Kailani Isabelle Grail | Witch

Kailani and her mother live on the human side of town because it’s the only side that has the ocean shore. They wanted to be close to Kailani’s dad as much as possible, even when he can only be on land for a few days every year. Due to being the hybrid child of a witch and a mermaid, Kailani expressed a much deeper love and magic sense of the ocean than anyone from her coven, but she also did not have a tail or gills to be with her father. The Sohalia Coven treasured Kailani and her family, and they kept close eyes on them to keep them out of danger. Though many know of Kailani’s origin, very few know just how powerful of a witch she is.

Just like the rest of her coven, Kailani’s body contains white marks all over her body to show how skilled she is at her magic. With being enrolled in a human school, however, Kailani uses her magic to hide all of her marks except her clan symbol on her arm. She learned at a young age that she would get dehydrated whenever she would use her magic, many believe it is due to her father’s genes. It is because of this that Kailani ALWAYS has a drink with her, since she is constantly using her magic to hide her markings.

The instant he had discovered this beautiful spot in the forest, Soren knew that there was only one thing that was missing. Taking his fingers to his lips, Soren whistled an almost melodic sound, and in just a few short moment, Quincer flew from the skies above and landed on his master’s shoulder. Quickly Soren wrote onto one of his customized notes, attached it to his companion’s leg, and sent him off. It was only a matter of time until Soren saw those precious golden locks emerge from the trees.

Immediately Soren rushed over to Lucinda and embraced her. The moment seemed almost too perfect; the sun was glistening over them as the morning dew began to drip from the flowers. The smell of nature and Lucinda’s scent filled Soren’s nose as he lifted his eyes to hers. He didn’t need to say anything, Lucinda knew that he was happy to see her. And there was not a single moment that Soren didn’t think that Lucinda was happy to see him as well.

No words were spoken, there was no need for them to speak to know that the feelings they had for each other were real. The desire to be with each other, the curiosity that dwindled in their minds, the pure and burning passion that grew between them was something neither of them had really experienced before. But they knew that without a doubt, this was the right thing to do.

The two were meant to be together.

As if it were her instinct, Alara looked away from her battle to glance over at her beloved, making sure nothing or no one was coming to hurt him. She would not allow it to happen.

She was willing to risk everything.

He had been watching her the whole battle, careful to stay near her in case she needed him. He had just dispatched the Death Eater he was dueling when he caught the green light heading Alara’s way.

“NO!” He shouted, desperation tearing through him like lightning. He disarmed the Death Eater as he knocked Alara away, the green light almost hitting his shoulder.

For a moment, Alara had thought it had hit him.

“Alex!” She cried out.

He looked up at her, looking eyes. He could see the relief spread in them as she realized he was still alive. 

He never let anyone call him anything besides Xander, but she had started using his full name, or Alex lately. He rather liked it coming from her.

Alex looked at her a second longer before turning, stunning the Death Eater that almost took away the only light he had left in his life. He was tempted to do more to him, but he turned back to Alara’s shocked face.

“Are you alright, Lara?” He whispered.

She just nodded before wrapping her arms around his neck. He held her close as her pulled them both to their feet. They stood back to back from then on in the battle.
