remember when actual sunflower harry james potter, who had never had pocket money before, excitedly bought out the candy trolley so he could split the goods with ron weasley, a boy he had just met? i think about that a lot because wow, the first time harry was ever allowed to have something that was just his, his first instinct was to share it.

Was really excited to read Cursed Child but now....

I dunno, I was a bit concerned that it might ruin the Harry Potter series for me if it wasn’t good so I read some spoilers and like, 

it sounds like the HP equivalent of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (that one with aliens like wut?) where everyone got really hyped for the movie and now it’s just kind of “shhhh, we don’t talk about that film, it doesn’t exist” 

I get that it was written for the stage and not as a novel, and also it wasn’t solely JK’s work, but.....it just seems like it’s some kind of AU fanfiction?

Part of me still wants to read it so I can make my own full judgement, but the spoilers I’ve seen just really put me off, there’s so many things that just are not the Harry Potter universe I grew up with.
