Neil Josten is Demisexual

this is directed at no one or nothing in particular, but I have seen quite a bit recently especially on tt posts about "Neil I don't swing josten wanting to bang Andrew as SOON as he saw him."

No. No he did not.

And then the caption is like "our demi king."

This isn't hate and I know it's not done with malicious intent, but him being demi, specifically means that he did NOT want to bang Andrew as soon as he saw him.

Friendly reminder that Demisexual "means experiencing sexual feelings and attraction only after developing a close emotional relationship and not on the basis of first impressions, physical characteristics, etc."

Something something Kevin who grows up with contrition and violence as his main method of training and yet never raises his hand to Neil on the court, even once; who glares and bitches every time Neil says he's fine to play when he's not, who's heart is broken when he finds out who Neil really is because Neil should have been court and Kevin was going to get him there, but instead, he's just another boy who'd stepped too close to Kevin Day and became an all-too familiar tragedy.

Neil sees Kaitlyn on Aaron’s background on his phone and thinks about it. Then he notices Erik on Nicky’s phone and finally gets the courage to ask him why.

Nicky just shrugs.

“I like seeing his face every time I look at my phone.”

Eventually when his phone finally breaks (he can’t bring himself to buy anything new at least that’s what he tells himself) (Andrew knows he’s upset and won’t buy a new one so he buys a new one then he also buys himself a new one and he won’t admit but he really likes having matching phones)

At first it’s either a shitty picture of the printed out photo in the lounge of him and Andrew at the airport when he told him his middle name.

Or he manages to find a professional picture of Andrew done on the court.

It takes him a while, but eventually there’s a canid picture of Andrew on his phone staring ‘bored’ into the camera

He holds it and stares at the screen all the time when Andrew has graduated.

After he graduates he’s a lot better about keeping his phone charged.

He’s no longer the rabbit.

I would just like to say that I read AFTG for the first time while having a mental breakdown (minus the grippy sock vacation) and I think that is the most on-brand for AFTG thing I've ever done

part of why andrew dressing neil up is so crazy is that in any other series it would be like a trick meant to humiliate neil by putting him in something jank

but andrew’s agenda was “i want to see him in mesh” not “i hope he experiences public humiliation”

and neil definitely thought it was the latter but for some reason went along with it anyway ???
