Was excited for you guys to show my second one and we’ll here he is!Dr Matthew Millard Who is a scientist an arachnologist in the 1960’s Who is known as the research partner dr cockroach PhD(Hebert/Jaques-Yves)But was captured 3-4 years after Herbert’s capture at 1965 or 1966 due to his fusion between the scorpion(gigantometrus swammerdami)🦂💚

A head canon that Sqweep is bad at improving when it comes to creating anything, science or otherwise. A stark comparison to Dr. Cockroach's skill at putting together inventions on the fly and from random junk.

And I just think that some of that skill rubbing off on Sqweep would be cute. And Sqweep failing with their first improv invention but team monster proud she tried. I just like those thoughts.

Monsters vs aliens drabble. Link and Dr. Cockroach are sweet and Bob gets a camera.

The break room for the monsters was full, sans one monsters of the cockroach man variety. Bob was too excited to share some news to wait for Doctor Cockroach to show up.

"Look what I have!" Bob cried.

Link peered up from the t.v.

"What's with the camera?" Link asked.

Bob held the instant camera up, proud of his new device. 

"Susan gave it to me!" Bob said.

"I thought he might find it helpful for his scrap books." Susan explained.

"That makes sense. Taken any pictures yet?" Link asked.

"Not yet. I wanted to take some pictures in here first with all my fellow monsters. I'm just waiting for Doctor Cockroach." Bob explained.

Link thought a moment.

"Huh... where is the doc?"

The universe sometimes loved good timing because it was at that point Doctor Cockroach showed up. The doc seemed to be in a particularly good mood as he strolled into the break room. He made a beeline for Link after greeting everyone. Once at Link's side he leaned into Link's side.   

"Well, someone's feeling just a bit playful, aren't they?" Link asked.

Dr. Cockroach nodded just a bit. He then moved away from Link. Not far at all. Only far enough that he could offer out his hand.

"Maybe a little." Dr. Cockroach said with a grin. "Join me in a dance?" 

Link grinned back.

"Why of course." Link said.

Link moved to take Dr. Cockroach's hand. With a small movement they were beginning the dance. Not as energetic a dance as the two often did. Something more subdued, romantic. Link was not a master of slow dance but after having the time for Dr. Cockroach to teach him to slow dance, he was getting better at it.

The two continued their dance. Somewhat graceful as at least since Doctor Cockroach knew his way on the dance floor after all. 

From her spot on the couch Susan couldn't help but smile softly. A sweet, soft moment playing out in front of her and Bob. Speaking of Bob, he  was smiling just as much to see the happy couple dancing away. Then he gasped.

"Oh, this is the perfect moment to try out my camera!" he cried.Bob held up the camera and was ready to take the picture. Doctor Cockroach noted Bob was positioned there.

"Wait a moment if you will, Bob. Before you take the picture. I want to do something." Dr. Cockroach  said.

In one fluid motion Dr Cockroach dipped Link.

"I didn't think you were strong enough to dip me." Link said.

"I'm full of surprises. I can't hold this pose for long though. So if you please, take the picture." Dr. Cockroach said to Bob.

Bob grinned and set on the task that Dr.Cockroach had given. Unfortunately that task was a tad too hard for Bob to quite grasp how to do as Bob did not normally handle the camera. This became clear when he started to hum to himself, trying to find the button he needed to press. 

"Bob? Having trouble there?" Link asked.

"No, no, I got it. Just give me  a second." Bob said.

Bob had somehow ended up getting the camera lens to face him rather then Link and Dr. Cockroach. 

"Bob wait. You're going to-" Susan started to say.

Too late. The camera flash went off. Bob screamed and dropped the camera to cover his now temporarily blinded eye. At the same time Dr. Cockroach's strength finally gave out and he dropped Link. Link, reaching out unthinking, grabbed a hold of Dr. Cockroach's shoulder. The sudden weight brought Dr. Cockroach down with him to the floor.

A heavy thud and a loud yelp came from both Link and Dr. Cockroach.

"Ow." Link grumbled from the floor.

"You two okay?" Susan asked.

"Nothing wounded on me but my pride." Dr. Cockroach said.

Link gave a thumbs up to indicate he was fine. Dr. Cockroach got back to his feet and helped Link back to his own feet. Bob came forward.

"The picture looks pretty good too." Bob said, showing the picture on the camera's view screen. 

It was predictably a picture of Bob's eye.

"Well, it is a pretty good picture of his eye." Susan commented.

"Let's frame it!" Bob said.

"I'm not sure I want a picture of Bob's eye watching us all the time in the break room." Link whispered.

"Maybe we can convince him to keep it in his room." Susan whispered back.

Bob did not hear any of this and was still quite pleased with his picture taking skills.

for the mva writing prompt; susan & sta'abi carve pumpkins for halloween?

This turned out to be more a drabble with almost everyone in it, but the prompt did inspire it and I had fun writing it.

The staff Halloween party for area fifty-something was normally not a event that had much decor to it. It was a government base after all and it was not as if there was a task force to decorate. That was until Susan.

Coverton was the only one of the aliens not joining the group. He had heard the words "there should be a Halloween party decoration committee.", realized where this was going, and fled to his quarters while no one was looking at him.

Perhaps for the best as the monsters and aliens were no working on making some Jack' o' lanterns for the party, and Link's chosen scary subject for a pumpkin had been Coverton. Finished with his jack' o' lantern, Link tossed the scraps of pumpkin, pumpkin guts and seeds included to Vornicorn. The alien beast had been laying down close to the cafeteria table, being so quiet and patient. A well earned treat for him and easy clean up for Link.

"There you go, eat up."

