your fingers shake as you take out your phone and the shaking grows worse when you can't turn it on. it dawns on you that it's probably been off for quite some time now and new wave of anxiety comes crashing down. people were probably been calling, god, dino probably called thousand times; why do you never take your charger with you? why do you never check the battery before going out? your heart squeezes uncomfortably in your chest as you stare dumbly at the black phone screen. the main point is to calm down. what did all these tiktokers say? right, regulated nervous system, big breaths, no anxiety. easy to say, impossible to do when your lungs want to collapse at this very same second. the ringing in your ears is so loud, you don't even hear nearing footsteps, nor do you react at your name being shouted four times. only when pair of strong arms grab you by the shoulders and twist you around, only then ringing stops.

'where the fuck have you been?!' dino's shout is loud enough to make you flinch. his eyes are wide and angry, his breathing is erratic like he ran all the way to you. by the sweat on his forehead you realize that he probably did. 'why aren't you answering my calls?!'

it paralyzes you, this anger. rationally you know that dino is mor worried than he is angry, but rationality took a step back when anxiety decided to take the reins. dino practically radiates anger as his gaze sweeps by your body once, twice - checking for any injuries. his mouth is moving, but you can't hear a thing; you close your eyes trying to come back to reality. you focus on dino's hands - warm and gentle despite him being angry, the way they caress your shoulders, how they lovingly hold your wrists. you focus on dino's voice - anger already bled out from it, leaving only worry behind.

'look, all i'm trying to tell you i- oh god, no, please don't cry,' his arms are suddenly on your waist, pulling you close until your face is tucked securely on his neck.

you don't even notice that you started crying - the way tears fill up your eyes is almost surprising. but when you notice it you can't stop; it's like something broke inside of you and all the tension finds it's way out in form of tears. dino holds you through your weeping with an unwavering strength, his grip on you never once went lax. his hands roaming your back gently served like a reminder that he is here, with you. 'it's alright, let it out, i'm sorry, baby, i'm here' whispered in your ear were like soothing balm to your heart.

'good?' he asks, when you calmed down. he places small kiss on top of your head. 'you with me, baby?'

'y-yeah.' you breathe out, but still prefer to hide your face, not looking up. 'i'm sor-'

'no,' he interrupts forcefully, tightening his grip on you. 'don't say it. i am sorry for checking, for not finding you sooner. and sorry for scaring you with my shouting, i was looking for you for hours and your turned off phone really made me-' he pauses, taking a deep breath. 'made me think of- very bad. things. and i'd rather die than let something happen to you, so. i'm sorry baby. i love you, you're feeling better?'

you do and don't at the same time. you're exhausted mentally, but having dino around, hearing dino tell you that he loves you is the best feeling in the world. but you still want to crash out in your bed, preferrably with his arms wrapped around you. 'can we go home?' you ask in a small voice, finally looking up.

the amount of love in dino's eyes makes your heart sing. he looks at you like if you asked for the moon right now, he'd get it. 'of course we can, baby,' he whispers, smiling at you gently. 'of course.'

WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE???” His manager is off-screen making slicing motions like “stay professional”, and the staff is giggling in the background, but he’s already grinning so hard his cheeks hurt. “You bought a call slot??? I—BABY YOU’RE SO CUTE I’M GONNA CRY.” You were planning to flirt? Good luck with that because he’s too busy freaking out, taking screenshots, and showing the staff: “LOOK AT MY BABY. MY PARTNER. scoups - all it takes is one look. you lock eyes with your boyfriend from across the room and he's immediately saying his goodbyes. he's quick to pat shua's arm and lean in to tell jeonghan goodnight right in the other man's ear before making his way back through the crowd towards you. you don’t have to say the words, your boyfriend can read you like a book. there doesn't even need to be a reason, if you say you want to leave he isn’t asking questions. not until you’re home and wrapped securely in his arms. seungcheol is just slipping an arm around your waist and waving to your friends, stating that you're taking him home for the night. he's happy to take the blame if it makes you more comfortable and avoids any awkwardness or tension with anyone. it makes him feel like he's protecting you and being useful which he loves (let the man feel needed). will pout and feign being tipsy if anyone questions him. he's so cute they just let him get away with it so they don't have to endure any whining.

