Connections:

Levi Hockfield: Having horrible relationships with both her father and her ex-boyfriend, Salem has no patience or interest in developing friendships with men. Feeling jaded, she treated Levi no different and was annoyed by his existence when they both attended Yale. After having a few classes and studying together though, Salem grew to tolerate him and actually enjoy his company. He is the now the person that she calls when something goes wrong or she feels unsafe. 8/10. 

Wolfie: Salem got pulled into the partying crowd for about a year of her time at Yale and became way too alcohol dependent. It was unlike her and she almost views past her as a different person. She met Wolfie during that time because she was in the same crowd, and they frequently bumped into each other, especially when she was under the bad influence of Deniz. Wolfie always seemed to take care of her and help her sober up. Now she is a bit intimidated by her but also intrigued, happy to be under her “wing.” 9/10

Elliot Weaver: Eli is friends with Salem’s abusive ex boyfriend. However, just because they were close, doesnt mean that Eli condones his abusive and stalker like nature. Whenever Eli gets a sense that her ex is about to try and get in contact again, Eli warns Salem. She is impressed that he would do that for her and grows to trust him. 10/10

Juniper Montgomery: At a bar one evening, Juniper witnessed Salem's ex-boyfriend being much too rough with her, and stepped in to help. They quickly formed a friendship after that. 10/10

Chan Lee: Salem is good friends with Clovers mother. She rubs it in his face often that he made a mistake and how dare he take away custody of Clover from her own mother. The two tend to bicker any chance they get and Salem is still angry at Chan, and takes Clovers mothers side. 3/10

Amelia Kennedy: Amelia and Salem met in class at Yale together, amidst the time when Salem was trying to get away from her abusive relationship. She confided to Amelia about him, and she was the one that reassured her that revenge was something that she should definitely do. Amelia assisted her in attempting to poison him, a secret the two share. They are now very close friends. 10/10

Merritt Sinclair: Merritt is well aware of Eli helping out Salem and thinks it's silly that he has agreed to do so. She wishes that Salem would just handle it by herself. Even still, the two are cordial around each other despite the occasional teasing. 6/10

Kao Rathavit: Salem witnessed Kao having a seizure in the hallway of Yale and helped him, but he swore her to secrecy because he doesnt like sharing that he suffers from them. She was intimitaded of him before that incident but has no grown to like him and his soft side. 7/10

Cadence Wilson: The two met at a restaurant when Salem slices her hand on broken glass during an anxious dinner with her father. Cadence being the only one around with medical experience offers to sew her up right then and there with a to go kit she kept in her purse and some alcohol from the bar. Cadence was frustrated with Salem for being so careless and still associates her presence with that experience, but generally the two get along. 6/10

Deniz: Deniz was a bad influence on Salem during the time they were in Yale, perhaps got her drinking alcohol way too much to try and relieve her anxiety (which had the opposite effect) and needed help weaning off of drinking. she is still resentful at him for being so irresponsible regardless of him changing for the better and still associates him with those negative memories. 5/10

Vivian: Vivian was one person that she had not had any classes with at Yale, and is just now getting to know her. She seems like a person that she would get along with but remains a mystery to Salem. She finds herself stepping in to help her when things go awry, and has a soft spot for the female. She has a feeling they will eventually become good friends. 5/10

Weapon of choice: A tiny yet sharp switchblade with a maroon handle, custom made. 

Salem had an unfair start at life, hated the moment she was born. For one, she was supposed to be a boy, and secondly because her mother died while giving birth to her. She breathed out what her daughters name would be before passing away. Her dad didn't know the first thing about raising a girl, and resented her, thus making Salem feel like she was never good enough in his eyes. To overcome his grief, he immersed himself in his work as a commercial real estate agent. By the time she was in high school, she felt like she didn’t even know him and was more so raised by countless nannies that also had a hard time dealing with Salems bratty attitude. This created rebellion in Salem, and she fell into the wrong crowd. But her dad made sure that she got her act together, wanting her to at least follow in his footsteps and attend Yale. Both her dad and grandfather had attended before her, and she was the next generation to attend. And so she was accepted, the family line of prestige continuing. 

Even though her family name was tainted by tragedy, The Bristows were well known for their resilience and brilliance. Salem was no less. Determined to get her dads attention and approval, she made her way to the top of her class, earning outstanding grades. She could be a bit of a know it all and a teachers pet, despite her attitude and acting as if she didn't care about most other things. She loved her studies. That was until things in the C&D Society went awry. After Yale she tried to put the society and all that went on behind her, like a shadow that was hidden but followed her around. Her father hoped she would follow in his footsteps and become a real estate agent though, to his dismay, she went on to manage a quaint yet peculiar Inn known as the Forsythia. She handled planning all of the events and making sure guests had the best stay of their lives before leaving it all behind.

Secrets: (these are entirely for discussion purposes only and are not common knowledge amongst characters)

- There is suspicion that Salem’s father had a hand in her moms death. The doctor insisted that they perform a c-section or she would die, but he refused the procedure and insisted that she would be fine. After her mother’s death after Salem was born, the doctor looked solemnly at him. Salem’s dad paid him off and swore him to secrecy.

- She suffers from generalized anxiety disorder and depression, but hides it well. She is on medication for both but would never want anyone to know about her internal battles, especially the thoughts that go through her mind. She acts perfect on the outside.

- Salem tried to poison her abusive ex boyfriend with arsenic, but it was a failed attempt. He doesn’t know about her attempt to kill him…yet. She fleed him several years ago but he still tries to contact her.
