KL is a hub for travelling, fun, and never-ending entertainment. Here’s a narrowed down list of places to sight-see while you’re in the city. 
1. KL Tower
You certainly can’t miss out on the pride and joy of Malaysia, the KL Tower. It’s proclaimed the 7th tallest freestanding in the world at a jaw-dropping 421 metres. The viewing deck makes the best spot to take in the picturesque view of the entire city, even more so at night. The tower architectural style is influenced by the Islamic and Persian heritage with the use of Islamic tiles, floral and abstract patterns, as well as Arabic scripts. Shopping and dining here is a bliss, as there are plenty of businesses that can accommodate your needs. 
2. Thean Hou Temple
This shrine to Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy is one of the oldest and largest Buddhist temples in Southeast Asia. The temple dates from 1894 when the Chinese Hainanese community made it their sanctuary. Come any Chinese festivities, the temple is a vibrant, crowded place with so many devotees visiting for worship. The majestic view of KL from atop the hill where the temple is can blow your mind away. If you like to gain some blessings, the temple can bestow you with some prosperity and luck. A kind reminder: do respect the temple rules and other people’s privacy while you’re there. 
3. Tugu Negara
It’s one that you’ve seen numerous times in your History text book. Tugu Negara or in English, the National Monument has a long history to its name. The sculpture is dedicated to all those who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the nation. A beautiful garden of pavilions and fountains embraces the sculpture. It boasts a serene and cool vibe. Also known as one of the tallest free-standing bronze statues in Asia, the National Monument makes a great place for you to pay your respects to the fallen soldiers. 
4. KL Forest Eco Park
There’s no better place to get one with nature than the treasured Eco Park. It’s also the best place for city dwellers to take some time off their fast-paced lives. With an abundance of exotic flora and fauna, you can lay back and simply appreciate Mother Nature in all its glory. In fact, it’s been said that the preserved patch is a part of the oldest rainforest in the world. The 200m canopy walk also turns into a great spot for a photo-shoot if you’re daring enough to pose amidst the treetops. Set before the urban city of KL, you’ll surely be mesmerised with the stark contrast of modernisation versus nature.
5. KL Butterfly Park
Add this to your list of places to visit, because these butterflies make the prettiest things you’ll ever see in KL. The park functions as both an insect greenhouse and a museum. The open-air garden allow the butterflies to roam freely in its habitat. Feel free to take shots of the delicate creatures amidst scented beautiful flowers. Also, educate yourself on these precious insects with a visit to the bug museum. The inexpensive visit will surely be memorable among little kids that are curious about butterflies. 
6. National Planetarium 
Visiting KL but skipping out on the Planetarium is a big NO-NO. The building is dedicated to everything science and astronomy. If you’re a big Star Wars junkie, here’s where you can experience an out of the world (no pun intended) moment. The main entrance resembling a teleport chamber sends you into a series of halls with interactive exhibits plus a Space Theatre.
