"No, Happy Endings..."

"Fantasy becomes reality, and reality becomes a nightmare."

"Past stories define them; but the future is for theirs to decide..."

"Our beloved fables grew up... so did their world."

I've been making a whole reimagination of the " "FABLES" world and the game "The Wolf Among Us" It was this idea after replaying it for the first time after years when I watched my friends older brother play it, stuff I shouldn't have been seeing as a second grader but it stuck in my mind, and considering that the comics ended and TWAU 2 isn't having any further new... better time than not to make a new era,

"Fables and Fairytales get adaptations and remade wouldn't it be ironic to do that with the series." Is what I thought, It was a combination of playing TWAU along with other driving influences like "American McGees Alice", and watching Tim Burtons "Batman" and "Batman Returns."

Now this is not a fan made sequel, but a whole new thing with characters neglected or never shown, new aesthetics and vibes, new relationships, Villains, and from the ground storylines (besides Adaptations/ Retellings of the Crooked Man Story Arc, Fables vol 1 and 2, along with some Cinderella stories) If you wish to see more or know more message me here on Tumblr, See you soon Mundies and Fables alike.

"The downfall of The Wolf Among and the downfall of Telltale"

Now before I go further there are no personal attacks or calling out! This doesn't go for everyone, I also apologize if this drags long? Purely from personal experiences from reddit and other spaces, stuff I've seen myself, I also felt like writing my experiences and observations cause I find opening up to be a pretty good thing wether it brings new information to me or others, on with my observation and analysis.

The Long Hiatus and Telltale’s Collapse– The cancellation of The Wolf Among Us 2 in 2018 after Telltale shut down was a huge blow to fans. Even after the revival in 2019, there was little news for years, which left people frustrated and cynical. The long wait has led to pessimism, arguments, and burnout in the fandom.

-Toxic Ship Wars The Bigby x Snow vs. Bigby x Nerissa (or even Bigby x Bloody Mary) arguments have gotten out of control. Some people treat any deviation from Bigby/Snow as heresy, while others deliberately antagonize those fans. It's led to gatekeeping, harassment, and general toxicity.

Canon vs. Headcanons – Some fans get aggressive when others have different interpretations of the story or characters. This is especially bad when people treat the comics (Fables) as the ultimate canon and dismiss the game's narrative choices, even though Telltale left things ambiguous. Causing ruckus on what should be canon and what isn't due to lack of new content.

Overhyping and Disillusionment– The fandom hyped up The Wolf Among Us 2 for so long that when actual details started coming out, some fans became nitpicky and overly negative, feeling like it won’t live up to their expectations. The opposite crowd would be doing the exact different and butting heads with the opposing side.

Echo Chamber of Negativity – Like many fandoms, negativity can snowball, and complaints about the game, the company, or even other fans can take over discussions, making it feel like the community is always at war with itself while not a huge war like most big fandoms it's at best a fight.

Comic Book Purists- and how they're against the game or not feeling it lines with the comics.

Lastly the Willingham v DC- disputes that are ongoing. Over who owns the IP as a whole.

Personally I don't know who's to blame? As my friend told me; "Honestly I don't like playing the blame game, in this case it just feels like a cautionary tale about a franchise with great potential that was unfortunately never really expanded upon and left forgotten. Unfortunately unlike something like happy tree friends, which still had a Fandom so large that they actually brought it back, TWAU/Fables is way too niche to be brought back especially since the companies that own it don't really know what to make of it." Which I think sums the whole situation of both companies, creators, and fandoms.
