All Anasui could do was keep hoping that Jolyne would believe him. He had no problem continuously reassuring her of these things; no matter how long it takes he would keep reminding her over and over. 

He was pleasantly surprised when he noticed Jolyne had actually moved closer to him but he knew better than to act so quickly. He had to be a little more patient with Jolyne even if his arms had been itching to just pull her in closer to him now. No - he’d have to wait. For now he gave her hand a gentle squeeze… Baby steps. “Then… Let me, Jolyne. You can trust me. I promise.” he almost sounded desperate but he had to be careful not to be too pushy either if he wanted this to work. “… You wanna do it for me, too?” now that was a surprise… he felt like his heart wanted to jump right out of his chest. “Jolyne… You… You mean that?” 

She nodded, “I do mean that.” A sigh was let out, and as she got closer to him, her arms moved to wrap around him, despite how shaky they were. To say she was scared would be an understatement. She just kept reminding herself that Anasui had never lied to her before, why should she have such difficulty believing him? Then she remembered all the times her father had lied to her, but Anasui wasn’t her father. “Show me that you mean it, that I can trust you. I’ll show you that you can trust me too.”

i'm just hypothesizing here but i predict if DIO and perla ever met she would not like him lmao it’d be like a “what have u done to my brother u strange man” 

unlike sherry who upon first meeting DIO was like “ya i can trust him” perla would not trust him one bit
