You still can interpret it as you like and ignore all the heavy implications of Sebaciel. But it's there.

She is a child. We'll do nothing of the sort.

Ciel again makes it very clear that he doesn't see himself as a child. Mentally and intellectual. And that's why I love kuroshitsuji so much.

It is full of darkness, Ciel evolves himself willingly. He kills, he gives orders to kill, he has a thing for burning houses down, lying, and manipulating. Not to forget he works side by side with a demon.

The boy who was kidnapped, abused and lost his brother? That's a child who died with his brother and the moment he took the hand of a demon. In that moment he turned into Ciel the Earl and Watchdog. And that Ciel isn't a child in his own mind.

Doesn't mean that it isn't possible - as we will see - that a brutal trigger like the gas couldn't bring that back.

And as we will see, in the end it isn't the light, what will bring him back. But darkness.

Because the darkness is Ciel's light.
