There is a wonderful book published back in 2020 that covers this very subject!!! It is called “The Tragedy Of Heterosexuality”, written from the perspective of Jane Ward, a lesbian feminist. It is fantastically researched, well written, and surprisingly engaging while still providing very good, solid information.

Despite it’s title, the book never aims to cast heterosexual relationships in an inferior light, but only to critique the harmful aspects of traditional expectations and ideals formed by the patriarchy.
