question. You blushed, "What? That was good." He pressed his lips against yours. The kiss was soft and innocent, nothing like the mood a few moments earlier. He pushed your hair behind your ear, "I really am sorry." You kissed him back, "I know."

(new screen name hey)
Time was slowly creeping into the territory where you would begin to really worry about where he was and what he was doing. Sure, he would get sort of distant and spend time by himself on the water once in a while, but you always knew where he was and you always, always knew he would trudge in here in the morning before you left for work. This time was different. His dad was back in town. You didn't know much about their relationship, just the small pockets he would share with you and rumors that would make it to your side of the island back in high school. Even as a sometimes acquaintance, you knew no one deserved to be treated like that, especially by someone meant to protect them. Now, you feel an ache in your heart whenever he shuts down because you know why it is happening. Trauma was not just something that one could get over just like that. No matter what you did to try and take his pain away, it was always there, just right behind his bright blue eyes. You often wondered how his eyes could be so soft and inviting when they held onto so much pain and anger.
*four days ago*
He texted you while you were at work, which he rarely does. You opened the message and all it said was, "He's back." You knew exactly who he was, but you did not know what that meant for him. You wanted to run out of your classroom and go to where he was and just hug him—to catch him when he fell. You knew you couldn't. It was remarkable how he could make you want to give in to reckless abandon like you were a teenager. Unfortunately, you were not a teenager. You sent a quick text back, "I love you, baby. I will be home right after school." Your hands trembled for a second as your attention turned back to the lesson you were supposed to be teaching.
The instant the dismissal bell rang you grabbed your bag and walked as fast as you could to your car. The short drive home seemed to take hours. You could not get there fast enough. Thoughts swirled in your mind. You did not know what to expect when you got there. You felt like you needed to prepare yourself for the worst. His car was in the driveway. You slowly turned the key to your front door and cautiously pushed the door open. You walked in and it was quiet. His hips weren't swaying to the radio while he did dishes, how you usually find him when he gets home before you. You set your bag down and peek around the corner and see the back door is open, "Babe?" There is no answer. You make it to the open door and he's sitting in one of the patio chairs, his eyes are red, and he has a cigarette burning between his swollen lips. Your heart sinks as he just holds a hand out for you to take and join him, "How was work?" You begin to sit in the chair next to him but he lightly pulls you toward him indicating he wants you closer, "It was fine, J. Are you okay?" You settle on his lap swinging your legs over the side of his chair as he wraps his arms around you. He flicks the cigarette into the ashtray and buries his head in your chest.
You being to stroke his hair and you feel his body simultaneously relax in your grip and begin to tremble. He's crying, "I don't wanna go see him." You try to pull him closer to you than he already is, "You don't need to, baby. You don't owe him anything."  It was quiet for a minute as you ran your fingers through his hair. "I'm gonna go see him tonight." The tears begin to form in the corners of your eyes as he continued to fall apart in your arms. You try your best to keep it a secret, "I can go with you." He looks up at you, his face wet and hair matted to his forehead, "You don't need to." "I want to." He presses a kiss to your clothed chest, "I need you to stay home. I need to do this alone." You tenderly cup one side of his face with your hand and he relaxes into it, kissing your palm, "J, he can't hurt you. You're not a kid anymore." He just takes a deep breath, "I know."
He leaned back in the chair and you guys sat on there for what felt like hours just listening to each other breathe and the waves crash onto the shore. He broke the silence, "I gotta go, sweetheart." You stood up and he followed you. You threw your arms around his neck, balancing on your tip toes, "Be safe, please." His hands found their home on your waist and he squeezed it lightly, pressing a long and deep kiss to your lips. He broke the kiss and looked down at you with those big blue eyes, "I love you." You sniffled and wiped a tear from falling down your cheek, "I love you, too." He kissed you again, "I'll be back tomorrow." You couldn't hide your tears anymore, "Please come home tonight." He kissed you on the forehead before walking away, "I love you so much. I'll see you tomorrow." You shouted after him, "I love you. Forever." He didn't look back as he walked out of the back gate. You knew if he did he wouldn't have left and you knew he needed to, no matter how much neither of you wanted him to go.