As Vornicorn devoured the pumpkin scraps, Link looked over to see what his fellow decorators were doing. He saw Sqweep's pumpkin first as the young alien was closer.

"Is that's a giant F on your pumpkin?" Link asked.

"I can think of no scarier think then getting a F." Sqweep said.

"You know that... fair enough."

Doctor Cockroach had not touched his pumpkin yet. Not for lack on inspiration but rather because Bob needed some help with his pumpkin. Bob had tried many times to cut into his pumpkin. But each time he could not bring himself to do it. It was when he slammed the knife down onto the table and started to sob that Doctor Cockroach had hurried over to calm Bob.

"Maybe carving a pumpkin is just not for you. I so hear some people are drawing on their pumpkins with paint pens these days." Dr. Cockroach said. "No cutting needed."

"Really? I would like that more." Bob sniffled despite not having a nose.

"Okay, Susan, do we have paint pens?" Dr.Cockroach called out.

"Oh of course. I brought some along just in case."

While Susan had not foreseen that Bob would not be able to cut into his pumpkin, she was always about being prepared for anything craft related. With that issue handled, Susan focused back on her pumpkin. 

She had gone down a somewhat traditional route and carved out a bat shape into it. Perhaps a bit too traditional. She was contemplating adding in pink and black polka dots with paint to add some more interest. For that she needed to get her pink and black paint pens from Bob.

Before she could push away from the table and go to retrieve said paint pens, she noted what Sta'bi was doing first. Susan's girlfriend had insisted on working on a pumpkin too. Something Susan had been surprised on at first. Though Sta'bi greatly respected Susan's love and skill at craft, she herself was not so good at it. 

Sta'bi had said it was because blades were involved. It was occurring to Susan that maybe it was also because Sta'bi was trying to make a effort to get into some of Susan's hobbies. Susan herself had been joining Sta'bi on morning patrols after all. 

Currently Sta'bai was stabbing her knife into the pumpkin over and over. Small chunks of pumpkin were flying. Enough that Vornicorn had decided that this now was the space to be for free pumpkin scrap snacks. Susan went to check in oh Sta'bi.

"Hey, how is- oh wow!"

Susan had not expected to see any sort of picture in the pumpkin at this point with all the stabbing going on. But now that she was looking right at it, she could see the there was indeed a picture. Some alien beast of sorts, it's image made up of stab marks in just the right placings, close to each other. A study in a form of pointillism but with stab marks.

"Sta'bi! That's so beautiful!" Susan cried.

Sta'bi grinned, a rare for her expression when blood and battle was not involved. Truly she was proud of herself. As she should be.

"Is one of the most dangerous beasts where I come from. Get too close and you will find yourself without a tongue." Sta'bi explained.

"Perfectly scary then." Susan agreed. "I love it."

"Sta'bi is glad." 

Susan took this moment to stand next to Sta'bi, her head resting on Sta'bi's shoulder as both alien and human stared at Sta'bi piece of art a bit longer.

That moment was interrupted by Bob shouting because he had somehow got one of the paint pens paint in his eye.

Not full on drabbles but a couple of kind of long snippets to do with Dr. Cockroach gaining bug wings.

"I guess I have wings now." Dr. Cockroach said.

Link thought that over a moment.

"Don't worry doc, you'll just wing it." Link said with the biggest grin of someone who knew just what exactly they have done.

Doctor Cockroach groaned but with a small smile on his face.

"That was bad and you should feel bad for it." Dr.Cockroach said.

Link did not feel bad about it judging by his grin just getting bigger. It made Dr. Cockroach grin wider. He was starting to feel better. Which he was now seeing had been what Link had been trying to do in the first place.

"I suppose I could get use to this quick enough." Dr. Cockroach said.

Link's gaze was caught on the effect of the rooms light on Dr. Cockroach's new wings. A stunning sort of shimmer that if one could easily miss if they were not paying attention to them. Dr. Cockroach noted Link's gaze.

"You seem very transfixed by my wings."

"Well..I'm not not into it." Link said.

He raised his brows at Dr. Cockroach, a smirk on his face. The cockroach man knew full well what his lover was insinuating to. And he wasn't not interested in entertaining that thought.

"Let's be quick. Dinner's being served in twenty minutes and I do believe it's taco night." Dr. Cockroach said.

"Oh hell yeah."

2. Dr. Cockroach flew up up to be face level with Coverton.

"Now you see here-" Dr. Cockroach said.

"Oh don't you act all high and mighty with me just because you can meet me face to face now." Coverton snapped back.

Dr. Cockroach was just thinking of something clever to say when he was interrupted.

"Doc, stand down." Monger called.

Dr. Cockroach glared at Coverton but did allow himself to land lightly onto the floor, arms crossed, wings snapping back in place.

"And you, stop antagonizing him." Monger told Coverton.

In the monsters vs aliens mood today, and reworked some old oc profiles for my Link and Dr Cockroach kid ocs.

Gus: son to Link and Dr. Cockroach. He's mostly roach man like, even has tiny extra arms that are normally hidden. A darker muddy brown and green, with a fin on his head and some fins on his antenna. Brown eyes. Clothing wise Gus loves fashion, so is always wearing something different and wild. 

In personality Gus is mellow until he gets fixated onto a project. Then he can get very loud, dramatic, and determined. Not much into sports, rather stay inside thanks.

Echo: Link's daughter from so long, long ago, that turned out to get frozen as well. Link had never thought he see her again. But then her ice block was discovered. 

There was a lot of culture shock for her, and getting use to Dr. Cockroach was something too. 

Look like link except all light green and her fin has blue stripes going down it. In personality sweet, friendly, always wants to help out. Enjoys crafts, and watching and playing football with Link.
