So my current procrastination project of choice is a comprehensive Star Wars timeline that I’m putting together in a spreadsheet. I’m working through the Imperial era at the moment, specifically the Thrawn related stuff, and FUCK is it just absolutely hilarious to see a visual representation of the Great No Eli Crashout that ensues after the end of the first novel. Like, look at this shit:

14 BBY to 2 BBY. That’s how much time Eli is Thrawn’s aide. 12 years!!! 12 years of pretty much just a solid upwards climb in terms of his career trajectory. He’s achieving his goals, he’s growing as a person, he’s thriving, his crops are watered, his skin is clear. And then Eli fucks off midway through 2 BBY, and within a year and a half the following things happen:

He starts wearing eyeliner

A band of rebels lead by a literal 16 year old manages to disrupt his operations, sabotage his facilities, and turn his ISB liaison into a defector, something which he doesn’t notice for nearly a year

Arihnda Pryce goes completely off the rails, not only putting his whole fleet at risk but also making him look incredibly bad in front of imperial high command

He hisses at a guy

He antagonises Darth “I force choke my friends and decapitate my enemies” Vader, who then develops a personal beef with him, putting his standing with the emperor at risk

He develops an all consuming rivalry with the aforementioned teenage Rebel, resulting in a series of events which cause his TIE defender project to utterly crash and burn, destroying 5 years of work and his only hope at averting the disaster that is the Death Star plan

He roots out the ISB turncoat who’s been personally sabotaging basically everything he’s done on the past year, promptly beats the shit out of him with an intensity that suggests he is really pent up about some stuff, and then LETS HIM GET AWAY

Finally, he loses the battle of Lothal to a bunch of fucking space whales and summarily gets dragged out into the unknown regions, along with his fleet, his flagship, and also Ezra Goddamn Bridger. Please note that the way he eventually gets out of this mess is by making a Faustian bargain with literal zombies.

All of this in the space of a year and a bit, after more than a decade of being functional flopless. The one major difference? The presence/absence of one Mr Eli N Vanto. Absolutely unparalleled no notes

Lars Von Goetz: Failed reality TV star from The Thirst, who was trying to make a comeback by filming DJ X's vampire raves and the mission ot "save" Peter, though he didn't believe in the existence of the undead himself.

Sam Emerson: Secondary protagonist of the first Lost Boys movie, Sam attempted to save his older brother Michael from the clutches of the local group of vampires with the help of the Frog Brothers. He was turned into a vampire in the sequels and is killed by Edgar Frog.

DJ X: The Secondary Antagonist of The Thirst, DJ X travelled around the world doing raves, at which he would give the crowd a drug called "the thirst," which was actually vampire blood, turning the ravers into the undead.

What could have been…

David and Star were happy. Michael joined them as their boyfriend, making a very happy throuple. Max and Lucy fell deep in love. They unofficially adopted the Frogs who thrived under their parenting. Marko never died. Nobody died. Everyone had a happy ending! The Pack likes Lucy because she’s a woman of the sixties and she cooks for them. Max has everything he’s ever wanted and his newfound contentment means he’s mellowed out. The guys like this more mellow Max. The Emerson house becomes their second home. Grandpa teaches Paul everything he knows about taxidermy. Dwayne’s allowed to drive his car. Max gives Sam free rein to spend in the mall. Nanook and Thorn get along. Life is good. OK. The end.

Claus: The cameraman of reality TV star, Lars Von Goetz, in the Thirst. He works with Edgar Frog and Zoe in the final fight against DJ X, helping destroy the DJ's (and Peter's) vampire army.

Erik: A member of Shane Powers' vampire tribe and the "Joker" of the group. He loved to record his kills to watch later. The Lost Boys Wiki claims he is supposed to be the Tribe's stand-in for Paul.

Shane Powers: The Antagonist of The Tribe and the leader of that movie's coven, who tries to turn Nicole and Chris Emerson into vampires. He is a former member of the group of surf nazis from the og movie, accidentally turned during the beach slaughter scene.

Laddie Thompson: A missing child who was a half-vampire member of the Lost Boys coven. Laddie was a quiet, curious child who had a close bond with Star, as well as a seemingly brotherly connection to Dwyane and Paul.

Lisa Thompson: A member of Shane Powers' vampire gang who tries to seduce and feed on Chris Emerson. She is killed by being impaled on deer antlers, mirroring David's death. She doesn't seem to be related to Laddie, despite sharing a name.

Maria: The clerk at Max's video, whose role was almost completely cut from the movie. She interacts briefly with Marko and Dwayne in the final cut and works the store with Lucy in the deleted scenes.
