Almost four years ago today (just shy of two weeks), I climbed my first fourteener. I headed off on my adventure to Colorado to hike alone. While at camp, I met a group of people on that mountain who introduced me to who I call, "the greatest man I never met", only because Steve had recently passed away. A man loved by many, and as they shared their stories of him, I too fell in love with the person he had been. These people welcomed me into their group and I was no longer alone. I was given the opportunity to witness the love they shared for him while sharing him with the mountain he loved. This weekend I made it back to the exact same spot on that mountain to finish the journey that began four years ago and to share my mom with the mountain that I fell in love with. A place of love that will one day, I pray, help me get over the loss of so many loved ones in the last two years, including my mom. My goal is to come back every July to feel the love Pikes Peak brings to my soul. (at Pikes Peak)

A year ago I was climbing to the top of Mt Whitney. I didn't make it due to altitude and a bloody nose. Just grateful for the opportunity and for another hike I get to go back to complete. (at Mount Whitney)
