Reassuring myself that nothing I do with my chimera biology can be stupider than whatever the hell monster hunter is doing with some of its elder dragons. If they can make giant dragons able to asexually reproduce and somehow not entirely get wiped out by a lack of genetic diversity bc theyre all essentially clones then I can take liberties ok

whats the total population of chimeras around the world? what places have the most?

I was just thinking about this!! I’d assume the population is pretty spaced out across all continents except Antarctica but uncommon compared to humans, with ones living in different climates reflecting differences in fur thickness/texture/and so on, Asia and the Americas probably being the areas with the highest population.

Since monsters are well, uncommon and usually fairly secretive about the whole monster thing, and some chimera are more wild while others prefer living on the grid, it’d probably be hard to track the exact population numbers. Chimera are highly adaptable and widespread, proobably in the hundred-thousands across the world?? Idk I gotta think more on this

I was weighing in on the potential idea of having chimera be able to breed with monsters that are genetically similar enough to combat issues of a lack of genetic diversity if there’s a sparse population in certain areas. Idk I’ll workshop that later

​maybe not the most realistic option but listen the most important part about fantasy biology is to have fun and be yourself. not everything needs to be 1000% biologically accurate or ur gonna hit a wall bc it’s all fantasy anyway jsgsjsk
