Week 11
This week is a combination with last week, most of our progress or work was done in weekends and Monday prior to Tuesday, the event for the final pitching presentation of our product. This was not that exhausting as we prepared adequately the needed data to be used for creating this presentation, but we still did some modifications every now and then. We managed to create different designs to be used and seems to us that there are some slides in our presentation that could still be polished. Therefore some days were not really heavy in effort, as we were still in final exam condition where our time to be used for this presentation are not heavily focused. But we managed to still accomplish all needed inputs for our presentation and presented it on time with the deadline.

Week 10
The goal for this week is to secure all information to be used for our final term product pitching PowerPoint presentation. But we also had a session in technopreneurship subject where we would need to do a report as an update of what we have accomplished in the progress of our product pitching. For that session, we made a powerpoint presentation entailing that we managed to secure a supply for demolished concrete, the production cost for the prototype product being a negative profit due to the quantity to be fabricated being a small number. In that session, our instructor asked us if we could manage ourselves to create a prototype product, and I replied yes. I didn’t think much in that period that a prototype is a product that is already with sufficient experiment done on it and that results are gathered with a small step lacking in order for it to be considered as a commercialize-able product or a final product for use of users. I was given instruction or recommendation by the professor that I should try to compare the datas from the prototype with the commercialized regular chb and seek the advantages our product could offer, which we can’t due to the needed experimental duration needed constraining us from producing experimental data, therefore we leaned on the internet with hope that research studies would be a suitable substitute for the lack of creating a prototype.
Another event that happened this week is the interview conducted by each of our members with people that we know, people that are relevant to the construction industry, and engineering and architectural students.
We also conducted research online with sites that are known to be a platform for education, such as articles, thesis papers, research papers, and relevant sites containing chb material data from industrial, economical, and production sectors.
In this week, we managed to gather datas to be used for the target market, traction, and relevant data that reinforce our product, profit, and investment calculation for the annual rate.

Week 9
The goal for this week is to secure CHB fabricating site and to verify relevant information such as how much cost would we have in production for a prototype product and for commercializing the product. In this period, the hustler is tasked to roam around as he possesses private transportation for the job, a motorcycle.
My job is to relay essential questions and to collect them in preparation for the final term pitching powerpoint presentation. The plan is first to visit chb fabricating sites, check if the chb maker is present to secure credibility directly from the person involved, as they have the expertise that would answer the question that we’d like answered. If not, we would still conduct an interview, but we would not stop visiting sites until we would manage to have a direct interview to a chb maker.
With that, the hustler visited 3 sites and at 4th, the chb maker was located. In that period, we managed to question the price per sack for cement, gravel, sand, and chb per piece, we also asked for the labor cost. In that period, we managed to learn that they do not use sand in concrete fabrication, and that they combine the price per sack for gravel and sand which they termed as “grava” and they would sieve and separate the two aggregates resulting into sand and gravel aggregated mounds. We also managed to ask for the truckload transport price per trip which contains 18 cubic meter in volume and the number of chb produced per cement sack.
Cement per sack = 270 pesos
Grava per sack =  40 pesos
Labor cost per day = 350 pesos
Labor cost per cement bag = 200 pesos
CHB per piece = 15 pesos
Transport price per trip = 7500 pesos
CHB made per cement sack = 130 CHB
1 cement sack = 20 grava sack

Week 8
In this week, we just followed the plan we made in the midterm pitchdeck presentation. To secure the supply for demolished concrete, fortunately, the road in front of our university is getting reconstruction, therefore the team aimed it first. We asked for the opportunity to use their demolished concrete in our project for technopreneurship which is to use a recycled concrete aggregate as a replacement for coarse aggregates in chb fabrication. They supported our cause and agreed that instead of delivering the demolished concrete to landfills to be dumped, they would allow us to use demolished concrete. But if we are to secure this as a supply for our product, then they too agree that they can deliver it directly to where we designate our chb fabricating site, only if we are to accomplish needed procedural papers, to formalize to process. But that would take time and we only needed to have samples in the meantime, so we asked them for just a little bit of demolished concrete as samples for us to fabricate a prototype chb, and they agreed.