That was four days ago.
day one
Admittedly, you hoped he was going to walk through that door sometime during the night. You knew deep down that wasn't going to happen, but you couldn't help yourself from trying to will it to happen. You lay awake most of the night, tossing and turning, worrying about what was happening between him and his father. You knew that it was not an easy decision for him to make—to go and see his father after everything that had happened when he was growing up. At the same time, you knew that he needed to go to see him. He had always wanted more closure than he was afforded when he left that day when JJ was a teenager. Still, selfishly, you wished J hadn't gone. Somewhere between putting your headphones in, playing your and J's favorite songs, and letting your mind wander, you had drifted off to sleep.
You were startled by your alarm. You groaned at the sunlight peeking through the blinds you couldn't be bothered to close last night. You didn't have any messages from J and he still wasn't home. You had a sinking feeling, but he always comes home. Maybe he went straight to work to open the shop. You call him, but he doesn't answer. You swallowed the lump in your throat and decided to leave early to go drive by the shop. You pull into the parking lot and his car isn't there. You notice his motorcycle had been taken out of the garage, which felt unusual. You rummage through your purse for a minute looking for the spare key to the front door. You finally find it and make your way into the garage. It was still dark enough outside so the garage's sensor lights were still on. JJ's truck and the boat were gone. You still didn't like not knowing where he was or if he was safe, but you had some peace knowing where he likely was. You wrote a quick note and left it on his desk before locking back up and heading to work.
Before going to your classroom, you stopped by the office to check your mailbox. You walked into the front office and noticed your box was empty. You walked up to the receptionist counter and you were greeted by the office manager's, Rhonda, smile. You smiled back at her, "Morning, Rhonda." She pushed her bowl of Jolly Ranchers closer to you, "Morning, honey. Want a Jolly Rancher for the road?" She knew your weakness. You picked a couple from the bowl and turned to leave. You stopped and thought for a second, "Hey, Rhonda. Can I ask you something?" She stopped typing on her computer, "Not if you're gonna ask me to change the toner." You smiled and laughed weakly, "No, you don't have to worry about that. I know you too well." Her smile was warm and I think she could tell something was on your mind, "What's on your mind?" I cleared my throat, "Did Joe mention seeing JJ at the shop last night?" She looked a bit puzzled and shook her head no, "I'm sorry, no. Is everything okay?" You quickly shook your head yes, "Yeah, everything's fine. He's just going through something right now. Have a good day, Rhonda." "You too."
day two
It had been just over 24 hours since you had last seen him. These days, he never disappears for this long without checking in. You tried your best to keep your mind from going to dark places. Sometimes those thoughts go the best of you though. You were at a loss. You checked all of his usual corners after school yesterday and came up empty. You couldn't exactly take the boat out and look for him on the water, he had the damn boat.
You didn't want to get anyone else involved. What use was it to worry everyone if he was fine? Probably fine. He's fine. You were going to drive yourself crazy if you didn't at least reach out to John B. It was early, but you still dialed his number. You could tell you woke him up by the rasp in his voice, "Hello?" It was a question, not a greeting. He was still half asleep and probably very confused as to why you were calling him so early, or even calling him in the first place. You took a deep breath choking back tears, but your voice still trembled, "Hey, I'm so sorry to wake you." You could hear Sarah in the background, "Is she okay? Put her on speaker." They spoke almost in unison, "Is everything okay?" "Have either of you talked to JJ? He hasn't come home for two nights in a row." You heard John B. clear his throat, "He came by the other night before going to see his dad, but I figured he would have been home by now. Has he called you?" You clenched your fist, nails digging into your palm, to keep from breaking down completely, "No, I haven't talked to him since he left that day. I think I need to go to the police." Sarah chimed in, "Do you want me to go with you?" "No, I'll be fine." Her voice was reassuring, "Are you sure?" "Yeah, I am. I'm gonna go before work. Text me if you hear from him?" They answered together, "Of course."
