not to be a killjoy but it's still crazy to me that it's considered mean to be like "maybe you should read / play / watch the source material before creating fanworks and diving into the fandom" bc every time i see somebody going "i havent played disco elysium or know anything about it tbh but uwu here's harry and kim kissing" idk maybe you should engage with it. maybe you should play the anti-capitalist surrealist game where you investigate the murder of a mercenary who led the gang rape of a foreign girl and process that for a bit? and then you can do cutesy mlm or whatever idc. but like at the absolute bare minimum you should understand what the source material involves otherwise we get the phenomenon of people joining a dragon age server and wanting content warnings for like, mage racism. like it's fine to ship and transform the genre into whatever but if you arent comfortable with discussions of the actual source content itself then maybe the fandom isnt for you and a different one is. peace and love.

*ੈ✩‧₊˚ major update on the lilyport barn! can never forget about the lilyport barn. she has finally started oxidising on the mass! the front of it has, at least (the back is still very much orange). i hope this way, you can all see the vision i'm going for. loving the way that roof is looking when accompanied by the colourful paths, the windmill (still waiting to get oxidised itself), and the little patches of crops i've been building to make this fairly flat land livelier.

One thing I enjoy about bloodborne is the psychological aspect. If you want to survive the hunt, you need particular outlooks and philosophies to act as psychic insulation against the pervasive madness. The madness isn't arbitrary, it's a tightrope.

You have to enjoy hunting enough that you will not hesitate, but you can't enjoy it too much, or you go blood-drunk. You need to be curious, but sober enough to know when to look away, lest you get brain worms. You need to treat it like a job to the point where you can compartmentalize, but not enough that you're easily manipulated by greed. You have to embody humanity through dress and action, but not so much that you become an arrogant zealot obsessed with purity.

Im not really going anywhere with this, that's just such an interesting way to define your protagonist. Especially for a story so obsessed with gothic excess and uberviolence.

you hate the veilguard because you're transphobic. i hate the veilguard because it does not live up to the socio-critical quality of previous games, but rather simplifies complex dichotomies, seeks to eliminate all kinds of life-like problematics, and superficialises full and intricate ideologies and identities into a form that is easy for the masses to chew on. we're not the same.

whats ur favorite monster, and would you like to share anyfacts about you getting into monster hunter

My favorite monster is Nergigante. The goat. The best to ever do it. Look at this hulking beast. It has more spikes than it knows what to do with. It's like a big cat crossed with a dragon, crossed with a gargoyle, and on steroids. Pure "monster." But I love its place in nature even more. Its only purpose in life is to kill other dragons and keep them from disrupting the ecosystem. Dude is a protector. It's the white blood cell keeping nature safe from infection. The eater of elder dragons. When you figure this out, you realize killing it was objectively the wrong move. And there's only ever one of them, too. If it dies, one of its discarded horns will grow into a new one. It's a constant. A rule. A force of nature. Love this fucking thing.

As for trivia, my brother @demegods got me into the series, back in winter of 2018. He recommended World to me, and taught me the ropes. I've since played the series far, far more than he has.