jeonghan - the king of distractions. all you have to do is lean in and whisper that you're ready to leave and he's planning an elaborate escape. give him ten minutes to find a way to convince everyone he's drunk, feeling sick or to make up some other plausible excuse and start playing it up. no one asks any questions as you escort your boyfriend out to the car. in fact, most of them wish you good luck and offer to help you bear the weight of a dramatic jeonghan who has gone all out in his acting. they'd rather know less. it works flawlessly every time, giving him an excuse to bicker with his friends while you take none of the heat or attention (except in private, he will tease you about it for weeks whenever he's sure that you’re both alone bc you're adorable when you're angry and you can never stay mad at him).

joshua - teases you at first until he realizes you're serious. when you've hit your limit for the night or are just ready to call it quits he's there with an arm around your shoulders to act as a buffer from the overstimulation around you and a quick joke to divert everyone's attention. he throws around his charming smile and says something like he’s tired and you’re humouring him. no one blinks at his dramatic yawn or the way he clings to you pretending to be sleepy as you take your leave. he will use this as an excuse to be clingy when you get home but he's too cute to be annoyed at about it and too good at making your exit so seamless than no one bats an eye no matter how early you might have left bc well that's just shua. he will get louder and more dramatic the more they delay him so to avoid a scene (and a headache) your friends just wave or pull you into goodbye hugs and tell you to get home safe.

hoshi - whines and complains about how he’s tired, or plays up his drunkenness until your friends are practically begging you to take him home. they just want peace and quiet and to not have someone trying to kiss them every time they turn around. he's such a lightweight that no one finds this even remotely suspicious it's just soonyoung being soonyoung. and honestly sometimes you are genuinely dragging his drunk ass home. his friends have piggy backed him or helped you get him to the car enough to know it’s true. you may have to bribe him with a little affection but at the end of the day he just wants you to be comfortable and he'll do whatever it takes to make sure you're happy. plus any excuse to be extra clingy with you and he is all over it no questions asked grinning like an idiot about how lucky he is. he probably rambles all the way home and ykw you're not even mad ab it bc he’s so endearing.

jun - more than happy to redirect all the attention (and any teasing) his way. he doesn't even have to try to hold everyone's full attention. will whine and bury his face in your neck like you can save him when really he's smiling against your skin bc no one is bothering you ab leaving. makes it easy to take his hand and tug him out of there. no one really even processes you being the one to lead him out unless they're commenting that he's whipped and frankly that doesn't bother him bc yes he is what are they going to do ab it? is smiling the whole way home and asking you how he did the second you're in the front door.

wonwoo - king of the quiet exit. he doesn't even bother saying goodbye unless someone notices, lacing your fingers and leading you out without a word. he stays close to make sure you don't get lost and bc he can see the way to the door over any crowds. presses a kiss to your temple and effortlessly helps you navigate through any busy areas, one hand on the small of your back or resting on your elbow as he steers you around obstacles you haven’t noticed. his height and the bored expression on his face working as a shield so no one really approaches you. he'll text the gc when you're in the car so they know you’re both alive but he's more concerned ab getting you home safely and making sure you're not uncomfortable first.

woozi - is frankly thrilled to have you agree that it is time to get out of there. no one even questions that it was totally his decision or tries to wheedle you into staying longer bc they know once jihoon makes up his mind he's not changing it. everyone waves their goodbyes as your boyfriend holds onto your hand all the way to the car. he is not risking losing you in the crowd or having someone distract you with a conversation that will mean he has to stick around bc he will wait for you. lets be real this man is tired and his social battery is running low at all times the minute you suggest leaving he's mentally out the door already and he will insist on getting an uber so you can be backseat princesses the entire ride back together (he will be on his phone or napping but yk).

