a slight smile graced marco upon what the british man said. "okay, good. i just sometimes do things without fully thinking it through, y'know?" he laughed a bit, unsure why but he did. maybe to help soften the unease he briefly felt not too long ago thinking he made a bad first impression. "i think just trying something mostly. i um..." the mention of flirting his voice trailed off, especially with the mention of it being unprofessional, which was true. fuck. "oh, you're not?" that changed marco's demeanor again, quick. slightly interested in how flirting could go, but on a more downlow level, as this was his job after all and he didn't always flirt around. just making a one time work exception. "does that mean, i've got your attention then?" asking this, he leaned forward against the bartop, resting his arms on it, giving his attention, but keeping tabs on others in the bar, not to leave his other bartender with it all as he saw where things were going here.
——- Accepting his drink and giving the other a fond smile, a slight chuckle following. seeing how he was scrambling as he was — it was kinda adorable actually. no — it didn't mean roman had special attraction to the bartender no matter how good looking, but it put the idea of a flirt and a little fun back on the table after the weird greeting. ❝ it's quite alright, marco. seriously. it was — amusing, i suppose — also unexpected. so — was there intent with it ? perhaps, you were flirting which, is wildly unprofessional, but — i'm certainly not against it. ❞ speaking the last bit, roman's voice got lower and then he took a sip of his drink, hazel eyes focusing back towards the bartender after. ❝ i can agree that you stood out and i was quite interested in seeing the display of it. ❞ the brit gave back a smile of his own, definitely feeling the element to possibly flirt some with the bartender.

"um - about seven years actually," marco admitted with a slight grin. it was different from texas and new york, but he felt good in california. he wasn't exactly settled in aurora bay when first coming, but it's all grown on him now. "well, i have this bias with sea foam it's an lgbtq+ bar and i definitely work there. also enjoy the food at the all-night diner. so i suggest that as well." maybe he shouldn't go on and on. "what interests you?"
"How long have you been here?" Stéphan hadn't sought out this amount of stimulation since he graduated from college. His life had completely derailed itself from the possibilities he once envisioned. It was better this way. Time would only tell if he made the right decision to come here in the first place. "Any suggestions on things to check out?"

"i get that. i'm just a bartender and a bit of a health nut. i was almost a fitness trainer after my last job fell through but - went with bartending instead," he admitted with a chuckle. "they are and that one can be helpful on the harder sleep days."
marco gave a little nod at the season allergies mention. "it's all good. healthy, yes - exactly what i wanted to hear," he laughed a bit. "yup, i definitely do as you never know. could be good for years and then suddenly you're not." he said knowingly. he was very cautious of it due to issues he had as a kid. "no, you're good. i'll definitely do that. it's good to make sure of things are current and all that jazz."
"Yeah, and I'm a nurse so I'm clocking an insane amount of steps in a day, usually... But Heaven forbid I try to just be lazy on my lunch..." She smirks again, shrugging. "Anyway, they're useful, though. The sleep tracker is my obsession. Mostly because I get terrible sleep." She nods with his report, giving a little smile. "Those all seem fine. Season allergies I assume? Sorry... It's not my normal department so I barely got a chance to look at your chart... Everything seems good, though. You... You seem healthy." She does her best to not look him over as she says this, though her eyes settle on his again. "And yeah... The inhaler is definitely good to keep with you, especially if you run or at the gym, but honestly just in general. And make sure to check with the doctor that the prescription is current. That can happen sometimes where people only have to use it sparingly and then when they need it, the cannister is old and--Sorry. Not trying to stress you or anything!" @marcogalvarez

marco glanced at the other with a drink in hand, looking around towards the area where they were before giving a friendly smile. "i'd say depends mostly on the time, but yeah - for the most part, it can kinda be." the texan shrugged some before taking a sip of his drink. "yeah - felt that way a bit when i first got here, but i think you get used to it. also it has it's days, you know?"
WHO: Anyone! @aurorabaystarter WHERE: A food/drink establishment in town. WHEN: Can be pre or post prom.
Aurora Bay was interesting, to say the least. The hospitality was uncanny, and Stéphan didn't know whether to attribute it to people simply being more pleasant thanks to the proximity to the beach or its unique way of gathering the community together. No wonder his siblings were seemingly thriving here. "Is this place always brimming with unmatched optimism?" He had heard chatter about the prom and made the better choice not to attend. "I feel like I'm in some fairytale land."

