whereas henry fell into a cauldron of radioactive kofola when he was a baby found a mysterious ring in the depths of old silver mines near skalitz which he climbed into on a drunken dare

while manically trying to get out of the mines he discovers that the ring gives him the ability to conjure solid constructs out of thin air

(bc, blacksmiths make weapons and now he does too)

godwin is his thesis supervisor, mentor and designated lore dropper

his first damsel in distress to save is, ofc, hans, on whom he tries out the superhero name he'd been workshopping for weeks (Czech-Mate) but when hans almost suffocates from laughter he decides to work on it a big longer (finally, he settles on the name The Blacksmith (after crossing out Captain Prague))

he also saves hans while in his civilsona, helping him out while hans's car breaks on the way to prague, where they both go to charles uni

they become friends in 0.8423 seconds which makes it ten times more difficult for henry to maintain his secret identity, well. secret. luckily we're in the superhero verse, so masks work like a charm

he wears a cape, bc i respect edna mode, but i respect the necessity for capes even more
