Polynesians did also rely on a form of a physical map called a stick chart, illustrating the specific wave and swell patterns surrounding different island chains. These were particularly helpful during cloudy conditions when the sun and stars were less useful. To navigate the Marshall Islands, the Marshallese represented ocean swell patterns using parts of coconut fronds and shells as islands. Like a subway map, they don’t so much represent distances as they do relationships. The complex and decorative stick charts were often only understood by the person who made them. They were memorised before a voyage by the pilot who would lie on the floor of a canoe to get a sense of swell movement and often lead a squadron of 15 or more boats.

This scene has probably been one of the most requested ones since I started doing these Muppet Princess Bride illustrations, but I held off attempting it for the longest time because I had no idea if I could pull off Miss Piggy's famous karate chop, and the shot of Kermit falling down the hill. But after hunkering down and putting pen to (digital) paper I managed to get something I'm pretty proud of!

Honestly, I'd love to see Muppet Princess Bride become a reality if only because I wanna see them huck Kermit down a hill. Muppets being thrown is peak comedy to me.

imagine starting a relationship with a woman who you've deemed to be a somewhat safe romantic/sexual partner because you've recently become allies in a war. and then months later you discover that actually you have opposing views on how the war is playing out and that her views are closely aligned with the other person you're in love with, a man that you are subconsciously repressing that love for due to the Curse that makes it apparent that the closeness between the two of you will doom one or both of you. and then you realize that the two people you love are so similar that you've basically fallen in love with the same person twice. in one year. and your differences cause you to lose them both irrevocably and forever. this happened to my friend john silver
