Flemeth stole the golden MIRROR. she stole a symbol of Morrigans individuality and personhood, something that would allow Morrigan to look at herself and say 'thats me'. She smashed it on the ground and it fractured into a thousand tiny pieces, and her daughter wept over it.

The lesson was not about the futility and lack of use of shiny objects, the lesson was about control. It was about stripping Morrigan not only of possessions but of ways to identify herself. Because Morrigan wasn't being raised to be herself. She was being raised to act as a host, a body, a sack of meat, something that personhood could reside within, not a person with agency herself.

the concept and idea of “you can always start trying to be a better person” is extremely important to me both in media and irl and i continue to be deeply deeply disturbed by the trend on this site pushing that these ideas in media are bad writing or even morally reprehensible

because theyd rather someone stay terrible or just straight up die than become a better person 

from a compassionate point of view it’s deeply distressing and from a pragmatic point of view it’s outright frustrating

it’s fucked up.

Noteable features:

- begins wearing modified mage robes, but learns to wield a sword and wear armor (she becomes an arcane warrior early game) 

-shes half Asian, half black 

- shes got the thickest eyebrows everrr

- hear ears are more sticky outy and rounded rather than pointy elf ears 

- shes curvy... pls do not draw her super skinny 😭

- short queen

Fun facts:

- her and Alistair get married in Redcliffe immediately following the Landsmeet and live happily ever after and bioware can't tell me any different 

- her mabari's name is Dog and she takes him everywhere except into the deep roads 

-gets along with/loves and is loved by everyone! But her party is usually Alistair, Leliana, and either Wynne or Dog... sometimes Morrigan to try and socialize her... (she also really makes friends with Anders and Nathaniel)

- uses lightning magic and weilds a sword as an arcane warrior (she also dabbled into shapshifting but can only turn into a giant spider 🕷 🤷‍♀️)

- she spends her time during the mage uprising working as running a refugee/healing camp for all parties in need (I also hc that Anders finds her and works for his redemption here with her as old friends) 

- leaves the healing encampment to search for a blight cure during Inquisition because her, Alistair, and Anders all feel something wrong with the calling at the same time 

- idk what else to say other than shes just literally the most beautiful woman you've ever seen 😌💕

she minds her business inside the circle but shes very tactless when she opens her mouth. people kinda avoids her if possible cause shes literally a magnet of trouble. its already hinted there that she wants to do more with her magic (hence her turning into a blood mage amongst other things)