dk - nods and checks that you're okay, that you don't need anything else too, before wrapping an arm around your shoulders and guiding you to get your things. he's not letting you go. will drape his jacket around your shoulders and keep you close as he says his goodbyes to your friends. if anyone asks he'll pull out his best acting skills, say he's tired and make a joke or ten until everyone forgets what he said anyway bc they're too busy laughing or complaining that he's so cheesy. he's yapping the whole way back to the car and probably the entire ride home. he's just happy to get you to himself bc as much as he loves his friends it's not the same. you're definitely stopping for a midnight snack on the way back.

mingyu - throwing you over his shoulder and leaving without any delay. his friends will figure out that he left and if he runs into anyone on the way out they can relay the message. when they ask where he went he's pulling a you looked too good in that outfit and he's impatient. they're well aware of his pathetic horny bastard ways and will accept this answer at face value. somehow despite being mentioned you never end up taking any of the heat but your boyfriend is going to get teased about this for months. it's worth it but he will be pouting to you. at least he's tall enough to see the exit and big enough to make the crowd move out of his way so there's no getting stuck halfway to the door. he will insist on staying stuck to your side or holding your hand the entire way home and whine ab how you hate him if you let go.

minghao - you give this man a look that says you're done for the night and suddenly he's decided everyone is too loud and he needs his beauty sleep. you're coming along no room for negotiation his friends can find their own y/n he is gatekeeping you all to himself for the rest of the evening. he's made up his mind. he holds your hand as he walks you out, muttering the whole way bc god forbid he forgets to let his friends know (lovingly) that they're annoying and draining his social battery. hao always wants to go home so no one is surprised ab his choice to leave early. will whine ab his day when you get home and ykw he deserves to have his drama queen time flopped back on your bed while you get unready.

seungkwan - will take a little convincing bc he does love his social time but give the man doe eyes and he's tripping over himself to make excuses to get you home immediately. will start a fight with anyone he has to (verbally at least) just to have a reason to leave all disgruntled, grabbing your hand and dragging you out with him. he's only a little annoyed, pacify him with a little snack on the walk back to your shared apartment and he'll be back to his happy chatty self in no time. if he's tipsy he is going to cling, just let him. never letting you live it down but will only tease you ab it when your friends aren't around. mostly enjoys annoying you bc you're cute when you roll your eyes at him and he usually gets some kind of kisses out of it in the end. secretly loves being your knight in shining armour and is happy you rely on him.

This is my personal opinion and perspective. It may not accurately reflect their real-life personalities or behaviors.

Dino has that boy-next-door charm with a twist of high-energy chaos. You never quite know when he’s going to drop into the room with a goofy smile and a dance move, but you always know it’s going to make your day a little brighter. Pretty sure SEVENTEEN would affectionately bully the fuck out of him for this, but that’s what makes it adorable, right?

Dino’s the kind of boyfriend who’s got your back, no questions asked. But whenever you would smile at him, he felt in heaven. 

“- Y/N ? Can I ask you something ?”

You were filling up your glass with water in the kitchen before going back to the living room to continue watching the movie you started with your friends. But Jun saw this as the perfect opportunity to finally ask you out. 

“- Yeah, of course. What is it Junnie ?”

Jun took a deep breath, trying to ease his nerves and stop his hands from shaking so much. But he couldn’t help it. You were always shining so bright that he felt both blinded by the light and lucky to know you, to get to be around you.

“- I… I was wondering if, maybe, you wanted to… To go to the cat café. With me. I mean, just us. You know, as a date.”

His cheeks gradually became redder and redder, and your smile widened everytime he fumbled over his words. You sat down your glass of water on the kitchen counter before looking back at Jun, who was still staring at his feet and blushing like crazy.

And Soonyoung loved how domestic that felt, he loved it so much that he wanted it to be that way everyday. Would it be too much to ask ?

→ It wasn’t like Soonyoung’s feelings were something hidden. Everyone could tell that he was in love with you, it was as obvious as the nose being in the middle of the face. But you made it more complicated, you made it ambiguous, and you made Soonyoung question himself, and your relationship, and what you truly felt for him. It was hard to decipher what was real and what was only in his imagination.

