Tokyo Revengers Hair Colours
Tokyo Revengers fairly closely follows real life hair chemistry (colours) and physics (hair styles). Eyes are another matter, there’s a lot more artistic liberty taken there. Izana has purple eyes and doesn’t have pupils, some characters have slit pupils like a cat, Kazutora has giant rectangles for pupils. Very few characters have eyes that are brown, which would be most common colour. Eyes definitely follow anime rules, but hair has stuck pretty much to real world rules.
This, of course, isn’t a definitive list, but I thought it might be helpful. And it’s just for fun.
✨ So, let’s look at who has (probably) done what to their hair ✨
Here’s a super basic overview on hair colouring (*not a cosmetologist):
Hair colour levels go from 1-10 generally, with 1 being the deepest natural ‘black’ and 10 being platinum blonde.
BLEACH is used to lift colour and lighten hair.
Bleach can only lift so many levels in one application. It’s incredibly difficult to go from level 1 to a level 9. It’s not impossible, but more likely than not one’s hair will be bright yellow (like Takemichi) or orange, at first, if it doesn’t lift enough. Toner is used to colour correct unwanted brassy tones.
Bleach is what is used for highlights.
HAIR DYE is used to deposit colour onto hair.
Permanent hair dye (chemically alters the hair strand forever, deposits colour molecules into the hair cuticle)
Semi-permanent hair dye (lasts a few weeks, uses developer to bind the colour to the surface of the hair cuticle)
Semi-permanent dye can also be a conditioner like long-lasting stain e.g., Manic Panic or Arctic Fox.
Demi-permanent hair dye (very mild on hair uses 10 vol developer, deposit only, will not lift, great for covering greys)
Temporary hair dye (just a wash of colour, cannot penetrate hair cuticle, comes out after a few washes)
Eyelashes and Eyebrows
Eyelashes CANNOT be bleached safely. It’s dangerous and pointless. Mascara exists for a reason.
Therefore, characters with light eyelashes and light hair, most likely have naturally light hair.
Eyelashes can in theory be dyed with semi permanent dye like Manic Panic. Would not recommend. Also, semi permanent hair dye stains skin (and everything). Mascara works better and is cheaper than a hospital visit due to an unexpected allergic reaction. I can only find photos or examples of people with light eyelashes getting them professionally tinted black, but Sanzu could have gotten them tinted pink, I suppose. Or it’s mascara.
Eyebrows CAN be bleached and dyed *relatively* safely, and there’s even bleach formulated for the face. I don’t know if it’s actually intended for the brows. But I’ve bleached my brows plenty of times and it was fine. This is not advice to go out and bleach your eyebrows; don’t put chemicals that give off fumes next to your eyeballs.
Dark hair and dark eyes are the most common features on the planet, but it’s also possible for someone of an ethnicity that doesn’t typically have lighter features to be born with light hair or light eyes naturally without having other ancestry mixed in there. Just because a country seems homogenous to foreigners doesn’t mean that it isn’t very diverse. This also applies to skin tones. But multi-ethnic/biracial people do exist as well. For example, Izana and Emma are both biracial.
*see end notes for more info
I’m going to use the levels as a general guide as to what range a character’s natural hair colour would likely fall into: blondes, mid-tone brunettes, and dark brunette-black.
Blondes | Light Hair
NATURALLY LIGHT HAIR (UNDYED)
Sanzu (blonde as a child, eyelashes)
Senju (blonde as a child, eyelashes)
Inupi (blonde as a child, eyelashes)
Akane (eyelashes)
Mikey (blonde as a child)
Emma (blonde as a child)
Izana (blonde as a child, eyelashes)
South (blonde as a child)
Mana & Luna
NATURALLY LIGHT HAIR (DYED)
Mitsuya (based on his sisters having light hair as well, and his hair was light when he met Hakkai and Draken when they were kids; we haven’t seen it animated yet, but his hair is pretty silver/lavender, so it seems like he dyes it, or at least uses blue/purple shampoo to get it silver)
Sanzu (when it’s pink)
Senju (could be artistic liberty showing her hair as lavenderish to represent white, like Gojo from JJK. Or she just dyes her hair)

Rindou may dislike Ran for being older bro who steals all the glances, but the fact is that you, as a reader, can’t imagine one without the other and I love it.
Also, Ran is best big bro in the manga rn at least he is trying to protect Rin as much as he can meanwhile Shinichiro (doesn’t giving single feck that his little bro rip someones mouth open) and Takeomi (who completely as it seems abandoned Sanzu, turned towards Senju and scolded him for seemingly breathing).
So yeah, Ran is best big bro, and out of all these people with issues, I would pick him to be my big bro as well. At least if we are in something, we are in it together, no abandonment.
