Was looking for a book today when I saw these various animal books all on the same shelf and noticed their titles made a nice little impromptu poem about veterinary medicine

Does It Spark Joy?
I
Things I’ve kept: old string, yarn, ribbons; spare buttons to clothes I’ve long since thrown away; a bag of chords I’ve no idea what devices they were for; twist ties stolen from the grocery store; washers etc. I’ve picked from sidewalks, and other metal bits. Someday I’ll throw them away—but I might need them someday.
II
And the other things, anything with a scrap of sentiment attached: keys which unlocked old places; a plastic fork my pinball wizard ate takeout with one summer night in Duluth; souvenirs of places and times gone. CDs by old boyfriends with the songs they wrote for me. Mix tapes of my favorite, saddest songs.
III
Old friends’ faces float out from grainy photographs; a hand around a coffee mug, a smile lost inside a red flare of flashbulb. I wouldn’t call it joy. No, it’s not joy I feel burning up my insides, more the rush of recalling the faded memories. So scared to lose I keep even the bad memories.

a writing competition i was going to participate in again this year has announced that they now allow AI generated content to be submitted
their reasoning being that "we couldn't ban it even if we wanted to, every writer already uses it anyway"
"Every writer"?
come on
