I have this Steven Universe vampire au that exists in my brain and has for a long time. Definitely not the first to come up with this but its okay because like i said its pretty much only in my mind 💔

Basically, all gems are vampires. They still have gems, they're just vampires. They colonize planets to expand their empire BUT ALSO steal the blood of the creatures they find living there... When pink diamond is given earth, her army discovers that human blood is significantly better than the rest. Blah blah blah she realizes life on earth is beautiful blah blah she rebels, shit hits the fan and then shes faking her own shattering (except its a silver stake to the heart. Lol #vampires)

Life on earth is basically the same, rose and greg meet the same way, but instead of tall alien lady and rocker dude its tall vampire lady and goth band dude... They fall in love, decide to have steven, you know just like the normal canon but they're vampires.

Steven is born half vampire and half human, and he needs to find out what really happened to pink diamond in order to save the subjects of the evil vampire queens' dictatorship. Just like the normal canon, just yk... With vampires HAHDJD.

I just haven't fully figured out what the gems use as an alternative to blood.. maybe theres something renewable within their gem that they're /supposed/ to use but don't. Because like if gem/vampires were only colonizing planets to feed themselves. Thats not THAT crazy .. they gotta be doing something more wrong than that in order to make pink want to rebel ... Anyway I have a lot more thoughts on this but I love this au dearly.
