I first read American Gods I was around 16 years old. At the end of the book, when Sam kisses Natalie I started to cry. As a Métis-Gitsxan-white bisexual woman my identity has been confusing. I still don't really know how to answer when people ask me the inevitable "what are you?" And for the first time in Samantha Blackcrow,I saw myself.I never truly understood why representation mattered until I saw myself in a character. Its important because it makes you feel less alone.Thank you for this :)
No, thank you.  It’s scary writing imaginary people who you aren’t: you talk to real people, and you go places, and you observe, and then you write and you hope you are getting it right and you hope you are doing those people justice. That was a wonderful thing to read.

We’ve bought a new house. And our new next door neighbours (two delightful gentlemen) will not stop being nice.
- bought us a seagull proof refuse bag (yes, they are actual things)
- loaned us garden tools when we didn’t have any
- invited us around for Friday night drinks so we could meet the other people on the lane
- one of them brought me a bunch of sweetpea flowers that he’d picked from his garden
- and tomorrow he’s coming to cut our hedge for us with his electric hedge trimmer thing idk, and all I have to do is hold the ladder.
Basically, I am UNSETTLED and am now having to enter into an arms race of niceness and I am already so behind oh god.
Long story short - I just baked a lemon drizzle cake, and it looks great but I can’t even eat it because MR AND MR NICE MUST RECEIVE AN OFFERING.

Dating Tips for Bi people #1
Next time you go on a first date, it’s important to remember to bring receipts detailing every person you’ve dated or slept with. For convenience sake, just bring a logbook, preferably colour coded by gender and in chronological order. That way, when your date ever so politely ask questions like “so have you slept with more guys or girls?”  or “but how many women have you actually dated” you have it all right there! This process may sounds tedious but really, letting your date decide whether or not you’re bi just got so easy! And c’mon, who doesn’t want meticulously go over there sexual and romantic history with someone who is practically a stranger. With any luck you’ll get a not guilty verdict they’ll believe you when you say you’re bi. :)
