I choose lake danao on my Blog because it is the nearest touristpot in our city the lake is covering an area of 148 hectares lake danao natural park which also include amandiwin mountain range. The lake is 18 kilometers north east of ormoc city. It was originally named lake imelda and was declared as lake danao national park on february 3, 1998 the lake supplies portablewater to at least seven towns in Eastern Leyte including tcloban City as well as the source of irrigation for rice lands in some municipalities like dagami,Burauen, pastrana and is probably a graben or depresaion produced by the philippine Fault or (Leyte Central Fault) an active fault transversing the lake area in a North-South direction . Various sectors of the local community head been studying the lake and its ecosystem. The major threat of avifaunal species in lake danao natural is hunting. Key informants revealed that the hunters are not only the local residents but maby of them also come from other place. Birds that are mostly hunted are hornbills doves, ang pigeons . There are ao many activities you can do in lake danao if you do want to swim , banana boating , kayaking, taking pictures while riding a floating cottage there is also food stalls where you can cook your fresh caught fish from the lake and if you are in a group tour it is the perfect place for it. It is a guitar shaped lake and it is one of the prime Destintion in ormoc city. Otherwise you may ride a habal habal or you can also rent a multicab to take you to this place because its a little bit far from the proper town but the road are well maintained so there is no problem visiting there.