“- So Y/N, when are you going to put this poor Soonie out of his misery ?

- His misery ? What are you talking about ?

You looked at Seungkwan, dumbfounded. Soonyoung had a crush on you ? And it was so evident that everyone seemed to know about it except you ? How could have you missed that ? You stayed right there as Seungkwan explained all the things that you and your bestfriend did that seemed to the outside world like you were dating, things that you never saw under a different light until today.

This may not have been the best way to bring up the subject, but you didn’t have anything better in mind for now, still shaken by your friend’s revelations. Soonyoung sat in the middle of the practice room, speechless.

→ Silence was part of Minghao’s routine. He loved having quiet mornings, where the only sounds were the one of the coffee machine and of the birds chirping coming from the open window. He preferred to spend a calm afternoon and night in his room, with jazz music playing softly and a book to read. Whenever he felt overwhelmed or that he needed a moment, silence was his safe place. 

“- I’m going to the bathroom, wait for me.”

You rose up from the couch and disappeared in the hallway, Minghao following you with his eyes until he could no longer see you. Sometimes he wondered if his silence bothered you, if the fact that he preferred to say “I love you”  through actions rather than words was something that troubled you.

“- What's going on in your mind, pretty boy ?”

He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't even realize you had come back, settling beside him again. You rested your head against his shoulder, and Minghao looked down at you.

“- Nothing, don't worry. I just… I love you, you know ?”

You smiled up at him, in that way that always made his heart speed up like crazy, in that way that made him look like a lovesick fool.

Your tone was soft, and your hand felt even softer against his cheek.

→ You had a habit of always coming to support your boyfriend on the last stop of his tours. You were always in the crowd, with a proud smile on your face, your lightstick and your vocal chords to scream to your favourite songs. But for the first time, you couldn't be there. 

Minghao tried to not let it get to his head - it wasn't that deep. But your little tradition was broken and it just didn't feel the same. So when he got off stage and thought he heard your voice, he stopped in his tracks. He thought he hallucinated, but he could have recognized your voice even among the chaos backstage.

A few seconds later, you were coming out from one of the dressing rooms, with a huge bouquet of flowers in your arms.

→ The first time Chan danced with you, he fell in love with your dance style. And the first time Chan got to spend some time alone with you, he fell in love with every little thing about you. He tried so hard to convince himself that it was just a casual friendship, just the start of something cool and nothing more. But deep down, he knew it was much more, way more. 

“- And there, you will have to grab my waist and lift me up to the other side.”

As you explained the dance Chan was supposed to perform with you for one of his solo stages, he felt like his brain malfunctioned at the mere mention of his arm around your waist, or of you being so close to him. 

“- Are you okay Channie ?

- Uh… Yeah, yeah… Can you show me the lift ?”

You showed him the video again before you went to try it out. You could almost feel Chan’s hand shaking against your waist as he grabbed you to perform the lift. It all went great for the most part, except that you landed unsteady and that Chan had to hold you closer to him to prevent you from falling to the ground. 

“- You alright ?

- Yes, thanks to you.”

Your laugh died in your throat when you looked up and realized how close your faces were. Your hand had slid down from his shoulder to his chest, and you could feel his heart beating just as fast as yours. Time seemed to stop for a few seconds, and then you detached yourself from him. But the tense atmosphere lingered, and it never left.

→ Chan was not the best at handling a crush. Actually, he was the worst. From now on, whenever he had to practice with you, he couldn’t help blushing every time you touched him, for the sake of the choreography or not. He couldn’t help stuttering whenever you asked him a question, and he couldn’t help the way he was avoiding your gae at all cost. 

“- Channie ? Can we talk for a second please ?”

He stopped in his tracks - the nickname making his heart skip a beat, as usual - as he was ready to leave the room the second you were finished with your practice. But he still nodded at you, already nervous because the type of talks that started like this were never good for anyone. 

“- Did I do something wrong ? Because you’ve been really distant lately, and I was wondering if maybe I… I don’t know.”

