“One scene in Manhunt involves both Zhang Hanyu and Masha riding water scooters on a river in Osaka. Masha went to get a license specially for this, so he was the actual actor in many scenes. There was a scene where he had to jump into the river - he chose to let his double stand aside, and jump into the river by himself. He finally reached the coast after swimming a bit by himself, which made the excited staff cheer.” (x)

- Masha did most of the stunts, except for the dangerous ones. John Woo says that Masha does his action scenes very elegantly, just like a prince.

- John Woo says, "Masha is a very hardworking actor who goes to the set early in the morning to prepare. Masha updates (2/2/18)

[Talking FM] 

From 27/1 Talking FM: Masha started using the auto-reply function on LINE today. After he started using LINE, he followed other artists' official accounts on LINE, including X Japan's Yoshiki. He often receives updates from Yoshiki, so he feels like Yoshiki's a friend even though he hasn't met him in real life.

Yoshiki recently told his followers on LINE that he's going to Russia, so Masha replied: "I'm Fukuyama, please take care of your health and be careful." Yoshiki's account auto-replied: "We're X!" Masha replied: "We're BROS!" Yoshiki auto-replied again: "I'm scared of eating spicy curry." So Masha replied: "I'm scared of eating spicy curry too."Afterwards, Masha thought this auto-reply function was really cool, so he asked the staff to add this into his LINE account.

Currently, the auto-reply function on Masha's account only has: - We're bros - ましゃだよ (I'm Masha) - どうも福山です (Hello, I'm Fukuyama) - 福山雅治です (I'm Fukuyama Masaharu) - 雅治さんです (I'm Masaharu)

At the concert in Osaka, Masha asked the audience what replies they wanted, and they said they wanted "Good morning", "Good job", "I really like you", "I love you".

[Facebook] Some photos from the Japan premiere, Masha looking dapper as usual.

Masha said that he was very honoured to work with John Woo since he's a world-class director, but he was worried since he hadn't filmed action movies before. He also said that he often sees white doves in John Woo's films (he's known for it), so he was excited to take a photo with the white doves.

John Woo replied that he was unexpectedly attracted by Masha, saying: "Masha is too charismatic, although he says he's never been in an action film before, but he still did well. He has a good body figure and he's very attractive in front of the cameras, I enjoy filming him. I hope I can work with him in the future in a romantic film, just like 'Roman Holiday'. Fukuyama is also a visionary, he's very sincere. He loves the world, he loves humans, I can feel that he wants the world to be a better place from his songs. We have similar thoughts on this."

Masha also praised Nanami Sakuraba: "She acts really well, sometimes she even films her scenes in one take without any NG. If she has a bit more NGs, perhaps my acting will be better. But because she acts also well, I only have one chance to act..."

Johnny Depp X Fukuyama Masaharu

I was browsing through 雅集 -elegantias- Talking FM translations and although I intend to slowly translate and time everything, but I couldn't help translating this in advance. This was broadcast on 3 June 2017, about the Asahi CF Masha filmed with Johnny Depp.

Masha: In the advertisement, he told me, "big respect brother" (t/n: at the end of the CF, when they shook hands). When he said that, I felt so shy. Johnny-san is a very good person! Between takes, we did talk a little. I really can't speak English, but Johnny-san still came over to talk to me. We both like guitars, and Johnny-san brought his own guitar that day. It's an original Duesenberg, a German brand...We talked about his guitar. I recorded the entire song and sent it to Johnny-san for him to practise the beginning. Before work started, he wanted to see me once. He called me over to the camper and asked, "Am I playing correctly? Please check this." That was how I met him for the first time. Because we both like guitars, it was easy to work with him.

I received Hollywood Vampires (Johnny, Aerosmith's Joe Perry and Alice Cooper) guitar picks, so I sent him a Daikanshasai guitar pick too. I wanted to send him a Daikanshasai guitar scratch guard too. There's a Hollywood actor with you guys, BROS! There's a BROS in Hollywood, and he owns BROS goods in his house now. So, Johnny-san is part of BROS. too! He said "big respect brother", I guess this is "big respect BROS"! I'll send the fanclub newsletter to Johnny too, so that Johnny can watch BROS. TV anytime.