Week 7
This week, in preparation for Midterm Pitchdeck, we had to use a source for bases for our claims. In that we need to identify a source for demolished concrete supply, the workability rate of recycled concrete aggregate from a chb maker and a credible source as bases for our product idea.
An interview with Engr. Bucton in my opinion is relevant for use as a credible source for validation in our chosen product, Recycled concrete aggregate alternative for CHB fabrication. We proposed to her 3 ideas but I will only focus on what she said in regards to CHB. She affirmed that the idea would work and she introduced to us two types of chb, load bearing and non-load bearing CHBs. She suggested to us to test our product for Compressive Strength to accurately identify the type of CHBs being produced from this process.
Next is with a CHB maker named Kuya Mike, I was not present with the interview, but according to our hustler, it was affirmed that the workability rate would not change with the process.
Next is to affirm the case of management for demolished concrete from Architect Clifford Canama. He told us that the demolished concrete usually are being used unprocessed as a bulk fill in embankments or even in landscaping projects. He affirmed that it is more efficient to process demolished concrete into an aggregate.
We also finalized the creation for our presentation, including the name of the product, ReBlocks.

Week 6
This week it was also productive as it validated claims and also brought new informations that deepened our understanding to the options that we have and what we need to address in order for us to improve the quality of the product and the issues in regards to its competition that would affect the marketability rate of the product to our costumers.
The 1st relevant interview is with a site engineer of the ongoing residential building construction in USTP-CDO, Engr. Lozada. We proposed to her 3 ideas and asked for her opinion. First is Recycled concrete aggregate as an alternative for coarse aggregate in CHB fabrication, she said that she hasn't heard yet of this idea and that this could work for the market in the Philippines as it would introduce an additional option for the demolished concrete. The 2nd Idea is the creation of a chute for the pouring process of cement from Transit Mixers, she said that this is also a good idea and that she also recommend a flexible material for the product. 3rd Idea is the casting boards coated with plastic that could withstand head and is moisture phobic in nature, resulting into a non sticking process of cement and its surface, she said that we first need to identify the material that could withstand the weight of cement. Afterwards she said that she liked the first idea more, since she is not that familiar, indicating that it could work in a marketability sense.
The 2nd relevant interview is with Engr. Catanyag, a site engineer of the ongoing C.M. Recto to Lapasan Highway Construction. We likewise proposed to her 3 ideas in similar fashion and identical order. The CHB fabrication is doable. In Casting Boards, she said that we need first to identify the type of plastic and that the material should also withstand the weight of cement, she also said that the concrete formed from the plastic cast boards would not be formed accurately and that we need to pay attention in that detail, so she suggested to use metal on the corner sides of the cast forms. 3rd is the Chute, she likewise suggest for a flexible material and an example she gave us is the tube that you see in washing machine, it allows easier maneuverability of the cement pouring process. She agrees that all 3 ideas would work if the proposed ideas are accurate.

Week 5
This week, we were able to conduct a virtual interview with a resident engineer of DPWH, Engr. Marvin Pagayon. During this interview we asked of him in regards to his opinion on recycled concrete aggregates in replacement for coarse aggregate and timber ash as an alternative for fine aggregate. In that he told us that recycled concrete aggregate is a good idea to pursue while timber ash as a fine aggregate is too silty for it to work. He also told us to just keep things simple and just focus on the recycled concrete aggregate, since normal cement mixture and fine aggregate is already good as it is.
Since we need 2 more ideas for proposals, we asked him if he noticed any problem or anything that we can use as a base for us to create a product of. He came from two scenarios that he typically sees in his construction site activities. First is that in the cement pouring process, the workers typically fabricate a chute from a roof sheet and timber, he suggests for us to create a product of it, something flexible is recommended for the material. The second scenario is that the use of casting forms are usually not re-useable, and suggest of us to create a product that can be used repeatedly and is fabricated cheaply.
It was a productive interaction which brought a sufficient number of ideas for the idea proposal. It also encouraged us to conduct interviews from relevant people, since a short interview brought us a lot of useful information, in contrast to our searches for desired answers from the internet.