Chan wanted to curse himself out, to facepalm himself or to dig his own grave right here, right now. Yes, he was definitely the worst at handling a crush. Because he made you believe you were the problem when really, the problem was him and his uncontrollable feelings. 

“- No ! No, I promise you didn’t do anything wrong. It’s… It’s nothing. 

- No, tell me. Maybe I can help you.”

You were too kind for your own good, definitely. And Chan just couldn’t resist your angelic smile and your pretty eyes.

Your giggles echoed around the practice room, and Chan felt like he was on the verge of passing out. 

“- You should’ve told me sooner.”

His brain didn’t even have the time to process the words that you stepped forward and stood on your tippitoes to be able to kiss him. And for once, Chan was glad to be an idiot.

chan walks into the bedroom with a towel sitting on top of his head, pajamas loose on his body. “are you sleepy? do you want me to help you?” he asks, sitting next to you on the bed. you look up at him and nod, eyes already closed.

“okay,” he says, smiling, getting up to grab a dry towel and your hairbrush.

when he sits back down, you’re exactly as he left you, and he helps you to sit between his legs with a chuckle. “relax, baby..” he begins parting your hair, taking your brush to the ends. “channie will take care of you.” he’s mostly speaking to himself, and he knows that with the way your head keeps tipping, but moments like this are therapeutic for the both of you.

“i hope you had a lot of fun today.. i know i did.” he pats each section of hair dry with the towel after brushing, tying it off to the side to finish the rest. “we did a lot, so it makes sense that you’re so tired.. it’s okay though, you can sleep, i’ll finish getting you ready for bed.. are you actually sleeping? if you are, you’re really good at keeping your head up while asleep- oh, maybe i should quiet down…”

as he gets through your hair, he continues talking, rambling on about today’s events, eventually switching topics to everything he has planned for the rest of the week. you’re awake, but barely, clinging onto consciousness to feel the brush on your scalp, his hands weaving through your hair, and his voice floating through your ears. if he asked you what he was talking about in the morning, you’d have no idea, but it doesn’t matter. you’re just here to be comforted and cared for by him, and he’s here to do the taking care of— he’s yapping for himself, not to get a response.

“all done.” his voice is so soft, hands gently pulling all your hair back and tying it up for you to sleep in. it took lots and lots of practice to get it good enough to not fall out through the night, but seeing you feel so bothered to do it yourself gave him the determination to learn. now he can do your hair flawlessly, seeing your sleepy face every night and immediately jumping to do it. you’ve even started letting him style it during the daytime, his skills getting good enough to try actual hairstyles.

he puts all your stuff away. your head is laying on the edge of the bed, still on the floor. he tries his best not to wake you up, pulling you into his arms and setting you down on the side of the bed. he tucks you in, slips under the covers himself, and pulls you into him with a kiss to your forehead. you’re so cute, so peaceful, and moments like these make chan hope you’ll always be there for him to take care of.

the most calm. offers his hands as stress balls to any members who need it during the film. was probably not paying attention for the entire thing, his brain having logged out of the human world and logged in to the angel network or something. offers to make popcorn every time, and by some weird psychic ability of his he always gets up to do refills right as the popcorn is running out for everyone. records seungkwan kicking chan into tomorrow every time they finish a film

joshua

is basically the human shield for the other scaredy cat members. he doesn't particularly like horror movies, but he's pretty good at keeping in his flinches and doesn't get that many nightmares from them afterwards. often gets dragged out to make cookies for dk bc he cant handle the movies. the person that everyone goes to at night when they can't sleep. once had a total of five members in his room after they all watched 'the shining' together, and let them sleep in his bed with him for the rest of the week.