You had two preps this morning, so you had plenty of time to head to the station before your first class. You parked and pulled down the visor mirror to make sure your eyes weren't too red. You took a deep breath, counted to three, and got out of the car. The walk to the door felt hundreds of miles long. Chills covered your body as you walked up to the counter. An officer you recognized as a parent of one of your students was sitting going through files when she looked up, "Oh, don't tell me this is about my son." You chuckled a bit, "It's not." "Thank god. What can I do for you then?" You leaned forward against the counter a little, "Is Shoupe in yet?" She sat back a bit to get a better look through the frosted office window, "I think so. Can I tell him what this is about? Everything okay?" You bit your bottom lip to keep it from quivering, "Can you please just tell him I need to talk to him about something?" She got up from her seat taking her coffee cup with her, "I sure can." "Thank you."
Shoupe stood in the doorway of his office motioning his head as an invitation. He waited until you were sitting to close the door. You fidgeted with the loose thread on the sleeve of your sweater. He sat down opposite you and took a sip of his coffee. The warm scent reminded you that you hadn't smelled coffee in two days, JJ drank it, not you. The scent filled your nostrils and you closed your eyes for a second basking in it. Shoupe broke you out of your thoughts, "What brings you in? How are your parents? I ran into your dad at the dealership the other day." You nodded, "My parents are good. Yeah, he mentioned you were in the market for a new truck." He just shook his head yes, confused about why I was making small talk about my dad's business at 7:30 in the morning on a Wednesday, "So, are you gonna tell me why you're really here?"
You smoothed down your dress nervously running your hands back and forth on your thighs, "JJ hasn't been home in two days." Shoupe didn't look surprised, "Isn't that kind of what he does?" You kept yourself from rolling your eyes, "It's what he used to do. He's not a teenager anymore, Shoupe. He has responsibilities now. A good life, he just wouldn't run off. He wouldn't do this to me. I'm really worried about him. No one has seen or heard from him in two days. I don't know what else to do. I'm freaking out." You felt the tears begin to form on your bottom lash line and broke down completely, "Shoupe, I need you to do something.  He wouldn't do this to me." He leaned forward in his chair and pulled paperwork from the bottom drawer of his desk. He offered you a box of tissues and a pen, "Let's just fill out the missing person's report and go from there." You nodded, drying your tears, and taking the pen, "Okay, let's do that. But then what?" He typed something into his computer, "We wait."
day three
The last thing you wanted to do was get out of bed and deal with teenagers all day. You loved your students to death, but it had been a long couple of days, especially because you weren't sleeping all that well. You were physically and emotionally exhausted. You finished your tea before you even made it to work, so you headed to the office to make a new cup and see Rhonda so she could fuel your Jolly Rancher habit. Rhonda can usually see right through you so you tried your best not to look as tired and worn out as you actually were, "Morning, Rhonda." She put her candy bowl on the counter so you could reach it, "Morning, honey." You stood there waiting for the electric kettle to heat up. You absentmindedly spun the ring that sat on your ring finger. Rhonda took notice, "Your boy not back yet?" You shook your head no, "Can you thank Joe for opening up the garage this week?" She smiled that warm and comforting smile at you, "Of course. He really did get you a beautiful ring." You plopped your tea bag into your mug, "Thank you. He had some help." She placed her hand onto yours, "He loves you. He'll be back." You just smiled back and nodded slightly, "Have a good day, Rhonda."
You really didn't want to spend another night alone in your and JJ's home. You texted Sarah.
*text chain*
Hey, would you mind spending the night tonight?
Not at all, do you want me to come by after you get home from work?