finishing the drink, setting it down and slide it over to the good looking man, a defeated sigh soon following. "i mean - no, but i mean, if you want for a joke but - fuck i'm sorry. i should have thought that through." it wasn't often marco was practically left speechless and scrambling on what to say. to the texan that meant something. then the change in the british man's demeanor managed to get marco to relax some. "i um - yes, i think i would. helps me stand out in a different way, don't you think?" he leaned against the bartop in front of the other man, flashing his pearly whites in his best smile.
——- The face of disgust roman held morphed into one of mild confusion instead. yes — he got the reference to a mostly old cartoon troupe. what he didn't get was why it was done, how it was thought to be appropriate in any fashion or why he didn't recall that also lead to most of the said cartoon characters drooling over someone or — in roman's original ask — would then hit on them. ❝ so does drooling and flirting with the lowkey as of a date follow ? unless that's crossing the line and the cat call was suddenly appropriate, especially in your place of work. ❞ as he spoke he didn't look at the bartender, just kept his gaze down. it wasn't until a bit after he looked up and his expression softened some with a faint smile grazing his lips. ❝ would you consider the weirdness your charm then ? ❞ roman spoke in a more flirty manner. typical roman to hit on someone in a bar surely looking to get lucky, thinking nothing of it.

glazing at her fitbit with a smirk on his face, giving a little nod of his head, definitely interested. hearing her words got a laugh from marco. "yeah, i can imagine how annoying it is. happens to me when i try to enjoy food or chatting with someone. the fucking worst!" marco's smirk was also playful. what he enjoyed in check ups and such was connecting with the nurse or doctors, so zoe was no exception.
listening to her words, doing as asked of him - breathing in and out calmly, feeling pretty relaxed in the moment. giving her a slight smile back, as marco waits for the cuff to do it's thing and be removed. "i sometimes take melatonin to help with sleep. i also have some allergy meds i take and i have an inhaler for asthma i haven't used in a while, but you never know, right?" he said with a slight chuckle.
She's managed to regain control of herself, now back in proper nurse mode as she listens to his words. Zoe grins, giving an emphatic nod as she briefly holds up her own arm, showing her fitbit. "Oh, same. I love it--until I'm on break and it starts yelling at me to get more steps so I can meet my hourly goal and I'm just trying to eat some lunch. Then I want to throw it into the sea!" She gives a playful smirk. She uses her stethoscope to listen for his pulse, supporting his arm as she starts to pump air into the cuff. "OK you're gonna feel a little squeeze. Just try to breathe and relax, and it'll be fast." She gives a reassuring smile as the pressure of the cuff does indeed start to squeeze. In no time at all, there's a slow, gentle hiss as the air releases from the cuff, Zoe noting the numbers. "Looks really good. Gonna take your temperature next. Do you take anything? Daily supplements, vitamins, anything like that? Other meds?" @marcogalvarez

"yes, and i certainly can't wait for it to be back around," marco said with a bit of excitement in his texan accented voice. sure things got busy and tourists could be a lot, but marco's friendly demeanor, he handled it all pretty well. he was a people person with excited dog like energy all through out his body.
to those words, marco gave a nod of his head, folding his arms over his own muscular chest. "i can agree there. never a bad thing to want in life, right?" he smiled and laughed some himself. "yes, do that! it wouldn't be a bad idea at all. plus i think it gives a bit of an inviting comforting feel to places."
Kalani felt the way the young man sounded, and he nodded his head. "At least the summer is well on its way and the town will be lively again soon enough!" Kalani loved when the town was bustling with people, even if there were a lot of tourists that time of year too.
"That sounds perfect! I'd love some good fortune and prosperity there." Kalani laughed. His business wasn't doing bad at all, but it was still always good to think of it doing exceptionally well. "I guess I could put them at the service desk to be the first things people see when they walk in."

