“Well, hmm, my name is Psyana Gardevoir. I live in the Hoenn region currently, I am 22 years old, I am a human, and I go by it/it/its pronouns. Anything other than that I’m not sure is worth telling.”

What would you say was your strongest / most potent characteristic? 

“Well, people often say that I’m rather clever. Oh, well actually, they say I’m cunning, but I thought I should put a more positive spin on it. I’m not sure if the trait is good or bad, if I’m honest.”

(About this, I wasn’t sure how to find a particular characteristic, so I just rolled for a number in Sp. Attack, Gardevoir’s highest stat, and got 27, which let me to “Thoroughly cunning.” If I did this wrong, let me know!)

How would your friends describe you?

“This may be embarrassing, but since I have merely a few people who I would consider friends, most of what I’ll say here is speculation. I am a bit difficult to get to know, as I don’t open up to people very quickly, but once you do get to know me, I’m a very loyal and I consider myself a good friend, if that’s not too arrogant of me to say. Besides that, I think others would describe be as sincere and dedicated.”

How would you describe your family? How many siblings, or parents, or other relations? Do you get along well with them?

“I consider myself very close to my parents. I am an only child though, so I guess that was most likely inevitable. As for my extended family, we don’t see each other often enough for me to be particularly connected to them.”

Random bit of trivia about yourself, or your hobbies

“A hobby I am aiming to pursue is learning martial arts. I’ve been putting it off, however, as I don’t have the money to buy any equipment, and the gym in my neighborhood doesn’t supply such equipment. In the meantime, I am attempting to raise my general athletic ability to get ready instead. As for trivia, I suppose one interesting thing about me is that I highly enjoy going to the fortune teller in my town.”

Do you prefer spicy, sour, sweet, dry, or bitter food? What out of the five is your least favourite?

“Um, I’m not completely sure why this question is being asked, but if it’s that important, I prefer dry foods over most anything else. That and I can tolerate most things except for spicy foods, which I hardly ever eat.”

Romantic past? Has there ever been anyone before Mimikyu, love life wise?

“Um, I’m not the most out-there person when it comes to relationships in general, platonic or romantic, so um, no, I have no other romantic experience, as lame as that sounds”

Do you like people that are strong willed?

"Why wouldn’t I like a strong willed person? Being stubborn is not as bad of a quality as most people make it out to be, and it’s certainly better than having no backbone at all, in my opinion.”

Why did you enter this BC? Are you nervous? What do you hope to attain?

“I wanted to break out of my comfort zone. Competing for love on tv is certainly not something I’d typically jump at, but it felt right to enter this. I’m not sure why, but I can only hope that I will succeed. If not, well, that’s on me, I suppose.”

“Hey - hey, pal. Ask them if they’d be willing to zzzettle with super smart and super slick red Berries if - if things go kaput for them at the last minute, zzzt-zzzt! Asking for a friend.”

“Well, I’m flattered, but I believe I should meet someone before making such decisions, no offense intended.”

Felicity Harrison for @tosimornottosim‘s Ostkaka MMBC!

Felicity has always been a girl who acts on impulse. She walked across monkey bars even though she knew she’d fall, she’d slip candies from her aunt’s store when she was hungry, she’d do whatever she thought was fun, no matter how dangerous it was.

Currently, Felicity is living with her aunt, as her parents were always too busy traveling for their jobs to properly take care of their child. Perhaps that’s why Felicity was never an all too well-behaved child, but if you’d ask her now, she loves her aunt just as much as she would have loved her parents. 

Right now, she wants to be a police officer, but it’s not exactly working out. So, she’s just helping her aunt run her store for the meantime. Well, that was until she saw the call for Gin Tonic’s BC. She’s not sure why, but she was so attracted to the offer that she had to apply, no matter how mad she knew her aunt would get.

