it seemed a little unusual, that you’d really find the perfect place, all the other check marks and lovely amenities secured, and just say no because you weren’t able to escape to the roof. 

but it was a place you always found solace in. 

cold nights overlooking the city or warm, spring days in the sun - and when you first moved in a few months ago, overjoyed to check out your new daily view, you saw one of your other neighbors also had an affinity for the rooftop.

san thought nothing was gonna be able to take his mind off the sinking feeling in his stomach as he watched you drive off with seonghwa, still not 100% sure he did the right thing in letting you leave with him.

but he didn’t know what else to do.

you hadn’t been right today and it’d been obvious to both of them, the look in his old friend’s eyes one he’s never seen before. so fiercely protective and cautious, like he was about a second away from having some sort of breakdown.

but now, rest assured, he was the one about to lose his mind, watching the boy he can’t help but love stroll into the cafe like he has every right to do so.

that had, oddly enough, been the hardest one to deal with. not because you wanted to see them or thought they would miss you but because it almost seemed too good to be true.

[10:37AM] school hallway

"thanks for walking me to class, jeno. i know you have science a few buildings down," you chuckle, flattered yet a little guilty. it shows in the way you let go of his hand to scratch at the nape of your neck, your other tightly clasping the spine of your textbook.

"no," he assures, "my teacher always comes late after lunches anyway." there's a comforting smile on his face but he can already imagine the snickers haechan will give when jeno rushes into the classroom, apologising to mr. min and out of breath from sprinting all the way.

it's seems worth it when you smile back, honey pouring from your eyes with every blink you bat his way. "if you say so." your voice is so shy, speaking through a bitten back smile, unlike how you normally grin brightly at renjun or throw your arms up with jaemin in hysterics.

jeno nods his head and glances into your classroom, seeing not everyone has settled down yet and he can definitely spare a few more seconds. fingers nervously crinkling the notes in his hands, he leans in to press a kiss on your cheek, soft and fleeting yet the touch leaves your skin burning, fizzing.

"i'll come by your locker at the end of the day." he's beyond breathless, chest tight, yet the stuttering agreement you give is too adorable for him to care about losing oxygen.

you scurry through the door with a final peep of thank you and jeno only has five seconds to calm down his flaming cheeks before booking it to his own classroom, no ounce of regret in his bones.

the words had rung in your head for the rest of the night, plopping down on your bed without even a second look from your parents as you thought over tomorrow’s inevitable discussion with seonghwa.

you can convince yourself now that you don’t wanna be with him after everything he’s put you through, that the summer with him isn’t worth it and maybe too much has happened now to revive it.

but truth be told, it doesn’t even matter what you think to yourself right now.

because the second you see him, you know everything will crack the way it always does. your composure and will to resist him when you truthfully just miss his presence.

if you thought your hangover was gonna be the worst part of your saturday, you were sadly mistaken. because you hadn’t accounted for the emotional turmoil you’d be in over seonghwa, remembering how you could barely rip yourself away from him when you saw san run outside looking for you. 

the blonde had all but snatched you away from the boy and gave him a nasty look, his ex friend looking at him with a defeated look in his eye before leaving you two alone. 

“what happened?” he asked quietly, his small hands on your face wiping at your tears. you shake your head as the salty wetness leaks from your eyes, shaking your head before collapsing against him.

“can we please just leave? i can’t be here anymore.”

Naps With Jeno

They aren’t planned

Let’s say your already laying down

And he gets home early from practice

The first thing he does is come into the room where you are and he kisses your forehead 

Then he goes and takes his shower

When he gets out, he isn’t planning on sleeping

Let’s say he has his glasses on, ready to read a book

His first mistake was getting in bed (my bed always seems warmer after I take a shower)

As soon as he got in bed, you shift closer to him and curl up around him

He tries to continue reading

But you start to nuzzle your face into his arm

Now he’s getting sleepy

I’ve said this before: Jeno is the big spoon when your asleep

As soon as he shut his book and takes his glasses off

expect to be pulled either on top of his chest or into that back hug sleep position 

He doesn’t seem like a snorer but he does look like a drooler

And he looked like those people that are naturally warm

So of course you always try to get as close to him as possible when you nap together

I think he’d wake up from naps extremely hungry

Like once he’s up, he’s awake and he wants some food

I don’t think he likes to nap often, so when he sees you laying down and he’s not tired 

He’d pull you into his lap and let you nap there while he plays on his phone or something

 But naps with him would also be a time for the two of you to talk

Like before you fall asleep you and him are just talking about your days

At this point your still facing him, as your talking he’d randomly say how pretty he thinks you are

So I think napping with Jeno would be amazing, cause who doesn’t want to be held in there sleep and be told their pretty?

time went on but the pain never went away. it dulled, for sure, with san incessantly telling you that you deserved better and the piles of work that were being assigned to you.

but you were also doing everything in your absolute power to ignore seonghwa. 

you never lingered before or after homeroom and made sure to never even look in his direction. you drowned out the sound of his voice in class or entire presence when you passed him the hallway. you and san even started to break the school rules and went out for lunch so neither of you had to be reminded of that table.

the one time seonghwa dared come to the cafe, san forced you into the back room and gave his ex friend a piece of his mind. you thought for sure you were gonna have to run out and separate the boys but seonghwa just looked completely…empty and defeated. 

it seemed as if he took san’s words to heart, the blonde speaking them so lowly and harshly you still don’t exactly know what he said to this day. you just know that when you and seonghwa’s eyes met through the small glass window, he looked as sad and broken as you felt inside - but for very different reasons.

 another month had passed of you and seonghwa barely speaking, any time you saw him in the hallway or at lunch actively avoiding his gaze. but he’d become more and more curious about you and san’s relationship, to the point where his friends even noticed his lingering glances toward the table.

“what are you looking at?” yeosang asked curiously, following seonghwa’s gaze and holding back a smirk.

“you just noticed?” mingi asks, “creepy fuck stares them down every damn day.”

“go fuck yourself,” seonghwa growls, kicking mingi’s leg under the table. the two boys look at each other knowingly, quiet snorts and chuckles causing the dirty blonde to roll his eyes.

but mingi is right, he can’t tear his eyes away from you.
