Street Art in Lisbona
What the architecture of Lisbon is most associated with! Of course, with azulejo tiles, red roofs and the narrow streets of Alfama. However, there is one more factor that defines Lisbon - it is "Street art".
Of course, not all of the works are of the highest caliber, but there are a few iconic ones - which are real works of art and it is worth finding a moment to visit them while exploring the Portuguese capital. Fortunately, there are two places where we can find several works grouped close to each other - I describe them below.
The first location worth visiting is the Santa Apolonia metro area, more precisely the section along the shoreline leading to another station on the blue line, Terreiro do Paco. We can find there, among others, futuristic works by Pixelpancho and Vhils.

Did you notice how the two above works were done? The greater part has been mapped directly into the wall. Vhils is responsible for this.
In addition to the works of these two, during a short walk we will also find a massive warehouse with a very long painting, each episode of which presents something completely different.

The second area of street art is the Fontes Pereira de Melo avenue, with the Picoas metro station. Why this particular place? Because of the 2010 Crono project to decorate abandoned buildings and restore them to the city. Famous artists have been invited to cooperate and the effect is electrifying.

Street art can be loved or hated. However, the above works are, firstly, mostly legal, and secondly, of the highest quality. Unfortunately, as in life, some people abuse tolerance for artists, and their poorly developed “works” spoil the atmosphere of historic streets. At this point, the authorities of Lisbon should be commended for separating special zones and inviting famous artists to truly beautify the city.

Street Art  In Katowice
Hello :)
This episode will be about murals and graffiti in Katowice.
I went to primary school Zespół Szkół i Placówek nr 1 in Katowice for 8 years. During the last two years of my studies I was walking across the city on my feet and by bus which is why I know most of these murals.
My favourite murals is AIRSHIP,WATERFALL AND WATER WORLD. In 3D (three dimensional). It is located at street 1 May 7 (the near crossed with Dudy-Gracza). It makes a great impression on me because it is painted in 3D (three dimensional).
Tumblr media
Near this mural there is beautifull made portrait of Wojchiech Korfanty- one of the most outstanding, important person in Powstania ĹšlÄ…skie.
Tumblr media
Another beautifull mural is mural about Jerzy Kukuczka. He was born in Bogucice. There is his mural on the wall. He is also a patron Academy of Physical Education  in Katowice. He was a world famous climber.

Banksy and his phenomenon
Tumblr media
Hi!
As promised today in this post I will tell you a little about Banksy. If we are talking about graffiti as a subculture, we must mention Banksy.
Banksy is a very controversial artist who took art to the streets, from expensive exhibitions and museums he brought it to the streets and it goes to ordinary people. Banksy (real name according to The Guardian: Robert Banks, born 1974 in Yate)
Banksy started out as a graffiti artist. He switched to stencil graffiti after a minor incident that happened to him while painting trains with his friends. It was slower than the others and was left behind. When the authorities showed up, he hid under one of the carriages, where he had to spend several hours in hiding. He recalls that he spent a lot of time while hiding under the wagon looking at the serial number of the train, which was marked on the wagon through a template. This inspired him to create templates: Rat-anarchist.
Tumblr media
Banksy templates are very often linked to where they are placed and contain humorous graphics and symbols, sometimes with slogans. The general message of his works is anti-war, anti-capitalist and pacifist. His recent works often feature policemen, soldiers, children and the elderly, and animals such as rats and monkeys. He also creates stickers (district patrol) and sculptures (murdered telephone box).
Banksy also creates altered, reworked images; An example is Monet's Lilac Lake, in which he placed elements associated with the urbanization of the earth, such as garbage or a shopping cart immersed in water. Another example is the painting The Night Hawks by Edward Hopper, in which he placed an English hooligan, dressed only in shorts with a British flag, who had just threw an object at a cafe window and smashed it. He also creates installations.

"The Girl with a Balloon" was the last work of art to be put up for sale on Friday at Sotheby's in London. The painting was priced at ÂŁ 200-300,000, but was finally auctioned off for ÂŁ 1,024 million, or approximately PLN 4.9 million. Shortly after the auction ended, an alarm sounded and the image suddenly began to pass through a shredder hidden in the frame. Banksy posted a photo of the surprised auction participants and his half-damaged work on Instagram. "Goes, goes, goes," he commented

Banksy does not care about money and wealth, he laughs at people who spend millions on his art. It draws attention to the world's problems. I like this guy very much.

From idiosyncrasies to artistry
Hi!
At the beginning I want to tell you about graffiti, mural and street art. Graffiti is collective name, with a different theme and purpose, artistic creation, based on placing, for example, pictures, signatures, drawings in public or private space using various techniques, most often spraying or brushing and spraying through a stencil.
The first paintings on the walls were in the form of simple tags or signatures of the author. With time, larger forms appeared - in the form of slogans. The term graffiti was originally referred to as textual forms of street art. Most often performed with a spray or brush. Another characteristic feature of graffiti was that the pictures were made in a hurry, with little attention to detail. Initially, the authors made their subtitles only in illegal places - not having too much time to refine the details.
Tumblr media
The name of street art was to cover all art created in public space. It was a new form of expression that emerged as an opposition and counter-manifesto to art from salons.A specific feature of street art that distinguishes it from other forms of art in public space is its temporary nature.
Tumblr media
The term mural is most often used to name large-format paintings that are created on the walls. Planned and carefully executed on walls, sometimes even with the help of scaffolding.
Tumblr media
Finally, I will mention the most popular graffiti artist who makes a huge career every year - Banksy.
About him in the next episode...
 See you soon:)

Hi! On my blog I will focus on the most interesting subcultures, in my opinion it is graffiti. But first I want to introduce all of them:) Subculture youth is name of an informal youth group in which convention, rules and outfit are different than normal the other people. They are most often mentioned subculture like: punk, metal, Emo, moods, skate, hip hop, Depeche, hippy grunge, rastaman, Goths, graficiarze. Subculture performs many important functions in the life of young people. On the one hand they allow you to define yourself, on the other hand it enables rebellion against social norms. That’s all for now, thanks for visiting my blog.