Deidre has lived on the outskirts of Isla Paradiso for as long as she can remember, raised by an old witch far too old to be her real mother. She’s not familiar with her peers, as she was homeschooled by her mother and kept away from children her age, always told that they were a bad influence on her and her magic. Looking back on it, the woman had most likely been scared that she would hurt someone. 

Oh, does Deidre wish she could see her now. She’d probably shock the woman half to death again. How could her precious child now be what Deidre is now? She’s still lacking company, but now it’s out of being feared than being protected. The Witch of the Island is a ‘myth’ known by the children of Isla Paradiso, scared whispers telling that if you cross her, you’ll turn into a zombie on the next full moon. 

Of course, Deidre’s pretty sure that she doesn’t mean to be evil, people scare her, and she’s never been able to control her magic when she’s scared. It’s mostly an accident. 

About the BC? Deidre has been longing some form of companionship for a while. It gets a bit lonely when everyone is scared of you.

Finley Kang for @jackssims​ MMBC

Overview: Meet Finley Kang, Bridgeport native and big time actor in the making. Well, they’re making progress. Currently, they’re just part-timing at their aunt’s bookstore on the other side of town, as they haven’t built up enough courage to actually attend an audition. Well, they claim that they did once, but they had ended up with their face in the sidewalk while they were trying to remember their lines. It’s not really a story they’d like to go into further, as it only embellishes their clumsiness.

If they are brave enough to talk to you, you’ll find out that they are a very friendly person, and that the first shell of awkwardness that they have quickly melts away as they get used to speaking. They’re not one to brag, but they say that they have a pretty large circle of friends nowadays! Even if they won’t admit it, that makes them very proud of themselves. In fact, if you ask them about their friends, they might start to ramble, as they tend to get a bit too excited when speaking about topics they favor.

Onto their romantic adventures, they are few and far between. It’s not like they’re not looking for love, otherwise, why would they be on the show? Although Finley is a bit of a hopeless romantic, none of their past relationships have been the greatest. On the topic of why they joined the BC? If you asked, they’d probably tell you that it was on a hopeful whim that this would give him some better luck, but don’t tell that to Troye.

Interview:

1. Introduce yourself! Your name, where you’re from, all that good stuff.

“Hi! I’m Finley Kang, I’m born and raised in Bridgeport, and, well, one could say that I’m an actor? Not really though, not yet at least.”

2. Hobbies? (Or rather, what you do in your spare time.)

“As of recently, I’ve tried to take up painting, even though I’m not really the most artsy person out there. I think it’s been going pretty well so far!”

3. How do you feel about dating an occult? Or if you are a different occult, how do you feel about dating a fairy?

“Well, I’m in luck here, because occults are one of the things that don’t really scare me, I mean, except for vampires, but that doesn’t matter right now because Troye is not a vampire! Anyway, I’m totally cool with dating a fairy.”

4. Best place you’ve traveled to?

“Since the thought of getting on a plane scares me to death, I haven’t really travelled much in my life. However, out of my experiences, I think I like my plain old hometown the best.”

5. What are your thoughts on having children?

“I think they’re pretty cute! I’ve always imagined my future family to have children in them, as far off that future probably is.”

6. Favorite genre of music? Favorite artist/band?

“Um, well, I think I’m still stuck in my angsty teenager music phase, so, I like Twenty One Pilots.” 

7. Did you get into any (big) trouble as a child? Any run-ins with the law at some point?

“Um, I don’t recall any big trouble. I mean, I got in trouble for stealing cookies from the kitchen before dinner a lot, but nothing illegal.”

8. What’s your biggest achievement to date?

“My biggest achievement? My life isn’t too eventful, so I think I’d have to say that actually signing up for this BC was my big achievement! That kind of makes me sound lame though, but I guess it doesn’t really matter all too much.”

9. Favorite ice cream flavor?

“Definitely mint chocolate chip. I don’t even think I eat any other kind of ice cream.”

10. Lastly, what was your drive to enter this BC?

“My past relationships haven’t exactly been the best, so to speak, so I thought that maybe I could get out of my slump through this competition! Hopefully, everything will work out, or it’ll just worsen my luck.”

