And I went accidentally Alderaan on my Tumblr. Here I am trying to build a new one. Oops

Popping in on the old account to show y’all what a mess I am. This is the proof copy of my book, releasing March 20th, and I turned into a complete spaz when I got to see it. Of course, a camera was rolling.

I got to meet my book last night at dinner with my publishers and some other awesome Cobalt City authors. Watch me make a fool of myself!

Hey there HanLeia fam! DO THIS!!
I would love nothing more than to see this site get a barrage of your beautiful OT fic. I know there are some writers among you who would definitely be competitive.
Some other things I know:
Stories DO NOT have to fit in the current Star Wars canon. All your AU and Legends stories are absolutely welcome.
There is no rule about stories posted elsewhere nor about prior awards. Got a Golden Yoda winner somewhere? SEND IT IN
You retain all the rights to your work, so there’s no risk of being asked to host a story exclusively on USW.
The people running the contest are super cool and have been very helpful in my quest to learn more about it so I can share it with you.
Go forth and CREATE (or send in things you’ve already written- there’s plenty of brilliance there for the picking)!
Fan Fiction Contest!
The folks over at Unmistakably Star Wars are hosting a fan fiction contest! Writers of Tumblr, that means YOU could get your fic read my the USW team ad maybe have a piece published on their site. It’s a great way to get your work in front of a broader audience.
Deadline for submissions is February 8th, so you have plenty of time to polish up an entry. Categories are: SHORT (<6000 words), NOVELLA (6000-40,000 words) and COMIC/GRAPHIC NOVELLA (illustrated). Creators are welcome to enter onw piece per category.

Some NaNoWriMo related ramblings
It’s November in five days. Are you doing NaNoWriMo this year? A few thoughts on whether or not NaNo is helpful to your writerly goals (hint: Maybe!).

“Never imagined this,” Han had murmured, sitting up in their bed late at night, Ben’s tiny head resting in the crook of his father’s arm. “Having a kid. Even wanting a kid. But now he’s here, and—” “And you’re a dad.” Leia had leaned closer, unable to resist the chance to tease her husband. “Just think, hotshot. Someday you might even be a granddad.” Han’s chuckle had warmed her. “Speak for yourself, sweetheart. Me, I ain’t ever getting that old.” ― Claudia Gray, Bloodline
Finally I could finish my drawing I started over a year ago. Just loosely based it over this particular moment from the book. It just broke my heart into million pieces.

Last Thursday I had so much fun with a bunch of famous people.
There was even a very serious (read: we were drinking) conversation about Han & Leia's HAPPY marriage in the Aftermath trilogy. Seriously. That happened.
The time I was the only person at the table I’d never heard of before: complete with silly photos!

I'm going to be a big, ugly mess today.
I'm a UNLV Alum. My favorite bar/restaurant/place to hang in the whole world (Red Square) is inside Mandalay Bay. So is my second favorite (The Foundation Room).
I'm sad and shaken.
Please queue up recommendations of fluffy fluffy fluff to post tomorrow. Because I will need them. Today I'm mostly shutting down social media. It's too much.

I wrote a very long and emotional post to go along with this. Tumblr has decided I can’t paste it in. What a great day to have that bug, blue hellsite.
Suffice to say I am grateful to you all for reading and for bearing with me through the madness of the past year (year!) while I’ve been working on this.
This is THE END. And it’s also The End. I will miss writing these fantastic characters, and I will continue to look forward to the delightful offerings from the rest of you (just as soon as I get this manuscript to the editor!).
Fair skies to all of you.

I unfollowed
A few multifandom blogs because there was a lot of OUAT and I was behind. Now I’m catching up and OH MY GODS THERE’S A MUSICAL EPISODE and I’m going nuts.
The good news: I get to re-follow some cool people soon.
