Tumblr media
When Ketterdam falls to the invading Shu, Kaz Brekker must settle an old debt and bring the last surviving member of the Council of Tides to Ravka. He’s got a plan, but this time he’s not the only one scheming. A
Inej joins Sturmhond protecting refugee ships from the Shu Navy outside Os Kervo, hoping her friends escaped Ketterdam. She reunites with Jesper and Wylan, only to find that Kaz isn’t with them...or on any of the ships that come in from the last wave leaving Ketterdam.

Although the glasses were only around a foot away, there was something immensely satisfying about seeing them zoom towards him, at least until they poked him in the eye.

From Wikipedia:
Nuestra Señora de la Santa Muerte (Spanish for Our Lady of Holy Death), often shortened to Santa Muerte, is a female deity or folk saint in Mexican and Mexican-American folk Catholicism. A personification of death, she is associated with healing, protection, and safe delivery to the afterlife by her devotees. Despite condemnation by the Catholic Church, her cult has become increasingly prominent since the 2000s.
The worship of Santa Muerte is condemned by the Catholic Church in Mexico as invalid, but it is increasingly firmly entrenched in Mexican culture.
Santa Muerte is also seen as a protector of homosexual, bisexual, and transgender communities in Mexico, since many are considered to be outcast from society. Many LGBT people ask her for protection from violence, hatred, disease, and to help them in their search for love.
Her intercession is commonly invoked in same-sex marriage ceremonies performed in Mexico. The Iglesia Católica Tradicional México-Estados Unidos, also known as the Church of Santa Muerte, recognizes gay marriage and performs religious wedding ceremonies for homosexual couples.
Man how did I not know about this magical gay skeleton queen until today?

The problem with the idea of 8 hours of work, 8 hours of sleep and 8 hours of recreation as a structure for a day is that it simply can’t work that way. If I’m expected to be at work at 9, then my work day must begin at 7. Allowing myself a rushed experience to wake up and get to work. And I live close to work. So either my recreation or my sleep needs to take a hit, but for some people it could be more. 8 hours a day, 5 days a week as a basis for full time work is honestly unreasonable at that point. Because it isn’t actually 40 hours a week, it’s 50 hours a week lost to a job, of which 10 is unpaid.

As much as I adore reading - and I do, with all my heart - I cannot be the only one who secretly enjoys buying books more than actually reading them

I found this thing on Facebook… and I fell down the Humans Are Weird hole yet again. 😂(I first did before I even started my blog - Pinterest is sooo full of these posts! And I keep falling down it from time to time, when I discover something new)

ON THIS DAY (July 26th) the spectacular Sutton Hoo treasure was unearthed in 1939 – one of the most significant archaeological discoveries ever made in the UK!
Uncovered in the east of England, the site was probably the burial of an Anglo-Saxon king and contained meticulously crafted metalwork and jewellery.
You can explore the amazing treasures in Room 41 of The British Museum, or take a virtual visit and tour the gallery wherever you are on Google Street View. The BM online shop has a range of items inspired by Sutton Hoo including books, jewellery, replicas and miniatures.
