What if Mobile Phones Never Evolved?

Living in the 21st Century gives us access to almost everything with the use of our mobile phones. It improves lifestyle since it makes everything easier and a lot more convenient. It is a gadget that is used every day by almost everyone since one of the most important use of cellphones is communication and as humans, we can never live without someone to talk to. But what if these cellphones never evolved?

There are many possibilities that would happen if the mobile phones did not evolve at all. Let’s imagine that phones never became as the ones we have today. No touchscreens, no 4G data, no cameras, no mp3 players, and not as lightweight as they are now. By just thinking of these ideas, some of you might not even call it a mobile phone anymore, some might feel like it’s the end of their world, but what if?

First possibility would be Facebook and other social medias not being created at all. Since the only purpose of cellphones back then was for easy communication, and not really for connecting, sharing our memories with other people and entertainment. The invention of social medias would not be needed anymore, since people would not care to meet with strangers, online. Additionally, mobile games like Mobile Legends, Minecraft, and other games might not be also generated. Since these would need a gadget with a touchscreen. Imagine yourself with a phone just like the Nokia 3310, the only games you can play are Sudoku and Snakes to keep yourself entertained. This is the life without advance cellphones and technology.

Having communication without the evolved version of phones are still possible, however it would not be as efficient and fast as they are today. Text messages are still easily sent, but important letters or emails would not be as easy as pie. Chances are, the letters are hand-written and not printed. Also, in order for you to send it, you have to go to the post office, stamp it and wait for a few days for it to be delivered and wait for another day or week to receive their response. Having fast and constant interaction could be very hard at the same time very costly.

Lastly, if mobile phone never evolved, our lifestyle and comfort would also not improve. People would not be as productive as they are now. Thus, think of it this way, skills cannot be improved if tools aren’t being developed. So does this technology and this way of communication, it cannot be created or invented if the tool itself, the mobile phone is not upgraded itself.