That would be great. You know where the key is if you get there before me. :)
You pulled up to your house to see Sarah's car already in the driveway. You unlocked the door to see her drying some dishes. She turned around abruptly, "Oh, you startled me. You're home early." You pulled her into a hug, "I had a prep. You didn't need to clean my kitchen." She squeezed you a little tighter, "I know, I just wanted to help." You released each other and you thanked her. You changed and sat down on the couch. She sat on the loveseat adjacent to you, "You haven't heard from him?" You sighed, "No, but I talked to Shoupe yesterday." She rolled her eyes, "Did he say anything worthwhile?" "Nope." You enjoyed not being alone and got lost in reality TV to occupy your mind for a bit.
Sarah broke the silence, "You hungry?" You nodded, realizing you hadn't eaten much of anything the last few days. She took her phone off the coffee table, "I can have John B. go pick up a pizza or something." You snuggled deeper under your blanket, "That sounds good." You were thankful for your friends. Even though they were JJ's first, you were welcomed quickly and found a best friend in Sarah that you had wanted your whole life. You didn't talk much in high school, she had a certain untouchable aura to her back then. She was far from untouchable, however. She was warm and fiercely loyal to those whom she loved.
day four
You were thankful that both Sarah and John B. decided to spend the night last night. John B. took up residence on the couch insisting that he didn't need to sleep in the guest room if Sarah wasn't going to be in there. You insisted that you could sleep alone, you think she knew you didn't mean it. She was still asleep when your alarm went off. It was a half day and you literally could not be more thankful. All you had to do was make it through four hours of teaching AP English and you could retreat back to your safe haven, to your friends, and maybe to JJ. You couldn't help but think that every day when you came home this week, JJ would be there waiting for you. It hadn't happened yet, but you weren't about to give up hope.
When you got home, both Sarah and John B. had left. Sarah left a note on the kitchen table: "Went home to get some stuff and John's at the surf shop. We'll be back later." You told them they didn't need to spend another night but you were thankful they chose to. You made a cup of tea and settled onto the couch, trying your best to take a nap. Your mind was racing but listening to music always seemed to help. You were startled awake by the door lock clicking closed. Sarah muttered to herself, "Shit." You sat up, "Hey." She looked apologetic, "I am so sorry, I was trying not to wake you." You got up from your place on the couch, the hair on the back of your neck was sticking to it and all you wanted to do was take a shower, "It's okay, I'm gonna take a shower." Sarah placed some grocery bags on the kitchen table, "You'll feel much better after that. I'll fix us some dinner. John B. will be by later, he's got inventory coming in tonight."
The steam filled the bathroom as you stepped into the hot water. You let the slightly too hot water wash over your shoulders. For a just moment, you felt everything melt away. There was truly nothing like a hot shower. You sat with your thoughts for a few minutes. You missed JJ so much and were really starting to get concerned. You hadn't heard anything from Shoupe yet, though you were wondering if he was actually doing anything. You wanted nothing more than to go back in time and not let him leave or force him to take you with him. You regretted not going after him, making sure he was okay. You kept telling yourself you could have prevented this, but in reality, you knew couldn't have.
After your shower, you and Sarah sat down to eat dinner. You spent it reminiscing about old times—talking about everything and nothing at the same time. You have to admit, the banter was a welcome distraction. Shortly after dinner, you guys settled in to watch a movie. You were tired but you enjoyed doing something other than worrying about your wayward fiancé. You could feel yourself starting to fall asleep, "Hey, I'm gonna turn in." She nodded and pulled you into a side hug from her spot next to you on the couch, "I'm gonna wait out here for John B. Shout if you need anything." You squeezed her hand, "Thanks, Sarah."
You rummaged through JJ's drawers searching for his favorite t-shirt—his faded Sex Wax shirt. You wanted to feel close to him. He had had the thing since high school, so it was perfectly worn in. You slipped the shirt over your head and crawled under the pile of blankets that you couldn't sleep without but JJ always complained about. You had been lulled to sleep by the sound of the TV in the living room. For the first time in the last few days, you were actually asleep.
