Idk if this is a hot take but I am a STRONG advocate of queerplatonic Sydney and Jedidiah.

The idea that… they love each other more than anything, and it doesn’t manifest like romance- not going on dates or getting married- but it’s just as much of a commitment. It’s so much deeper and more complex than any label can fully capture. Something about them doesn’t fit into the “childhood friends to lovers” box imo. Instead I see it more like,, like they’ve grown in sync all their lives,, yknow how like,,

Sometimes trees which sprout too close together begin to intertwine as they grow, and eventually become one? They’re part of each other. One tree would collapse without the support of the other. Their roots can’t be untangled.

They’ve spent so long with each other, and been there through so much- that the kind of mutual understanding they’ve developed can’t be replicated. A hypothetical “break up” wouldn’t be ur usual separation… it’d be more like an amputation.

There’s definitely an element of codependency, buuuut I have a whole other rant on that topic about BPD Sydney and how certain traumas can make someone understand “love” and “codependency” as synonymous… (which IMO is why Elijah’s form of affection was semi-effective at persuading Sydney… coming from the BPD Sydney in question).

Anyways main point is they are boybestfriends and they hold hands and also kiss. This is my gospel.
