You monster!
You did this to me!
Doodles of my puppet/Welcome Home OC- Hector Drew!
I have talked about him before on my main blog @sir-subpar but I have since updated his design, as you see in the bottom pictures
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I do ship him with Howdy. At first I did it because I thought it was funny, but the more I thought about it the more fun I had doing it so here I am!
Drew is a punk rocker from New York! He prefers to be called by his last name (Drew) unless you are close with him. He's relatively new to the neighborhood, and first befriends Julie, as her welcoming attitude and fun-loving, rule deviating personality made them click very quickly.
He has a hard time getting along with Wally at first, as his monotone voice makes him hard to read, and something about Wally just seems... odd.
He might be dressed all tough, but inside he's a real sweetheart.

WH COLLEGE AU
Tumblr media
Wally Darling:
He started doing karate a long time ago because he had something really traumatic happen to him, and he doesn't want that to happen again. He wants to be able to protect himself and his loved ones. Likewise, he is a purple belt in karate.
Even though he's the star baseball player. He pushes himself way too much to the best that he could be. He beats himself up way too much if he strikes out for an inning or someone catches the ball when he doesn't get to base on time. Furthermore, he beats himself up for quite a while.
His coach is not nice to him. He's very verbally abusive. He gets in Wally's head and tells him that he needs to do better and that he's worthless and useless and that if he does shit like that again then he's going to be sitting in the dugout. Even though the coaches are just bluffing, and he's not going to do that because he needs his star player. Wally still believes that if they lose a game or have a rough start to a game, then it's his fault.
His other teammates kind of have a sense of how abusive his coach is to Wally, but don't see all of it. They know that they can't really stand up to coach or else they're going to get chewed out as well. His team tries to comfort Wally, but Wally never really seems to want to talk about it.
Even though, Wally is excellent at karate and gets better every day. He refuses to do any tournaments. He's only learning more just to protect him and his friends. (yes even Hector)
I'm thinking of the traumatic thing that happened when a sorority got mad that Wally wouldn't join them because he was starting to be more popular and more respected as a baseball player. They got mad that he wouldn't join the sorority, and they did a horrible prank on him.
Wally is someone that works hard to get into the position that he is in. He pushes himself way too far and there's been times when he passes out due to stress. There have been many times when he's passed out and the rest of the friend group panic and frantically try to get someone to take him to the hospital.
Wally has ADHD and autism, and it's really hard for him to focus on class. He doesn't tell his friends that he has autism because it's very heavily stigmatized. His teachers know that he does struggle with class, but they usually chalk it up to him being boring and focusing way too much on his sports. They often criticize him and often yell at him and go ballistic. Even if he gets a good grade like a bee, his teachers will still criticize him and tell him to do better.
He refuses to ask for help because a lot of the teachers are very condescending and extremely rude. If he asks them, sometimes the teachers will outright refuse and tell him to figure it out. Oftentimes, when Hector is not home and probably partying, Wally will just go to his dorm room and cry.
He has this very awful, toxic positivity mindset. Everyone on campus sees him as someone who's very gentle and calm and sweet. But people don't know how much anger and sadness he keeps inside. He hates it when people see him being mean or snarky to other people. That's why he tries to hide his interactions with Hector and other people that he doesn't like. He believes that he has to keep this image of him being calm, gentle and sweet all the time, even though they are genuine traits of his personality. He suppresses the more negative side of his personality.
Wally's baseball team is called the HotShots.
He used to be an angry kid and people that knew him in in middle school. A lot of people would pick fights with him, and he would get sent to the principal's office a lot. He would get bullied a lot by the way that he acts, walks and talks. People relentlessly bullied him and when he started beating them up they didn't bully him anymore, but he had a reputation of being an angry and violent person.
He is very stubborn and refuses to ask for help. He tries to do everything himself. Even when his friends help him and disregard his wishes he still gets kind of grumpy but also appreciates the help.
He's very sarcastic and makes a lot of snarky remarks a lot of the time. People can't really tell whether he's being serious or sarcastic because he has such a low and monotone voice.
He's extremely clingy and cannot handle his separation anxiety. For a while his friends were talking about going to different colleges after high school and he begged and convinced them to go to the same college. He's trying to work on being less clingy towards his friends but it's really hard since his friends got him through some pretty tough times.
He catastrophizes things a lot and always thinks that something bad is going to happen. He has really bad panic attacks but people don't see it and it's usually silent in his head.
Even though everyone sees them as Mr perfect and someone that can do no wrong. Wally has a lot of expectations to uphold too. He's constantly pressured to be the best! He is constantly pressured to be how everyone views him!
Even though he's a baseball player and he's most known for that he's also known for being a great artist. Art is one of his other passions that he loves but he doesn't really always have time for cuz of other school activities.
My main inspiration for this specific version of Wally comes from the actor au. (Because I love that au and I love that artist)