After a couple of hours, you were woken up by whispering coming from the hallway. You didn't think anything of it. You checked the time on your phone. It was 2:38 in the morning. You had a message. You opened the messaging app and it was from JJ, almost an hour ago. It just read, "I'm sorry." Before you could manage to untangle yourself from your pile of blankets (JJ was right, you really didn't need all of these), the bedroom door opened slowly, the light from the kitchen peeking through. Your heart sank when his familiar backward cap and his blonde locks fluttering out from beneath it were illuminated in the doorway. You choked back a sob, "JJ?" He rushed over to you taking you in his arms. You wrapped your arms around his neck, tears streaming down your cheeks. He broke the hug and your eyes met. He wiped a tear from your cheek. You were so unbelievably angry and thankful at the same time. He kissed you. You cried harder. He pressed a kiss to the top of your head, "Shhh, I'm here. You're safe. I'm safe." You pulled back a bit, "You look like hell." "I feel like hell."

I mean...how could I not?
Content: A nice lazy, rainy Sunday morning reading on the couch.
Warning: age gap, a little possessive, it’s kind of cheesy but I don’t really care! lol
I started this piece a long time ago and I am just hitting a wall...so here is what I have so far. I don’t know if I will finish it.

The soft patter of the rain on the roof was the only sound that filled the house for most of the day. The back door was open slightly and there was a now damp towel near the opening that had been placed to catch the bouncing raindrops from the patio outside.
Your Sundays were a ritual—his eyelashes on your cheek beckoning you to wake up, eyes still heavy with sleep as you lift your cup of coffee to your lips, arranging farmers market flowers as he finishes carrying in the rest of your treasures—but it was raining today. The rain was a welcomed distraction, it shifted your routine in a way that you had been craving. It had been a long while since you had enjoyed each other's silence. Silence seemed to be rare in his world. You only experienced pockets of it, stolen away from everyone's eyes. He woke you up that morning, pulling you into him, and melting into you, "It's raining, love." You hummed, "My favorite." The rain made the morning move in slow motion. There was no early morning coffee or having to find parking at the already getting crowded farmers market. "Let's have coffee in bed. I'll go make it," his smile was sweet. You scrunched up your nose, "I wanna watch the rain." He was amused, "Of course you do."
Your mind wandered back to the current moment. Your back was against the arm of the couch and your legs were bent at the knee. A warm blanket was in your lap, covering one-half of you. You had a book in one hand and the other was running its fingers through his hair. He was settled between your thighs, slightly propped up on a throw pillow. His fingers were tracing lines on your shin as he turned the page of his book with the other. You mused, wondering how you had the privilege to live in this perfect moment. If you could bottle it, you would. His hand would occasionally ghost up your leg and settle on your thigh, his arm stretching slightly so he could grip it. You would slightly tug on his hair, playfully of course, "Shh...I'm reading." He would squeeze your thigh once more before going back to the words on his page, "I didn't say anything." He didn't have to say anything. This was a game you knew all too well. The rain was still falling outside and you wanted to bask in this feeling for as long as you could. The comfort of just merely touching each other was enough to keep you going for days.
After a while, you heard him sigh. You put the business card posing as your bookmark back into your book, "Something on your mind?" He laid his book down flat on his chest, "You've been reading that book for years, you think you would have finished it by now." You rolled your eyes, "I've been finished. I just like to revisit it. It's one of my favorites." He sat up to face you, his legs crossed in front of him, "Well, what about it makes you revisit it?" You were astonished, "You're telling me that Mr. Booksnob himself has never read Jane Eyre? It's a classic." "Hey! I am not a book snob." "You kind of are." He took the book from your hands and examined the cover, "So, what is it about?" You took a minute to think, "It's about a homely governess who falls in love with the older man she's working for." His fingers were drumming against the book, "What's with you and older men?" You snatched the book back from him, "That's just what's on the surface. It's a story of painful love, independence, and feminism." He nodded, "Now, that makes more sense. Read me some." "Like what?" "Read me something that reminds you of me." You had it highlighted. It was a new quote you liked. The spine was not yet used to the continuous flipping to the page every time you pulled out your beloved copy. You licked your lips and cleared your throat a bit, "All my heart is yours, sir: it belongs to you; and with you it would remain, were fate to exile the rest of me from your presence forever." He blinked a few times and seemed to be entranced by the words you just spoke, "You belong to me?" You swallowed hard, "This book isn't about us." Your breathing was shallow as you waited for him to say something. His eyes were fixed on yours, "Do you belong to me?" You were quick to nod your head up and down, "Yes." He ghosted his lips over yours, "Good answer. Kind of anti-feminist, though?" You pressed your lips against his, "Is it?"
