“It wouldn’t be the Hamptons if there wasn’t any open bar around, would it?” Marley chuckled softly at Serena’s words. “Though I have to admit that I’d kill for an open bar right now as well. Should we look for one together?”

“I’ve always loved the Hamptons.” The blonde mused, a gentle smile on her face, her cheeks just slightly flushed in the sun. “It feels like a nice getaway from real life for a bit.” She ran her hand through her hair, looking around. “I’m a sucker for sea and salt.”

“Well, who doesn't love the Hamptons?”, Marlene countered amusedly her head tilted to the right. She at least didn’t know anybody who didn’t. “But you don’t really thing that you’re really away from our daily life, do you? I highly doubt that coming here makes us able to escape all the drama we face at the UES daily.” At least, she wouldn't be able to do it as the people wouldn't resent her less here than they did at home.

This was what summer is all about. Sun, beach, and a drink to top it off, Eric enjoyed not having to do anything but just let his body soak up the vitamin D. He only occasionally got up from the beach blanket to get a new cocktail, and this time when he did so, he recognized a familiar face. “Hey! I see you made it too. How was the trip here?”

So far this trip was actually really nice. Not that Marley gave a damn if people wanted her to be around anyway. But so far she hadn’t heard any condescending words about how she shouldn't be here, how she didn’t belong which was worth something, right? And when you were lying on one of your favorite towels, enjoying the sun, a strawberry margarita in your hands, it was hard to be down anyway, wasn't it? Her attention was focused on the screen of her iPhone and thus it took small moment until she realized that somebody had approached her. One eyebrow cocked up she lifted her head slowly, eying her opponent from the bottom to the top before a little smile started gracing her lips. “Oh hey, Eric”, she dropped her smartphone on her lap, “it was fine. Actually I got sick, again, like always during the drive to the Hamptons. But besides that it was fine. And yours?”

“God, finally”, Marley muttered under her breath while simply throwing her Chanel bag on the bare ground to redo her hair. Somehow she always went ill on the car drive to the Hamptons and this time wasn’t any better. Which meant that she now only wanted to get a nice and cold drink and chill on the beach. “Anybody in for a drink?”
