Another Country founder Paul de Zwart's country hideaway in rural Dorset from The Modern House on Vimeo.
See how since buying the house with his wife, managing director of creative agency Winkreative, Ariel Childs, 20 years ago, Paul de Zwart has transformed a 17th-century cottage into a refined take on the English country house idiom, with interiors that bear the mark of the couple's desire for contemporary country living, where wellies are as at home as a cocktail shaker.

Architect Barbara Weiss invites us to her inside-out house, a transformed cottage in Wiltshire from The Modern House on Vimeo.
Architect Barbara Weiss likes to do things a little differently. Indeed, the last time we caught up with her was at her upside-down house: a converted pub in Westminster, central London, where she lives on the secluded top floors and sleeps on the lower floors (yes, it’s as brilliant as it sounds). This time, she’s giving us a tour of her latest self-designed home, which she’s aptly titled the inside-out house.

‘A Roman ruin wrapped around a modern concrete house’ – step inside Adam Richards' Nithurst Farm from The Modern House on Vimeo.
Last year, architect Adam Richards revealed Nithurst Farm, his self-designed family home in the South Downs National Park. We’re pleased to share a new film exploring the far-reaching ideas and references that informed the convention-defying design of the house, as well as the intimate realities of daily life in the space, one year on.

The Head of the Bight - Full Film from Patagonia Australia on Vimeo.
Heath Joske is a Patagonia Ambassador who lives, surfs and fishes in the Great Australian Bight. He knows that an oil spill in the Bight would ruin this pristine coastline and has campaigned strongly against Equinor’s plans to turn the Bight into a dangerous, deep water oil field. In this short film Heath journeys west across the Bight coast meeting local fishermen, scientists, surfers and activists who’ve all spoken up loudly in defence of the Bight. Heath’s destination is the Head of the Bight where he meets the indigenous custodians, already displaced by the “black mist” of the Maralinga nuclear tests and now facing another threat to their way of life.

Treehouse from AS - 17 on Vimeo.
Our film for London based architect Scott Kyson.
The film accompanied the 'Treehouse' installation during Studio Kyson's 10th year exhibition 'Beneath the Veneer'.
"The Treehouse is an abstract take on a traditional concept, using a material palette of charred timber (Shou Sugi Ban) and smoked mirrors the installation explores the raw design principles of form, light and texture. Treehouse expresses these through a series of juxtaposed contrasts in solid & void, dark & light, rough & smooth."

Ferryman at the Wall from MEL Films on Vimeo.
A visitor's guide to America's great big border wall.
Originally proposed as an international peace park with Mexico, Big Bend, Texas has a unique relationship with its southern neighbor. For the past 40 years, Mike Davidson has been ferrying tourists across the Rio Grande for a little taste of Mexican life — but now a great big border wall might divide the park.

ANA from Factory Fifteen on Vimeo.
We collaborated with Raw TV on the development of our original take on the singularity, the point where artificial intelligence becomes self aware and more intelligent than the human race. We created a seven minute proof of concept, teasing at a larger project currently in development. Our role developed along the course of the project from consultation and script development, to directing an ambitious live action shoot and finally delivering TV standard visual effects, all in house in the Factory Fifteen Studio.
The film shows one vignette within a bigger picture, highlighting an AI called ANA who deceives Jim, a redundant car factory worker, in giving her full control over the facility. ANA is imbedded into every major manufacturing industry in the world, including medical and food resources. Her seeming betrayal to mankind could be devastating. Only she knows her true intentions.