You pulled back, "Your turn to share. What are you reading?" He took his book from its place on the coffee table, "Poetry." You wiggle the thin green book out of his grip, "I've never really been a fan." His jaw dropped, "You? Miss I Buy A Book every time I leave the house, doesn't enjoy poetry?" "I guess not." He took his book back, "Well, it's only fair I read you something." You reached out trying to take the book from him, "Can I choose?" He clutched onto it, "Absolutely not." He began to flip through the pages, "You at least know who E.E. Cummings is, right?" You shook your head, almost offended, "Obviously." He found the page he was looking for, "I think you'll enjoy this one."

His lips parted and he set down the book:
i have found what you are like the rain,
(Who feathers frightened fields with the superior dust-of-sleep. wields
easily the pale club of the wind and swirled justly souls of flower strike
the air in utterable coolness
deeds of green thrilling light                               with thinned newfragile yellows
                  lurch and.press
-in the woods             which                stutter                      and
                           sing
And the coolness of your smile is stirringofbirds between my arms;but i should rather than anything have(almost when hugeness will shut quietly)almost,                your kiss
You guys just stared at each other for a second.
Your chest was tight and tears started to well in your eyes, "That was beautiful." He look worried and cupped your face with his hands, "No, no, no -- why are you crying?"
Your chest was tight as you tried to keep the tears from welling in your eyes, "You memorized that?" He nodded and took your hands in his, "I find myself searching for it when I'm thinking of you. Sometimes I get asked what it's like to love you and I always tell them to read this poem. I never understood what Cummings meant when he wrote about someone being like rain until I fell in love with you." You just looked at him, your thumb brushing his, "I wouldn't believe that coming from anyone else, but for some reason, I believe it from you. I also think you kind of want to get laid, but I still believe it."

It was a hot day in Hawkins. Not the kind of hot where the sun was blaring down, making the pavement burning hot to the touch. The kind of hot where the air felt heavy, making your skin sticky after being outside for only a few minutes.
You had convinced Eddie it would be best to spend the day indoors, not wanting to spend the day covered in your own sweat.
So there you were, laying on your stomach on his bed. You were contently reading a book for your English class, eyes focused on nothing but the words on the old wrinkled pages in front of you.
Eddie sat across his room from you, tuning the strings of his guitar. He quickly grew uninterested in his prized possession, his eyes making their way back to your figure more and more often.
He felt like a little guilty for how much the sight in front of him was turning him on. Though he wasn’t to blame entirely. It wasn’t like he got himself worked up on purpose.
Maybe it was the way you looked on the drive from your place to his. Window rolled down completely, your head thrown back against it as you let the warm breeze wash over you.
The small tank top you wore did little to cover you. The thin material was nearly see through against your skin, your nipples poking through making it impossibly hard to keep his eyes on the road.
He had the mind to blame in on the way you sweetly begged him to stop for ice cream. The way you looked up at him through your eyelashes while angelically muttering,
“Please, Eddie..it would make me feel so much better. We can even share one..”
He playfully rolled his eyes as he agreed, pulling into a small drive in. You happily took his hand in yours, leaning up to kiss his cheek, thanking him as you waited patiently for your sweet treat.
