yoshida is definitely a hand holder. anywhere you go, no matter where it might be, he is gently holding your hand but tight enough so you don't feel obligated to ever let go.

sometime your fingers will intertwine. other times it's just doan-facing palms. no matter what way you hold hands, yoshida does it so you can feel safe and comfortable with him.

he is also an incredible listener. he's willing to do anything you want to do. if you wanted to go to a coffee shop, he'd let you pick the location and whatever you wanted on the menu. if you wanted to go to a movie, he'd let you pick whatever film is showing at the time.

yoshida will stare at you. he admires your beauty and doesn't know when to look away from you. so expect to be meeting each other's eyes a lot.

he also loves giving you small kisses on your hands and cheeks every now and then.

if you two are in public walking around the city, or just around other people in general, he will silently boast about the fact he has a boyfriend to the strangers passing by you two.

yoshida will subtly "shove" your relationship in people's faces when he has the chance to. not only because he's proud that you're his magnificent boyfriend, but because he's very protective of you and wants to tell others "he's mine."

he doesn't care if other people look at you two in disgust when you exchange kisses (of course, he asks beforehand if it's okay to do so). he covers your ears when he notices insulting murmurs. he doesn't want you to feel bad on this pleasant day.

One more post about Tsui no Taimashi Ender Geister!

After introducing the plot and the female cast, let’s talk about worldbuilding this time! :)

Right now, going by the raws, we’re in the third arc of the story. However, the translation is still catching up with the first arc, which is definitely the longest so far taking place in Japan. 

To be very honest, I had 0 expectation when I first started reading this series. I thought “good vibes, cool art, but probably 0 plot and worldbuilding” but I stand corrected on every aspect. So far, best series of year 2021. :D

On worldbuilding: while the first arc happens in the Japan, this is not the case of the other arcs so far. The second arc takes place in Italy and the current one takes us to the Philippines. 

The premise of the plot itself comes from a prequel happening in Japan called “Vs Evil”. Long story short, a college student who’s been cursed by a vengeful spirit ends up living through different adventures, one of them ending…

…as the black pillar occurs. So we’re definitely coming back to Japan, later. 

In the meantime, the author takes to developing the situation worldwide, with the two main characters traveling and meeting a very diverse and international cast, in order to understand Akira’s situation and how it fits with the worldbuilding itself. FYI, Akira’s own predicament starts in South Africa.

That’s why in the story so far we met fallen American exorcists, Hispanic poison masters, Italian priests, Chinese assassins, South African warriors, etc. And amongst them vampires & werewolves…

vengeful spirits, 

blind exorcists

and of course, demon-possessed people:

The plot takes a very international turn during the very first arc and I doubt the situation with the black pillar can be solved without first understanding the situation around Akira’s own circumstances and how they fit with the rest of the world’s.

TSUI NO TAIMASHI - ENDER GEISTER: please meet the girls

It’s a shame this manga is not more popular, considering how good it actually is. Side point while on the subject, but always of importance to me: the girl cast of the story is quite diverse and freaking amazing as hell!

Obviously, the guys are also incredible and all different, but it’s a rarer feat (I find) to manage creating many different female characters and I honestly enjoy them so much that I wanted to share (you can read about the plot here). So please meet (from left to right, up then down):

Awashima Chikage: main girl. Usually doesn’t work well with people but makes a good duo with Akira, the main character. Probably is hiding a dark secret.

Name unknown for now but surely the strongest character so far. Disappeared a while ago and her pupil is looking for her.

Honoshiro Asahi: has her own manga. Cursed by a vengeful spirit whom she calls Grudge. Usually works under Suzu’s guidance.

Tsukigami Suzu: a manager within the Japanese Onmyouji Organization. Comes from a powerful exorcist family.

Vespa: that is actually her title and not her name. From South America. Knows how to use poisons. Her father used to work with Pablo Escobar.

Nue Tsuru: cool design, cool powers and cool backstory. Hard to evaluate whom she works for.

Name unknown, seemingly the assistant of the sniper “Red Eye”. Can apparently change her appearance.

Hana: Affiliated with the Onmyouji organization, she owns a store hiding lots of weapons and useful devices. Can actually drive a plane. 

“Q”: a designer of relics, exactly like that one character in James Bond. Is based in Rome and enjoys drinking.

Ever heard of “Tsui no Taimashi: Ender (aller) Geister” a.k.a The Last Exorcist?

You probably haven’t, so this post is here to change that. :)) It’s a relatively “new” manga (two years old) that’s probably weekly and that I too discovered randomly.

PLOT

Ten years before the story, a special German force was sent to Johannesburg, South Africa, to retrieve some very ancient relics. They obviously failed, leading to one of them being sacrificed for demonic possession. 

The now freed demon went on a rampage through South Africa, only to be stopped by a woman who sealed him and offered him to choose between dying on the spot or becoming her subordinate Exorcist. 

Back to the present, a German Exorcist is sent to Japan, to investigate “the Black Pillar”, a weird occult phenomenon that occurred a few months ago. 

THE CHARACTERS

They all have cool designs ok

AKIRA (aka Michael, aka Dominic, aka “Black Shooter”)

the main guy (OBVIOUSLY)

German but with a Japanese mom,

is good with weapons, but also a krav-maga master

seems cold but isn’t??? in fact, he’s rather chill about his pretty weird and unusual backstory,

just doesn’t want to be a burden 

has very cool shades and earrings

CHIKAGE

warning: i love her

kinda ‘miss fan service’ but honestly i can’t even complain bc she’s spectacular

Akira’s work partner in Japan, but they already are living together

the tech girl : she builds her own relics and is a fan of knowing how stuff works (even built a cool car once but it didn’t live long :( )

is more mysterious than Akira and obviously hides a dark path

has a cool punk master tho’

HIGASHIMORI

technically the one in charge but doesn’t act like it, bc he prefers to cosplay as a fishman

is not actually Clint Eastwood, even if some people believes he is 

specializes in seals and is supposedly ultra strong

pulled a Nick Fury from the Avengers movie very early in the story and I’m grateful for it

SUZU (& JIN)

is also in charge, like Higashimori, but is better at it

runs a candy shop as a side business

always looks super fancy (for real, i dig her clothes)

deals in info and battle supervision

has a partner called Jin

is actually the boss of another character staring in a prequel called “VS Evil” 

KIBA

the substitute guy in case Akira needs someone to show him around

or if they need someone to drive a car

has an airplane fetish (slightly disturbing, not gonna lie) and is super good at flight simulators

ends up dating a hot stewardess and i think it’s cool

really wants to be useful

THE VILLAINS (so far)

cool designs as well

interesting backstory for some

hella crazy in general

Also since it’s a story about Exorcists, obviously there are monsters and stuff (such as a witch flying away on an ogre’s head instead of a broom, it was pretty funny to read).

THE CONS

nudity, aka fan service: it doesn’t have to be a flaw, but i know it can bother some people. The author tries to show male nudity as well tho’.

TW: violence (there are monsters, remember?)

they’re often kinda fighting so the first time reading it can be a little confusing (we shall see if it ends up becoming boring or not)

So far so good, I’m hooked. :))