Week 4
The decision for us to conduct an interview for this week did not proceed. But we need to have a result to show, we needed a product for us to introduce as part of the top 3 ideas to propose to our instructor for him to choose one for us to turn our full attention to. So as a person with the role of introducing ideas, I need to come up with one. As I travel from home to the school, I ride with a jeepney, giving me access to see my surroundings. In that travel period, I had a realization that since a lot of road projects are ongoing in this time period, why not put my attention in those situations. One of those situations is concrete breaking and concrete creating, since a component for the mixture is coarse aggregate, which means gravels or aggregates that are rocks that are with designated sizes. In order for these rocks to reach certain sizes, you can break them, crush them into smaller pieces. Since concrete is also considered rock, then why not use it as an alternative for a coarse aggregate to be used for concrete creation, which would result in a cycle, leading to efficient use of resource.
Before I introduced this idea to the team, I searched on the internet for this idea. It exists and we can use them as a resource for us to base our assumptions in terms of idea innovation. The idea was then received an approval from the team that this could be used as part of the top 3 ideas to be proposed for our instructor. We then identified that this idea is to recycle wasted materials to be part of the product fabrication. Since coarse aggregate can be replaced, why not include finding an alternative for fine aggregates?

Week 3
This week was not very productive. We had a difficulty in coming up with the ideas that would spark interest for us. The previous ideas that I introduced are too difficult to accomplish with our present capabilities and that some of those are with required knowledge that extends outside of our desired profession, therefore those type of ideas are not an option. We had a period of not using the time for us to progress to have for us a proposed idea. The sources from the internet are not efficient for us to discover the needed information. There may be sites from the internet that contain relevant information that we desire, but the rate of searches is not coming with the desired results. It is time consuming and confusing. So decision was made that we shouldn't rely heavily on the internet and that we should go and find people with knowledge that have a profession or occupation closely related to the construction industry and interview them in regards to ideas that they may be able to provide to us.

Week 2
This week we have a messenger group chat with all 4 members in participation for coming up with our top 3 ideas, so as being the Hacker role, I had it to myself to be responsible for introducing ideas for the group to analyze. So the way that I came up with the ideas is from trying to find usual problems encountered by people through the internet, mainly from quora. So I had a session of 3 hours to create a list of problems that may spark us to pursue in order for us to have an idea to introduce for a presentation that would give us grades for the subject. I came up with atleast 20+ ideas regardless of the attain-ability of our present capabilities with the group. I then created a poll with the list and announced it in the gc to peruse the list and vote for the option that they are interested in, afterwards we will find a way for us to have a product that would relate to the option that could bring forth solution to the problem introduced from the option.
We waited a day, afterwards we had a google meet for us to come up with the 3 proposed ideas. This was done by having each individual introduce their opinion on the option that they took for them to be interesting, then we concluded the meeting with 3 proposed ideas that could be worth pursuing for us to create a product that would address the problem from the option that we had picked.
We created a powerpoint presentation with the 3 proposed ideas, unfortunately I was not present during the presentation. But I was briefed by my co-innovators that our instructor rejected our proposed ideas and that we need to first validate our ideas to knowledgeable individuals with profession or occupation closely related to the idea that we had proposed.

Technopreneurship Weekly Blogs
Week 1
Greetings I am Marc Leonard C. Japuz, a fourth-year Civil Engineering student studying in USTP-CDO. This blog contains my weekly report in terms of the experience that guided us in coming up with the idea of developing a product. To be used as a means for us to pursue the field of Civil Engineering in the form of marketing a technologically related product with our desired profession.
First week for the team, in order for us to increase the chances of an individual's affinity by roles, we took it upon ourselves to evaluate each of our own identity at that moment using the 16personality test and Berkeley Innovation Index. Then the three roles of Hustler, Hacker and Hipster were then allocated in terms of what makes it closest to the role description with the information given from the two tests results.
Tumblr media
My test results show that I am INTP-T, which means Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, Perceiving, and categorized to be Turbulent. INTP are often referred to as "The Logician" which means a persona that closely resembles the Hacker role which is to interpret datas for analysis for idea introductions to the team. The bad thing is that the category that I am in is Turbulent, which has a negative impact in terms of efficient thoughts. Further reinforcing the idea of my need for self improvement as shown by the diagnosis of innovation capabilities from the berkeley innovation index test results, showing my mindset level of 54.52 out of 100.
