M.A.R.S Poster
At the end of the M.A.R.S project, we created a final poster that included three examples each of outcomes, research, and development. I added a plushie, an ad poster, and a depiction of a goddess.
I hated the poster's Photoshop format because the images had to be the same size to fit in the boxes and added a coloured background would add personality instead of plain white.
Project Summary:
In the M.A.R.S project had 3 ingredients we were given. Exploring outside the list ingredients and learning the variations of media, I was able to create these final outcomes.

Formal Anatomy: Practice
Finished version:
And recoloured the eyes to be the same as the other drawing.

A reference and improve my drawing, trying to make it more realistic and fix the lighting.

Process:
Sketching digitally, referencing the pose and clothing from another image, and then outlining.

Colouring and slowly blending, while adding details to the clothing. Shadowing around the character and using a rubber tool to take out bits of the purple overlay.

What is Ancient Astronauts?
It is a pseudoscientific set of beliefs that holds that intelligent beings, like aliens, visited Earth and contacted humanity in antiquity and prehistoric times.
Some believe that the Nazca Lines in the desert south of Lima had religious or social significance, while others think the lines referred to water sources or irrigation. It is a bit odd that, if the lines were shapes of animals (a hummingbird, monkey, condor, spider, and parrot) they are famous drawings.

Mars Attacks: Theories
When we first saw the Martians burning herds of cows, it showed their intentions were malicious from the beginning. Their subsequent appearance before the humans, claiming peace, was a lie.
When humans translate the sound, it seems random, but the message might mean "the half-breed," implying that all humanity descends from Martians. They gained the ability to breathe on Earth and harvest its resources, or Earth was taken due to overpopulation and resource shortages on Mars. Perhaps they did it for fun.
The man sounded unsure about whether the translator was 100% functional or whether the Martians never intended to be peaceful. It's unknown because, when they were chasing the people, one Martian held the translator and repeatedly said, "Don't run. We are your friends."
The Martians' bodies are very fragile and small compared to the average human, and the suit somewhat protects them, being bulletproof. This suggests that before the knowledge of technology, they might have struggled to defend themselves against larger predators. Perhaps there were dinosaurs or some type of winged creature that attacked them, driving them to live underground for safety (which the trading cards say is a dinosaur attack). This could link with the dove scene in the movie, and that is why they shot it—because they felt threatened by it or because the birds have a high-pitched sound that Martians hate, which causes their heads to explode.

Wilded Adventure: Professional Photographs
Took more photos in different variations of atmosphere to make it seem like the alien is having little adventure throughout the building. Similar to how Mitchel Wu does with his photography.

Bluebell's Burrow
To package the little mice in matchboxes because their size is small, and I like the idea of them being inside a tiny box. I also like the light baby colours because they are very appealing to look at.

Gorillaz: Comparing
I used the same layout idea as the Gorillaz posters, but changed the colour palette and characters in my design. Their palette uses primary colors, while mine uses secondary colours.

Aditi Sharma: Comparing
The digital drawing has a style that looks very cartoony or anime, with light and bright, limited colours, while her work is more realistic, with very detailed shading and a darker, more terrifying style.

Bagpuss: Comparing
My plushie looks like Bagpuss's cousin that would come from the show, due to their similar theme of being cats that use warm colour tones.

Stefan Sagmeister: Comparing
Stefan's design uses his face and draws on top of it to create a pattern or cracks around his face. My design is more hand-drawn digitally and uses vibrant colours. It also has the spine with bold letters that cover most of it, while mine only takes up half of the spine.

M.A.R.S: 3 Ingredients
Finished version:
I am amazed at how the character and background turned out with the limited colours.

Aiming to get some random pink colours on Coolors for my idea, and I used the references.

Process:
I sketched out the idea and liked how it looked. Then I outlined it in black, colored it with the colors I had, and added the pink shapes, which are separated into pieces because the truncated tetrahedron is 3D, onto the clothing as a pattern.

At first, I was thinking of drawing the milky ocean I heard about on the Lakshmi website, but decided against it because the character didn't like that part of the drawing. So I used a lotus flower for the black background, then added colours and blended them. I also placed slightly darker shades under the flowers to make them pop out a bit more.
