Hot take, but LW being big part of Bridgerton narration and marketing makes me wish they kept polin story for the last or at least after B, E, and F. I know there're many factors: Pen is clearly producers's fave, Netflix famously has problems with keeping the shows longer than three seasons, actors are getting more famous and busier, LW wasn't big part of the books, especially latter ones... But if none of this were important to consider, I think it would be and incredibly satisfying to see the full-ass slow burn and explore deep close friendship and let LW evolve from Gossip Girl to an actual journalist who has a voice to change things for the better.

hilarious part about costumes in s3 is that ladies's dresses mostly seems to have higher neckline than usual. only pen's boobs are allowed to boobing this time. and I think it's fair.

S3 anthony looks to me just a tiny little bit slimer and I gonna headcanon that him and kate are ravishing each other daily as a free intense workout and he doesn't mind to skip lunch sometimes to eat smth more interesting

went to see ghostbusters: frozen empire and it's 3 out 5 for me. I enjoyed it in a moment, but probably would rewatch it only if like... catch it on TV while hanging out with my parents. it's mediocre plot wise, but charming enough and made me want to watch the first part which is allegedly quite good. I feel like old cast fits in nicely and they're there not to just wink at camera and bate people to go to theatres. carrie coon is the love of my life even if she had very little to do. paul rudd was actually sometimes annoying even though I like him usually. prob because the translation was not the best in adapting slang and his dad jokes sometimes felt straight up cringe. the youngest generation was a delight even if they script gave only phoebe smth to truly work with. but gee it's not like the og movies was a master class in psychological depth. it's fun and dynamic, even if never truly creepy. also I felt like lars was designed with egon from 80s cartoons in mind (where he's blond for some reason). and I'm not mad, 12 yo would crush on lars immediately👀

by some reason so many bertha x george aus I came up with are absolutely impossible to take seriously. I don't know what's about these two makes my brain go "yeap, sure, silly is the only way to go". but in no particular order let me introduce you the beasts my imagination created recently:
1. bertha the vampire slayer and unholy in all possible ways centuries old vampire george. okay, she's a hired monster hunter cause girl (and her family) gotta eat, so naturally when the target doubles the price she was promised she lets him go alive (and horny).
2. george is a principal in little larry's elite primary school and bertha is a true soccer mom. she's on every committee possible and is a pain on george's ass, but also he's dying to channel this energy into other useful directions. or alternatively she's the principal and he's a single dad, who have a extreme workload, but yet here he is coaching the team of 6 y.olds just because she somehow talked him into it. bonus points for mr. clay filling him up on business stuff right in a middle of a game and only distracting to enthusiastic cheer when little gladys scores the gall.
3. a truly terrible modern au a la succession where everything is about money and it's a eat rich satire (I guess being reach nodays is automatically cancel the romance in my mind)
4. superhero or the incredibles au where the whole family has superpowers, but bertha and george are historically kind of anti heros. however now, when kids are facing backlash, bertha wants a rebranding for their team to fully goody good guys (at least in a public eyes).
5. parents trap au, where russells divorced ages ago (unrealistic, I know) due to focusing on careers and schedule conflicts. they didn't meet in person in years, cause it's too painful. now someone of the children is getting married and obv they both just have to be there. youth is plotting and matchmaking, but to these two it takes just a look.

I remember all too well how much JF loves milking the drama and give lovers multiple obstacles, so by no means I can believe that Marian x Larry would have it easy. I bet they gonna have massive misunderstanding + possible objections from Agnes or/and Bertha. Ofc in the end on the day Agnes and Bertha would have to work together to help young love come through and that's what their reconciliation arc is.

finally started 'the bear' and richie feels like exactly the man kendall roy would want to be back in season one of 'succession'. except he wouldn't realize that richie is also a little bit of a loser.

at this point I absolutely don't want to know the actual canon story of how bertha and george met and fall in love. this fandom feeds me so well with many wonderful versions from childhood enemies-to-lover to amazing canon divergences. I don't need julian fellowes to tell me his headcanons I already have delicious pick for every mood.

I absolutely adore the contrast between Downton "Everyone is at least somehow right in this situation" Abbey and the Gilded "Everyone is at least somehow wrong in this situation" Age's ways to show conflict

Did you ever just like...
Lenny saw Midge's speech that night and not only empathize with deep topics she talked about, but also fully understood how much he hurt her with rejection of help and empathy. How much she hates that it always either a woman or a comic, either sincere care or acknowledgment by the world. How he of all people, should understand her desire to be more than a gimmick. More than one thing.
Tumblr media
And then in Blue Room, he finally have guts to act on his feelings, because she more important than his pride, his desperate clutching to fullness of life, his cool careless rascal persona. More important than all unspoken rules they had before to keep the safe distance. She is more important than God aka anything that usually helps you and grounds you. Cause at this moment their connection is what grounds him, calms his demons and makes him feel like a man, not a gimmick.
Tumblr media
And then we have Fleabag and The Priest.
Tumblr media
Yeah. For The Priest it's God. Cause sleeping with her not make him calm or grounded or humbled. It strips him down to all messy things inside, all little intrusive thoughts, all the worst instincts. All ugly and raw and full of hunger for life.
But it's not what he wants for himself, it's not what's best for him and what can make him happy in a long run. God is more important than a woman.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lenny looked at Midge and saw the world full of wonders in a single moment in time. The Priest looked at Fleabag and saw that everything will pass.

old hollywood au a la 'Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo' where Bretha built a wonderful acting career all by herself and her personal life is a favorite object of constant gossip, but she for many years is loyal to her long-time lover, film magnate George Russell, whom she refuses to marry, because can't stand the public looking down on her personal achievement due to connection with a such powerful man