junhui

loves (!!!!) horror movies so much. thinks they're the pinnacle of film industry art. gets scared by the super horrifying ones, but loves that feeling of getting scared so much. doesn't get nightmares bc he basically forgos sleep for two days straight after they watch a film, so he bores the nightmare demons into not visiting him. at least, that's what he swears by. does need to hide behind some of the other members tho when it gets a lil too scary for him to handle

hoshi

the epitome of reckless cockiness. boasts every single time that he's Great at handling horror movies, despite having a track record of Definitely Not being great at handling horror movies well. unintentionally engaged in a screaming duet with mingyu this one time. refuses to leave the room even when the members try to force him out bc he's too loud. always wakes up wonwoo, either bc he digs his fingers into his thigh thinking that he's jihoon or bc he's just being way too noisy. doesn't remember a single thing about the plot, pretends he remembers everything and says they should totally watch it again sometime

wonwoo

agrees to watch it with the members, ends up falling asleep halfway through. while everyone is talking about the terrifying cinematography afterwards, he's just sitting there like o_o bc he doesn't remember anything about the movie. he doesn't even mean to fall asleep, it just accidentally sort of happens. is woken up by hoshi during every movie tho bc that man is basically a high-pitched whistle when he's terrified and he gets terrified by horror movies all the time

jihoon

gets scared, but is scared the moderate amount. flinches at the jump scares, lets out little yelps at the sudden screams, but always does that cute giggle afterwards to show that he's more embarrassed than anything. has soonyoung's hand around his thigh like a vice the entire movie, and he has yet to figure out if the man is doing it to try and keep jihoon in place or to keep himself in place. sometimes gets nightmares after, but he doesn't really sleep enough to even have dreams on a daily basis, so.

minghao

doesn't like them, sits through them bc if too many people leave then chan gets sad that people aren't watching the movie he picked. pretends he's chill with it but he sits in the armchair by himself all curled up like a shrimp, hugging a cushion and squeezing his eyes shut whenever he gets too scared. after the movie's finished, though, he doesn't think it was all that bad. does that mean he's willing to watch it again? not really. but at least he's not getting nightmares for a week like the others.

mingyu

cannot even Think of watching them (1). is too terrified. clings to joshua so hard that he leaves the man with bruises on his arm. screams the loudest at every unexpected noise on the screen, even if it's something as tiny as a floorboard creak. can never finish the full movie, either bc he gets yelled out by the other members for being too noisy or ends up too creeper out and runs away to hide in hansol's room and watch him sleep to make sure he's okay

dokyeom

cannot even Think of watching them (2). gets all three of the 95 line to baby him for the first part bc he insists that this time he Will get thru it. holds jeonghan's hand the entire time. and seungcheol's. also has joshua's hand (the one on the arm Not being held hostage by mingyu) hovering near his face, ready to cover his eyes when something scary pops up on the screen. never makes it past the 45 minute mark without getting teary-eyed and having to leave, asking joshua to bake him cookies with him or something to help him calm down

seungkwan

gets absolutely terrified if theres any gore. psychological horror? hell yeah, he's down. demon/exorcism horror? so long as no ones peeling off anyone's skin, he's fine. horror movies (especially the ones chan picks) often leave a bad taste in his mouth tho so theyre not really his favourite. vows to never ever watch another horror movie that chan's picked out again, always ends up sitting on the couch squashed between jun and chan during the next horror movie viewing. beats up the maknae after every movie for suggesting something so grotesque and horrible

hansol

doesn't watch. he's not a big fan of the mildly plotless, gory horror movies chan always picks and instead goes into his room. tries to read a book or do something productive, ends up just falling asleep on the floor. wakes up to mingyu's face inches from his in almost pitch black darkness, the elder trembling like a leaf in the wind while telling him that he was guarding him while he was asleep to make sure he was okay. he turns on the light in the room and spends the rest of the night reassuring mingyu that the sounds he's hearing outside are totally normal and no werewolf is trying to break through their windows

chan

was probably the one to suggest the horror movie. he's pretty chill with them, finding them interesting (if not sometimes rlly repetitive) to watch. the suspense is his most favourite thing ever. he thinks it's super cool. flinches sometimes, but always laughs after. is the only one grinning with excitement once the movie is finished. looks around at his hyungs and asks if anyone would be willing to watch it again with him sometime?
