Players are very picky about their sleeves.

I just listened to your podcast on your father today. My father passed away due to complications from Alzheimer's in December. Your podcast really helped me. Losing a parent is so difficult, but thinking about my father's life in terms of the lives of others and that whole "It's a Wonderful Life" tribute has helped my grieving by some measure. Thank you for this episode and for sharing, and may your father's memory be a blessing.

Why do packs have slots rather than each card being a random rarity with higher rarities being less likely.

Because the slots dictate which card sheet the card is dropped from.

Why is the rarity "Mythic Rare" is made of two words, instead of one word like "common", "uncommon", and "rare"?

We wanted a modifier for rare to help with terminology issues.

Assuming it has a constructed purpose, there is no limit.

Hey Mark,

I started off as a modern player and later converted to commander. I REALLY like building decks. I find myself starting to build MANY decks but never finishing them. I used to try and optimize every deck until I realized that doing it that way was actually less fun. I have now discovered that it is MORE DIFFICULT to design a deck to be fun that it is to simply optimize it. Based on your podcasts, I know fun has a lot to do with variance, epic comebacks, and other stuff as well. I would like to learn more on how to design a deck that is more fun!

It might be best to get a guest to do this topic in a podcast. My heavy Johnny deck building days are a bit behind me.

I invoke the right of birthday trivia. My favorite deck in commander is GW Enchantress. Any particular trivia on anything related to Enchantress?

Enchantresses have become pretty tied to drawing cards for playing enchantments. Both monogreen and monowhite have issues doing it alone, so we’ve been pushing more enchantresses into green/white.
