You know I have to ask for a Sheldon fic now right? 👀 can I get Sheldon and reader but it’s platonic? Like reader just finds comfort in listening to Sheldon ramble and rant so they just do their own little thing and sometimes answer back to him? A+ for penny gossip, because we all love penny when she does that 😌 ~🪓 💜
Padding about your apartment, you didn’t think twice when the door opened and closed.
Your first instinct was to head to the kitchen and put the kettle on as you grabbed a mug and a tea bag. It was something you’d picked up from Sheldon, and now you did it whenever he came by.
“Hey Sheldon. Why’re you here?”
“Leonard is on a date with Penny, Amy and Bernadette are out of town, Raj and Howard are avoiding me.”
“What did you do?” You asked.
“I didn’t do anything, apparently I am annoying and sometimes people need a break from me.”
You nodded and handed him the tea as he sat on you couch and adjusted your cushions.
“Tell me everything.”
He began to ramble from the start of the day when he woke up.
Making your way back into the kitchen, you started to clean things up in there while you listened to him talk, a small smile on his face.
Sometimes he would go on a side rant before he carried on with his original story.
“Do you think I am annoying?” Hr asked.
Turning around, you leant on the counter and crossed your arms.
“I think you don’t fully understand peoples feelings, but you’re getting much better at it. But I don’t think you’re annoying Sheldon, if I did I would have asked you to leave.”
“That would not be good hospitality.”
You laughed slightly.
“But it’s true.”
“So you would tell me to leave if I was annoying you?”
You nodded.
“I see.”
Sheldon started mumbling to himself.
Sometimes he had a tendency to overthink situations like this, and you knew it was best to just let him think it out.
After all, thinking is what Sheldon did best.
“Do you know the origins of being hospitable to guests?” He asked.
“Nope. Tell me.”
Sheldon smiled slightly and started to tell you about the earliest findings of humans being hospitable to their guests and you smiled.
Turning around you carried on cleaning, enjoying his little story while you finished your housework.
“That may be how it was but it’s different now.” You replied.
“Well, yes. Everything will always be different.”
“Exactly.” You beamed.
Sheldon simply rolled his eyes at you and picked up the book on your table to begin reading.
Heading over to your couch, you turned the TV on and curled up into a ball as you watched your favourite show.
Without realising you drifted asleep, and Sheldon turned your Tv off, covering you up before he left, nearly walking right into Penny.
“She’s sleeping.”
With that he left.
Penny peaked her head into your apartment and smiled before closing the door.
The next thing you knew you were getting a bunch of messages from everyone saying Sheldon liked you, and he had a soft spot for you and that penny saw him leaving your apartment and all you could do was laugh and roll your eyes