marco grinned in a friendly manner, giving off some warm energy with it as he shoved his hands in the front pocket of his grey pull over hoodie. art was interesting and beautiful - he was left curious about it all the time and the talents behind it all. "i'm sure that are and it's really nice of you to want to help out." a fashion designer parent, definitely something interesting to hear. "so did you like start some with helping design with her or something? did you ever design something with your mom?" all marco would ever admit to sharing with his parents was genetics. not that they were a broken family or anything - they were all rather close, just they all went different paths as they grew up.
"I did," Gianna said, nodding her head. "Thank you, I try." Those might not be the words that she would use to describe herself, but it was nice to hear it. So far, mostly her internet friends enjoyed her work. But as someone who basically grew up with a camera on her face, she didn't know how much of that was genuine. "The kids are really gifted there and I figured it'd be a nice way to help them out." She said with a smile. "My mom is a fashion designer - so in a way, I inherited her gift." The woman shrug. It was easier to say that than to say that art was the only way she could express herself growing up...It was the only thing she had control of from start to finish. She decided - not anyone else.

marco gave a soft smile and a little nod. "yes, right," he gave a little chuckle before taking a deep breath - in through his nose, out through his mouth. just a way he prepared for really anything these days. "alright, zoe, all ready to go." his brown eyes looked from the wall to the nurse and then towards the door, never fully knowing where to look in these cases.
nodding along as she explained things and answering as needed. "nope, it's been good, i'd say. i keep tabs on my smart watch," he admitted, as he had a bit of a thing with his health. holding out his arm as instructed, his gaze going to the cuff on his arms now.
Gaze lingers a little too long on those thick-lashed eyes and Zoe catches herself, fighting a faint smirk for just a moment before she regains her composure. "Perfect." Her smile is warm, and she quickly goes back into proper 'nurse mode' as she moves to retrieve a fresh pair of gloves, slipping them on her hands. "I'm Zoe, your nurse for the day, and I'll take care of your vitals before the doctor comes in to do the rest of the exam." She reaches for the arm cuff on the wall, "I'm gonna start with your blood pressure. No dizzy spells or heart flutters, I'm assuming?" She steals a glance at his eyes again as she steps closer to him. "Go ahead and hold out your arm a moment," she instructs, waiting before carefully slipping the cuff of the blood pressure gauge up its length and positioning it. @marcogalvarez

The excited squeal got a smile out of Marco, even a small chuckle. It was just kind of cute to him. After she ordered he gave her his full attention, hands coming together on the table. "Oh, okay," he said simply, with a small slow nod of his head. "I um - yeah, I really am. It's a skill I got down well back in school. Probably due to loving presenting for a moment there." He laughed a bit.
Jas squeals with excitement, sliding into the seat beside him and ordering herself an iced matcha with a blueberry muffin. As if she needed any more caffeine coursing through her system. "Okay, so, what I'm working on right now is my crowd word." Jas explains, slinging her tote bag over the back of her stool. "Are you good with some participation?" @marcogalvarez

Seeing the familiar face, a smile came to Marco as he walked up to her, shoving his hands inside of the pockets of his black jeans. A chuckle left at the first part of her words in her offer. "It's okay. I drink in moderation anyway," he noted as he glanced around for a moment, then back at her. "Oh um, sure, you can do that. Cookies are great!" Marco did have that occasional sweet tooth, more than he'd like to admit - usually having a soft spot of baked goods and chocolate.

Caroline was currently standing by the Sweet Nothings' booth, staring at the menu and torn between trying a lavender lemon cupcake or a tart with rose and raspberry pastry cream when she saw a familiar face, making a little smile pull onto her lips. The bartender had definitely helped her when she was licking her wounds after being ditched on a date, had been kind to her (even if it was kind of his job) so she figured she could maybe return the favor. "I'm not sure if there's any alcohol around, otherwise I'd offer to buy you a drink, but I can offer to buy you a cookie?"

