Understanding The Background Of IT Business Consultant.
Counseling refers to intellectual services activities and is intended to provide advice or recommendations on what needs to be done. The consulting sector is a high value-added business service sector, strategic for the overall competitiveness of the economy due to its integration into production processes; this integration grows with the complexity of the solutions that exporting companies have to provide to an increasingly specific demand.
The board excludes here: computer consulting and advice to political groups. It should also be noted that sustainable development consulting is also part of the engineering sector, which contributes to the energy and environmental transition by carrying out numerous environmental and eco-design studies prior to project implementation.

The board includes here:
Strategy consulting
Economic activity aimed at providing business executives (often large) with specialized advice for the definition of a business strategy. Companies use consulting firms, which then send consultants to the client company
Marketing consulting
A service activity that aims to improve the organization and performance, current or future, of a marketing department within a company. Marketing consulting is also used in support of a marketing department, when launching products, or by entities that do not have an internal marketing structure. With new technologies, and the Internet, appears marketing 2.0.
Management consulting
In the area of management, the consultant is a person who has the qualifications and experience to solve a problem in the fields of marketing, production, logistics and transport, computer systems, human resources, finance and management. It is a professional who offers an objective consulting service on a subject of often complex nature in order to assist the managers and the personnel of the companies in the management of their operations.
Cost reduction consulting
A full consulting activity. It intervenes on all the functions of the company and on all the sectors. Its purpose is to reduce fixed and variable costs by finding alternative solutions. The ROI associated with cost reduction missions is frequently higher than 3. In France, this branch of the board is very small.
Sustainable development consulting: appeared since the beginning of the 2000s, with, in France, the legal obligations on corporate social responsibility contained in the law on new economic regulations.
Coaching
Personalized professional support to obtain concrete and measurable results in professional and / or personal life. Through the coaching process, the coachee deepens his knowledge and improves his performance.

5 Bizarre Truth Of IT Business Consultant.
What is a consultant? Independent or salaried? Who can become one? Consultant is a particular job that has its advantages and disadvantages. In one of his articles, explains the disadvantages of becoming a consultant. As a junior consultant, I can make the connection between his words and my experience:

1 - You will be badly treated
People do not like what comes from the outside. A consultant is by definition a person outside the company. Some employees will not like you! I am with two clients, a Japanese insurance and an "old school" software house. It is true that some people do not seem to appreciate us!
2 - get ready to be treated royally
It is true that when a server falls or someone needs to write technical specifications that nobody wants or can not do, the customer is happy to see us.
3 - get ready to have the worst office
Well seen Michael, I happen to work in a "meeting room"! However, I have a laptop provided by the consulting firm that works very well.
4 - you will never be considered an employee
I do not have enough perspective to judge.
5 - be ready to work without help
Once again in the mile. One of my colleagues, a senior consultant, works under an Oracle product. Some employees consider that the consultant "stole" the project. These employees do not cooperate and share the knowledge base that they did not say anymore.
Beside this, the consulting profession has many advantages including that of not knowing the routine and learning constantly.

Things That Make You Hate Data Center Consulting.
The energy efficiency of datacenters and computer rooms can not be treated punctually by system. It is a global energy strategy that starts with the computer component itself, the IT architecture, its possible extension and the air-conditioning concept, which drastically reduces energy consumption. This approach, which we will call Energy Logic, provides a 10-step roadmap for reducing data center energy consumption by up to 74%.
Power consumption of data centers. How to start?
As we know more and more, the increased density and capacity of datacenters adds significantly to the energy bill, both economically and ecologically. A new "Energy Logic" strategy is shaking up the old conventional vision of electricity consumed by data center support systems, including air conditioning , which evaded the question of the efficiency of IT equipment. These absorb more than half of the electricity consumed by the datacenter and determine the needs for air conditioning and other support systems. In fact, Energy Logic proposes to improve the efficiency of IT equipment in the same way as that of support systems such as air conditioning systems. Through this further step, the cascading effect has been highlighted, according to which the energy savings achieved by less consuming devices and components are all the more important as their needs in technical installations are also less important. . Through this analysis, it was shown that 1 W saved at the processor level resulted in a site-wide saving of 2.84 W due to the cascading effect. Energy Logic's ten strategies, working as a unit, reduced data center power consumption by 52 percent while releasing up to 65 percent of floor space.

Energy Logic 2.0
Energy Logic's original approach in 2007 was designed and tested on a typical 500 m² datacenter hosting 210 server bays with an average density of 2.8 kW each. In 2012, a typical datacenter of the same size was used to create the Energy Logic version 2.0 roadmap, which demonstrates all the energy savings possible in a datacenter. From the optimization of the microprocessor to the air conditioning system designed differently. The basic strategy revolves around these principles:
It is by focusing on the critical computer systems that impact the power consumption of the data center that the biggest savings are realized because of the cascading effect.
A datacenter can only work effectively if the energy consumption adapts to the needs.
Data center energy consumption can be dramatically reduced without the use of unproven designs or technologies that reduce data center performance.
The 10 key points to drastically reduce the energy consumption of a datacenter
1. Low power components including processors 2. High efficiency power supply 3. Precise power supply and server management 4. ICT architecture avoiding redundancy 5. Virtualization and server consolidation to adapt at variable loads 6. Power and Inverter Architecture 7. Temperature and Airflow Management 8. Variable Capacity Air Conditioning 9. High Density Air Conditioning 10. Data Center Infrastructure Management
Data center managers can use cascading savings calculations to study the impact that the Energy Logic 2.0 approach can have on their energy consumption.

Here's What No One Tells You About Data Center Consulting.
Why do data centers exist?
In general, a data center is a data center used to store electronic data. To perform this task, many elements are used, such as servers, storage systems, network switches or routers or firewalls.
Companies use it massively to store and archive all the information they process. Email sent and received, online files are also stored in data centers, which are not only reserved for large companies. Moreover, the latter usually have their own centers, for security needs, but also practicality.

How much do they consume in a year?
Operating continuously, with a constant need for electricity to power the various systems, a data center has a large power consumption . This consumption is explained by:
The need to feed all computer systems
- The need to process the production of heat and cool systems through energy-consuming air conditioners
The UFE (French Union of Electricity) estimates that there are nearly 180 data centers in France. According to RTE, the electricity transmission network, the power consumption of data centers in France would have been 3 TWh over the whole of 2015. To meet growing needs, this type of infrastructure is growing more and more, requiring even more energy, year after year.
Across the planet, each country is trying to reduce as much as possible the power consumption needed to run data centers. Green data centers are emerging, even if they remain energy-intensive.
How to reduce the consumption of data centers?
Storing e-mails in your e-mail inbox requires the intervention of a data center. Even if it seems ridiculous compared to the data volume of a large company, it still represents a large amount of data.
To reduce the power consumption of data centers, it is necessary to reduce the amount of data to be stored. For a typical user, this means:
- Make a sort in his mails and delete those which are useless (spams, treated mails ...)
- Do not send useless email (strings, unimportant email transfer ...)
- Store your data on an external hard drive
All of this on a large scale can help reduce the environmental impact of data centers and their strong need for electricity .
Direct Energy offers to pay less for electricity
Switching the electricity supplier will not reduce the power consumption of the data centers. However, it can lower your bills and save you money !
Thanks to the three Direct Energies electricity offers, save between 2 and 10% compared to the regulated tariffs. Classic, Online or Green, each offer adapts to your needs.
You now know what you need to know about the power consumption of data centers. Indispensable everyday, they can not be removed, however it is possible to do a few things to reduce their massive electricity needs.