Raina’s interview for @tosimornottosim is under the cut!

1. What is your name, rank, and title? How old are you? Anything else I should know about you?*

“My name is Raina Mukherjee, I’m 21 years old, and I’m just barely a baroness. I really haven’t had much time to sort all of the noble stuff out yet, so I’m not quite sure.”

2. How do you like to spend your time?

“For most of my life I spent my time reading the fairytales the friendly maids took from my stepsister’s bedroom, and once in a while I’d be able to play a few games of chess with them once they could fit all the pieces in their pockets. More recently, I’ve taken interest in painting!”

3. What would others say you are like?

“I think I have a good reputation among the limited amount of people I know. Would it be bragging if I said I was good at talking to people? I am not exactly sure why, but I think I have something about me that people naturally like, although that may sound a little conceited.”

4. What’s your relationship like with your family?

“Well, I can only really describe it as nonexistent now. My mother and I didn’t keep in touch very often, you couldn’t beg my stepfather and his children to acknowledge me, and no one ever bothered to tell me who my actual father was. However, I guess it doesn’t matter now that they’re all dead. I apologize if that’s a bit grim of me.”

5. What is your deepest dream for your future?

“Personally, I’d love to travel the world. Being stuck in a tower for most of your life does give you a wish for adventure. Right now though, it’s not all too realistic.”

6. What’s your home kingdom like? Do you like it there?

“You see, I haven’t exactly had many opportunities to see my home kingdom. What I’ve seen from my window and limited time strolling around where my family’s manor is, it’s quite charming! I haven’t had the courage to make it into town yet, but the forest sure is nice!”

7. What do you think of magic? Does it frighten you?

“I think magic seems to be an interesting concept! I’ve neither heard nor seen any traces of in outside of my storybooks though, but perhaps that’s because I don’t get out too much. I don’t think there’s anything to be afraid of.”

8. Are you good at keeping secrets?

“Yes, I think I am. Perhaps I inherited the skill from my mother.”

9. Do you like horses?

“Well, there are certainly animals I’d prefer, but I’m surely far from hating them. They are admittedly very fascinating creatures.”

10. What do you think of the Lady Ginette von Aleshire?

“From what little I know, I think that she is a really wonderful person! I don’t know much, but what I do know makes me completely sure that I would be grateful just to be in her presence and compete for her heart. I know that love at first sight must be something from fairytales, but this must be close.”

Baroness Raina Mukherjee

This lovely lady is my contestant for @tosimornottosim ‘s double MMBC!

Born the bastard daughter of a local baroness and a passing Indian noble, Raina was destined to be kept a secret, as there wasn’t any real way for her to be coined off as a true child of the pair. It was never all too acceptable for anyone to have a child out of wedlock, especially if you were in a place of power, so the baby was hidden away and replaced by the child of a young peasant that had a striking resemblance to the baron. Anything to not raise questions, right?

So up to the highest tower in the castle the girl went, as cliche as it was. As she grew up, it was rare that she saw anything outside of her room, which, looking back on it, must be one of the reasons she’s so clumsy. She could walk through that room in pitch darkness without falling, but on other terrain, she’s a bit of a mess. 

Raina had been born with a way with words. Combining this with her naturally friendly attitude, it was often that her mother’s maids would visit her, giving her more company than her mother ever did. As she got older, she settled for their attention, as it seemed like her dramatic calls for attention did not reach her mother’s ears. Because of her treatment by her, Raina often likes to joke that her mother’s frosty attitude is her reason for her love of the cold.

The day that Raina turned 21, the rest of her family was poisoned, leading to all of their deaths. She probably would have died too if one of the uninvolved kitchen staff had not brought her a piece of cake before her dinner, but perhaps luck acts that way. Being the last of the family’s bloodline as neither baron nor baroness had any extended family alive, Raina inherited her mother’s title. Now, with her newfound freedom, it seems only natural for her to try and find love.