"Coming right up," Marco said with a chuckle as he went ahead and got her a glass of water. Once he did he set it down in front of her, with a soft friendly grin on his face. "Is that so?" he asked folding his arms.
"Rizz?" he questioned upon hearing the word, looking at her with a curious look. "Um, I'm don't think I'm quite that cultured to know what rizz means or if it's in use actually."
"A water would be sooooooo good," Shiloh approves with a bob of her head, feeling suddenly insatiably thirsty as soon as the hydration had been mentioned.
"Oh just my entire life path up until this point," she explains with a wave of her hand like it covered the sweep of her lifetime.
"I don't have the...I think they would call it 'rizz'? Or do we not say rizz anymore?"

Marco gave a nod at the drink order and grinned, "Coming right up." With that, he turned on his heel to start making the drink, grabbing a glass when he heard the ask and froze completely. 'Fuck', he thought. Turning back around, glass in hand, a nervous chuckle leaving him as if it was an instant reaction when he turned back around. "Sorry the whistle was just - it was suppose to be a fun joke. Cartoons do it when someone's good looking, is all. It was a fun joke and compliment, promise. Nothing more." Marco spoke a bit nervous, rambling some to cover his ass before turning around and letting out a bit of a sigh. 'Smooth,' he thought as he made the old fashioned ordered.
——- Normally roman was all for flirting when he saw someone attractive, but hearing the whistle and making eye contact with the bartender as he made it — caused the brit's face to twist in disgust and a bit of confusion. still he walked up to the bar, placing a hand on the bar top, unsure he'd want to be anywhere near the guy expect for getting drinks. ❝ um — maybe just an old fashion to start. you can flex your craft later or another time. ❞ his voice sounded like he was snapping at him some, but something about that whistle didn't sit so well with him, so he had to ask — ❝ are you hitting on me ? ❞

"Yeah, I know what you mean." Marco said with a sigh in his voice, sounding a bit sad and defeated. He watched as well, as things were starting to be removed before looking towards the other man curiously. "Um - I'd say maybe peonies as they usually symbolize prosperity and good fortune. Might be a good one for a business in general to have around, don't you think?" Had Marco owned his own bar over just working at one, he'd probably consider getting some as well.

"I hate to see all the flowers and decorations for the garden fest to go, they make a nice addition to the town." Kalani folded his arms over his chest as he looked at the beginnings of shops taking down their decorations for the event. "I might have to hit up Flora and Fauna for some to put in my own store. What kind do you think would look nice at the entrance of a hard ware store?"

Marco looked around, holding his own glass of wine as he admired the spring views with all the flowers and how fresh the air felt and smelt. Looking to the source of the voice speaking, a soft grin coming to him. "You know what - I completely agree with that. It's honestly too beautiful - these sights. So, yeah, I'm willing to try it." He had to appreciate the beauty around them in someway.

Catalina swayed along to the gentle music that flowed throughout the winery. She normally told herself to stay professional on the job, but sometimes (like tonight) she indulged in one glass of wine. "You know, I really think the night calls for more of a rose´. The way the sun is setting into the most beautiful hues of pink really speaks into it. So, are you willing to try it?"

The smile that came to Marco as he stood at the art booth, greeted by the sweet girl before browsing some of her work. "I'm guessing you made all of these. Which, you're insanely talented, by the way." While he was clueless on art, he did really enjoy it, in fact loved to look at art. Not something he did often but he definitely enjoyed it. "That's an amazing donation and I am curious - what made you choice it? And what got you into art?" Honestly, he was unsure what piece spoke to him more or catch his eye most. Marco was just memorized by her work.

To say that Gianna was nervous would be an understatement. While art had been her passion for as long as she could remember, it wasn't until the last year that she had started gaining confidence showcasing her work. This was her first time having her own booth at the flowers festival --and that alone had her stomach doing somersaults. As someone approached, she set down her drink and greeted with a warm smile.
"Hi! Feel free to look and let me know if you have any questions -or if any of the paintings catches your eyes. All the proceeds are being donated to the high school art club...No pressure." she added with a light chuckle.