It would be well reasonable to blame the burning sensations he was having on how you looked at him while eating the cold snack.
Licking up one side of slowly before handing it to him, licking your lips as you waited for him to take his bite. The soft hums of content that left you as you swallowed it down were like music to Eddie’s ears.
When the ice cream dripped down onto his hand you were quick to grab him, licking the sticky sweetness from his pale skin. Eddie was tempted to take you in the backseat right then and there, but found it in himself to let you enjoy what you wanted so bad.
Eddie blinked quickly as he snapped back to reality.
The reality being you on his bed in only that skimpy little piece of fabric you called a tank top and a little pair of panties.
Even in the coolness of his room, Eddie felt like he was on fire. Cock twitching in his boxers as he watched you smile at whatever you just read, hand moving up to subtly cover your soft lips.
Carefully placing his guitar back up, he walked over to you. He hovered over top of you, resting his chest against your back comfortably.
You tilted your head up at him, barely looking at him before he tilted it back for you. You felt his warm breath against your ear, a series of goosebumps making the hairs rise all over your body.
“Keep reading your little book, sweetheart.” His voice was a hot whisper, “Don’t mind me.”
As his thick arms pressed into the mattress beside you, confusion taking over your previously clear mind. Deciding to not pay much thought to it you kept reading.
Your body froze as you were turning a page, the feeling of Eddie’s hips pressing into your ass ever so lightly flooded your mind.
You could feel his hard length clearly through the thin material of your panties. Part of you wondered if it was an accident, but the logical part of you, the part that knew Eddie too well had an idea of what was going on.
There was no movement for a few seconds, making you wonder if he was actually just adjusting himself. His hips pushed into you again, much harder this time, making your teeth sink into your bottom lip and stay there.
“Eddie..” You whined, the sound of your voice coming out more pathetic than you anticipated.
He rutted his hips against you again, dragging his length along your ass.
“What’s wrong, baby?” He mocks the sound of your voice, whispering right in your ear. His hips finding a gentle rhythm against the black cotton.
“You’re being naughty..” You mumble, eyes closing at the feeling of slick growing between your thighs.
He chuckles deeply, before murmuring, “Me? Being naughty? Never, sweetheart.”
You toy with a page in your book, fingers bending the page back and forth as Eddie confidently rocks his hips into your behind. You can feel his cock twitching against your ass making you desperate to be touched in any kind of way.
Eddie groans in your ear, it’s throaty and dirty, his hands now grip the sheets beside you. His knuckles slowly get paler as he grips them, his breathing picking up.
You let out a soft whimper, moving your hand on top of Eddie’s as you whine.
Eddie smirks to himself, intertwining your fingers as his hips speed up.
“Such an innocent little thing, letting me use her while she reads her book like a good girl.” He says darkly, his strokes becoming deeper and longer.
You close your eyes, leaning your head back against his shoulder. His moans get closer together, his breathing quickening as the familiar small groans of “I’m gonna cum” fill your ears.
His hips stutter as you feel a warmth pressing against you, his body weight resting on you more as he pants gently. He tilts your head to look at him before he kisses your face lightly.”
“E-Eddie!” You smile through giggles, he pulls away as he smiles at you.
“Sweetheart.” He laughs softly, carefully removing his body from yours.
You quickly move so you’re sitting on your knees before shyly whispering,
“My turn.”

The truth is, your parents left you here, on our doorstep. You were this little boy whose whole world was turned upside down with no explanation. We did the best we could, your Uncle Ben and I. I mean, who else was gonna care for you, and protect you and worry about you? Your father? No. I was the one who wiped your nose, and made you brush your teeth, and do your homework, or washed your dirty underwear. Me! Your stupid, non-scientific aunt, who doesn’t know how to make ends meet, who has to take nursing classes with 22-year-old kids so I can pay for you to go to college. And I don’t know how to do this without Ben. I don’t know how. And… And you’re dreaming about your perfect father, who was never here. No.
